《Battling Records of the Chosen One》C246. Peak Duel under Full Attention (II)

Whining~
The sixteen-meter long whip waved like a black phantom emitting sounds of sobbing, crying and howling, which was soul-stirring.
The name of the whip was Evil-spirit Whip, an ancient spiritual weapon inherited from the Huang Clan. Although it was only a high-grade Human-rank spiritual weapon, its power was mysterious and unpredictable, far superior to the weapons on the market.
Crack!
The burst of air and the rising spiritual whip made Huang Jianchen fiercer. His mass murderer figure made the audience gasped.
The strength shown by Huang Jianchen was so terrible that he was not like a teenager of Human-gang Spirit realm at all.
Compared with him, most Human-gang practitioners seemed so weak.
Lin Xun's eyes narrowed. He realized that his opponent was quite different from those he had met before. The fighting power he displayed was even more frightening than those of Earth-gang spirit realm.
Clang!
Almost at the moment when Huang Jianchen started to strike, Lin Xun’s saber Flowing Light, which was ninety centimeters long and four-fingers wide, appeared in his hand.
Swishing!
With a slight move, the saber ripped the darkness like fleeting lights and reflected the world.
“Wait!”
There were some sounds of surprise from different parts of the Arena. They seemed to have noticed something unique from Lin Xun's saber.
But for most of the audience, even if they knew that Lin Xun's saber was powerful, when it came to momentum, it seemed impossible to match Huang Jianchen's strike.
Bang!
In an instant, the collision of Evil-spirit Whip and Flowing-light Saber produced a terrible roar. The strong wind swept around, shaking up a ripple in the defensive spiritual tattoo pattern around the platform.
Huang Jianchen remained still as before.
On the other side, Lin Xun also stood with his saber in his hand without any injury.
The first blow was even.
“You’re not too bad.”
Huang Jianchen suddenly raised his lips and a bloodthirsty gloss appeared in his eyes.
Whining ~
He waved the whip and fled like a ghost. He rushed toward the other like a fierce beast that wanted to crush all the enemies before him.
Soon after, Lin Xun's figure was shrouded by thousands of whip shadows. He was nearly submerged by them. The platform was full of sharp whistle sounds which casted sting to the spines of the audience.
“Huang Jianchen was fierce as a tiger. His fighting power was strong enough to rank among the peak in the Human-gang spirit realm.
Many people were amazed and shocked by Huang Jianchen’s performance.
“Lin Xun is quite good. Although he is trapped in a tight encirclement, he go forward and retreat freely without exposing any flaws.
It was also found that although Lin Xun's figure was covered by the whip shadows, he was not immediately suppressed. On the contrary, his whole person was like a still rock withstandingthe attacks from all directions.

“Nice! It's so exciting that you can block my attack as we are in the same spiritual realm. Only an opponent like you deserves my attention and my serious attack.”
On the stage, Huang Jianchen acted out of his normal behavior, showing a bloodthirsty crazy look. Judged from that, he seemed to be satisfied with Lin Xun's performance.
This horrified many people.
When not fighting, Huang Jianchen was as silent as a stone, ordinary and insignificant. But once he started, he changed completely, exposing his ferocity and bloodthirsty madness in his actions.
He even talked more while fighting, of course, with endless arrogance.
This strong contrast made people wonder which the real Huang Jianchen was.
“Should I be glad to be praised by you?”
Lin Xun showed a smile and joked.
“You don’t have to. But if you lose too fast, I won't be happy.”
Huang Jianchen headed up and laughed, his hair flying and his brows full of craziness. His figure flashed continuously, and his fighting momentum became more and more terrible. The mass of killing intent gathered in his Evil-spirit Whip as he fought with Lin Xun.
At this time, shadows of the whip were rolling on the platform like infinite tides. Rumbling oppression was oppressing towards Lin Xun layer by layer.
Every blow contained the power of splitting mountains and destroying buildings. It was really horrifying.
Under these attacks, Lin Xun still fought rapidly. His Flowing-light Saber drew out simple but precise arcs like lightning and broke down the whip shadow one by one. His momentum might be weaker than Huang Jianchen’s, but he seemed to fight effortlessly.
This shocked many practitioners of Human-gang Spirit Realm. If they were on the stage right now, they would not be able to resist the attack of either Lin Xun or Huang Jianchen.
So this duel was absolutely a far-reaching peak fight between the two of the Human-gang spirit realm.
The atmosphere in the Arena was ignited at once, and many people stood up and shouted.
“Fight!”
“Fight!”
“Fight!”
The shout was like the surge of a tide, shocking the whole Arena.
“Kill! Kill! Kill Lin Xun! Make him lose his reputation completely and spare no chance for him to raise his head up again.”
In the box, Qi Yunxiao, Yuan Shu, and other high-ranking members from the aristocratic families also shouted. They were extremely excited.
Huang Jianchen shocked them with his power, and let them see the hope of suppressing Lin Xun. So they were full of joy and excitement.
“If he were so easy to be defeated, he would not be Lin Xun.”
Wen Mingxiu's beautiful lips were hung with a sneer. At this moment, Huang Jianchen seemed fierce and unstoppable, but she knew what terrible power Lin Xun hid under his warm and handsome appearance.

