After the test Zion is helped by the staff to get a room to change his clothes and rest for a while, while his results are being processed. After laying down for a bit he falls asleep.

A few hours later.

“Young master? Wake up your results are ready, the manager is calling you to the office” said by one of the staffs.

“Oh? It’s done already. Ok let’s go”.

Upon arriving the office, he see 2 people in the office and one of them is familiar. It is the kid he seen earlier outside the WEF building. He sat on the vacant chair. And another guy with a sword. At the desk is a man with a brown hair, wearing a white tuxedo with a red tie. He has a slim yet sturdy body that can be seen that got through a rigorous training every day.

“You might wonder, why you are called here. But first let me introduce myself, I am Lucas Bleakhelm”

“What?! Did I hear you wrong? Lucas Bleakhelm? The captain of Black Spectre Squad?” said by the other applicant inside the office who placed third in the selection.

“Yeah, you heard me right! Lucas Bleakhelm of Black Spectre”

“Just cut the chit chat! Why did you call us here?!” Asked by the mysterious kid who placed first in the selection.

“He’s not just mysterious he also has this menacing aura in him, he’s like someone who have already experienced life and death several times. Just what kind of life did this boy lived?” Zion whispers as he observes the mysterious boy.

“Oh right! You three are the top 3 placers for this examination and you three also has the highest rating within this month. To not waste your talents as newbies and die in the battlefield right away I will give you an offer to join my squad!”. The three of them was astonished by what they heard. They all know that joining the Black Spectre comes with great honor and privilege as newbies.

“Are you serious?! We? We can join the Black Spectre?!” said by the guy who placed third.

“Yes, but as newbies you cannot join the main squad yet, you will be put to either the second or third unit after we personally assess your ability, if you are good enough you might be in the first unit. If you become strong enough then I will immediately recruit you in the main squad” Explained by Lucas.

“Sir! Let me join!” saluted by the 3rd placer guy.

“How about you two?” asked by Lucas to other two newbies.

“Sir Lucas it is an honor and privilege to be invited by you personally but I will humbly decline” Zion said as he declines.

“How about you?” Lucas asked to the 1st placer.

“I’m not interested” he replied.

“Hey! Watch your mouth when you’re talking to Sir Lucas!” the 3rd placer guy confronts the 1st placer.

“Why? You wanna fight?!” replied by the 1st placer kid as he is ready to draw his 2 daggers on his waist. At the same time the other guy also aims his sword to the kid.

“Yo! Stop that!” Zion threatens them both with a murderous look and aura.

“That’s enough” calmly responded by Lucas but with a frightening aura that envelops the room and give chills to the three of them.

“So this is the strength of a ranker who is the top 300 even his voice alone almost killed me” Zion said to himself.

“…….” Both the first and third placer.

“It’s sad to hear but still I manage to recruit one. It’s a pity that both the two strongest declined, well it’s not like I can force them anyway” Lucas to himself.

“We’re done now thank you for coming and sorry for troubling you”. Lucas said to the three.

After the meeting. Zion headed outside to the counter to pick his E-pod.

“Young master Zion!” Zach called Zion while waving. After seeing Zion headed to the counter where Zach is.

“Ohw! it’s Mr. Zach from the testing division. What’s the matter?” Zion asked.

“Nothing really, I heard you’ve been recruited by Mr. Lucas?” Zack asked.

“Yeah but I declined” Zion replied.

“What? Why?” Zach responded as he was shocked and confused at the same time.

“Hey don’t get me wrong here, I just don’t want to be entangled by the WEF. I want to roam around and be strong in my journey.” Zion responded.

“Yeah yeah whatever! Good to be young, just roaming around without having family responsibility, doing whatever they want. Fight here fight there.” Zach’s muttering.

“………”

“Anyway what’s your E-pod status? Let me see!” Zach asked curiously.

“Here have a look” Zion responded and handed the E-pod to Zach.

“Hey what’s wrong? Zion concernedly asked.

“Young master? Are you sure this is yours?” Zach asked with a serious face.