Otherwise, Lin Xun would not be able to stick to the end of the cruel Bloodthirsty Camp and pass it so smoothly; Otherwise, the assassination on the rainy night previously with hundreds of practitioners dispatched by more than ten powerful forces would not fail.
Wen Mingxiu had a vague feeling that Lin Xun was not using his real strength. He seemed to be testing the strength and waiting for the killing attack of Huang Jianchen.
If this conjecture was right, it proved that the attack of Huang Jianchen did not threaten Lin Xun at all.
Would it be true?
Wen Mingxiu was a little uncertain.
…
“Good! Lin Xun is forced to defend, and he doesn’t have the opportunity to fight back. He is doomed to be defeated.”
“What a pity. After Huang Jianxiong was crippled, he had been healing his wounds and could not come. Otherwise, he will be very happy to see this scene.”
“If possible, I really hope that Huang Jianchen can cripple Lin Xun as well lest seeds of future dangers were left.”
In the other box, the aristocratic young men from the Forbidden City were also excited with animated expressions.
Only Shie Yutang frowned slightly. He was so talented that no one else could compare with him. At first glance, he noticed that Huang Jianchen had always been unable to suppress Lin Xun. There was something wrong with this scene.
But Shie Yutang was not worried about the possibility of Lin Xun's reversal. As far as he knew, Huang Jianchen practiced a long-standing mysterious method that had not yet been displayed!
…
“Granny Wind, do you think Lin has a chance to win?”
Liu Qingyan stared at the battlefield, her heart lingering with sadness.
“Miss, you have asked me many times.”
Granny Wind felt helpless. At present, Huang Jianchen had a higher possibility of winning, but it was also difficult for him to suppress Lin in a short time.
“Granny Wind, can’t you judge who the winner is with your experience?”
Liu Qingyan was obviously not satisfied with Granny Wind’s analysis.
Granny Wind thought for a while and said, “It's hard to judge. They are all the top figures of the Human-gang realm. No one can judge the victory before the end. It is all because neither of them has shown their real ability up to now.”
Liu Qingyan frowned and was somewhat upset, but she also knew that this was a battle full of variables. No one could give a definite answer.
…
“Having not been seen for more than a year, Lin Xun not only becomes a famous ‘Master Xun’ in Mist City but also an outstanding fighter…”
Mu Wansu was shocked and was in a complicated mood. She naturally preferred Lin to the completely unfamiliar Huang.
However, at present, although Lin Xun's performance was not bad, his momentum was worse than Huang after all.
…
Similar arguments were taking place in every box at this moment where the big shots were seated. Certainly they could see through the situation of the battlefield at a glance.
Some people were surprised at the fierce power of Huang Jianchen, while others noticed Lin Xun's tenacity and calmness.
But the conclusions were all the same. It seemed very difficult to find practitioners that could keep up with Lin Xun and Huang Jianchen in the Human-gang realm around Mist City.
Even in the whole empire, Lin Xun and Huang Jianchen could be regarded as the top figures of the Human-gang Spirit realm. It was not too much to call them the chosen juveniles.
After all, it was extremely rare for both of them to have such attainments on the path of cultivation when they were only in their teens.
Of course, it was impossible for the bigwigs who had rejection and hatred toward Lin Xun to acknowledge him. On the contrary, they hoped Huang Jianchen could defeat Lin Xun at one stroke and make him depressed and crippled.
Such ideas were born by the great practitioner Yao Tuohai and more than ten powerful forces who had launched an assassination toward Lin Xun in the rainy night.
While they were talking, an earth-shaking noise burst out in the field. All of a sudden, the eyes of all the people focused on the battlefield.
Huang Jianchen at this moment was just like a demon floating in mid-air. His body surged out a lustrous green flame.
The fire was ghostly and mysterious, lighting up the sky, and dyeing the platform into a thrilling green color.
In a trance, people felt that the momentum of Huang had changed again. He was like the king who controlled the hell that made people’s hair stand on end.
“You are stronger than I expected, but the stronger you are, the happier I will be. You know, it's not easy to meet a suitable opponent for me, and you should be proud to be one.”
The tone of Huang Jianchen was frightful. His eyes were full of green and gloomy flame like a bloodthirsty ghost, “But from now on, you are doomed, without any room for maneuver.”
Peak Duel under Full Attention (III) ahead.