“Huh? What do you mean? Of course! You can’t fake the E-pod you know.” Zion replied.

“Noooooooooo, huhuhu” Zach cried with a river of tears.

“Hey what are you doing!” Zion confused.

“What’s wrong with my E-pod?” Zion asked.

“What the fuck do you mean what’s wrong? Do you even know that it took me 5 whole years to achieve Essence Forming Stage – Forming Level!! And I spent 6 years to increase my BP to Mediocre!! What the fuck is wrong with you little monster! You’re a demon! A demon!” Zach shouting with his tears!

“Eh—Hehe! Is that really great? Hahahaha” Zion’s flattered expression.

“Great your ass!”

“Now I wonder what’s the status of that kid” Zion suddenly asked out of nowhere.

“Yeah that kid’s a total monster. You’re a demon and his the devil reincarnate. Either way you’re both going to hell.” Zach complimented with serious face.

“Shut up dude! Who’s going to hell! You are going to hell!” Zions pissed face.

“Anyway kiddo break time’s over catch you up later!” Zach told his farewell to Zion and returned to his post in the testing center.”

“Now where am I going?”

“Should I go the recruitment hall? Maybe I can find some guild whose willing to recruit me, with my performance previously there might be some small time guilds who would recruit me.”

“Anyway let’s go there and find out.”

Few moments later Zion arrived at the recruitment hall. There he see all sorts of guilds and scouts looking for newbie to recruit.

There are different types of guild. There are some who specialize in gathering information such as bard guild. Some specialized in offensive and combat guilds. Defensive guilds. And there are also class specific guilds such as mage all guilds and assassin only guild and so on and so forth.

While Zion is standing on a tree shade looking for guild he would join and opportunity to join someone suddenly talk to him.

“Hey kid, you seem to be knew here”

Zion shiver and felt chills down to his bones.

“What! How? Since when is he in my back? I didn’t even felt his presence!”

“I’ve been on my guard all this time but still not able to sense him! What’s the deal with this guy?” Zion asked himself confused and frightened with the incident.

“Did I scare you young man?”

“No-Not really!” Zion replied with a trembling voice.

“Really? Seems to me like you’re trembling” said by the guys in his back.

Zion leaped forward and look back to see who’s behind him. He see a guy around his 30’s or 40’s wearing a Japanese samurai outfit with a katana on his side. The guys seem like to not harbor any ill thoughts about him so he felt at ease a little.

“Who are you old man? Why are you sneaking behind me?”

The old man seems to spaced out for a little bit.

“Oh? Ahh hahaha! Me?”

“Yeah who else do you think?” Zion asked as he is pissed with the old man’s laid back character.

“Oh hahahha! Let me formally introduce myself. My name is Nagoya Sato. I came from the Luna Empire to scout some potential newbies. I am the captain of the Red Blade Crew. May I see your E-pod?” Nagoya narrated.

“Oh sure no problem” Zion replied.

“Mr. Nagoya? Are you done?” Zion asked.

“Oh yeah! Here you can have it back” Nagoya handed back the E-pod and escorted Zion back to the Red Blade Headquarters.

At the Red Blade Headquarters.

Everyone is busy chatting, sparring, training and doing all their own stuff.

“Everyone listen! We are going to the Black Forest to hunt some pesky Mythical Beast our mission this time is to hunt the C Rank Mythical Beast Red Scar Bear. We all know that this bear is strong, it’s not a C Rank for nothing. We either subjugate it and capture alive or kill it. Either way we still complete the mission. If we successfully complete this mission our Crew will surely be promoted. Does everyone understand?” Nagoya explaining the situation and mission to the crew.

“Yes Sir!” Everyone responded.

“Now dismiss! Everyone prepare, we will depart at 4AM in the morning.”

“Seems like my very first mission is subjugation huh! A C Rank nonetheless. This time my E-pod will have its first record.” Zion being exited with himself.

“My journey to become strong will not begin. My hands are trembling with excitement. This will be my first fight. I am so excited. A C Rank Mythical Beast? Bring it on!! You will be my first stepping stone!” Zion to himself while holding his E-pod.