Travelers [DROPPED]
DROPPED. The story focuses less on dungeon building than on the why of dungeons and how they fit into the universal order. While I am working from a grand plot, the writing is going slice of life style because I need to do that to work out how things progress into that grand plot. The original story seed idea / synopsis is below. The Grand Tapestry protects Rhofhir from Primal Chaos by imposing Order via patterns. However, the patterns grow stiff, stagnant, and so the Tapestry is nearing a time of Unraveling. Evidence of past civilizations wiped out during previous Unravelings foreshadow the apocalyptic catastrophe looming over the world. The mages of the Arcane Asylum reach out across dimensions, searching for some way to prevent, or at least stall, the coming Unraveling. Among the many voices they find is a gifted graduate student researching machine-assisted telepathy -- and his gaming group. Lena never expected that the chance to play DnD with telepathy would result in her becoming an actual Dungeon Master, nor that her friends could become the bosses of her dungeon. This is, in many ways, her dream come true, but there's a catch: What happened to Brad, the creator of that telepathy machine?

A Fragmented Mind
"Hi there. My name is Richard Maddox, but my — admittedly nonexistent — friends call me Rick. I live in a world of superheroes and villains. A world filled with magic and physics-defying powers, and in this world, I'm just an ordinary, completely average 17-year-old boy. My imaginary friends, however, are as far from average as you get. You think you're good at deluding yourself? Well, stand back, because it's time for a master to show you his craft. Welcome to my life, the life of a madman." This story was originally inspired by the 'Legion' novella series written by Brandon Sanderson. If you've read those books and liked them, it might be worth giving this a read. The same goes if you haven't read them either, I guess. (Currently re-writing earlier chapters)

Flame Beneath The Snowfall
Alto is a world governed by Tones. Magic, as one might call it. Manifested through deep mental and physical conditioning, one can control the Tones in a way that is unique to them. The power to store items in gems, transfer life, affect a person's mind, and even the more primal abilities such as control of the elements. Those who have these supernatural abilities are called 'Vassals.' People that fully manifest their abilities are not as common as one might think, and not all Vassals acquire their ability through practice, given if conditions are met. In fact, those who had received much trauma manifest the Tones more frequently, albeit spontaneously. However, the rare kind of Vassals are those who manifest it from childhood. A gift, but not without its repercussions. Alto is stuck in a transitional era, where the line between modern and dated technology is blurred. One can travel to a city that has a tall skyline, bustling with people in sophisticated clothing, or a mere town governed by a lord, all the while riding on a powered vehicle. Cultures vary: Some turn to the more dated practices such as castes, others are more inclined to set equal footing on their people, led by nobility. Some are dedicated to become scholars, studying Alto's Tones, while others set foot on hunts, protecting lone towns from the creatures of some of the still-untamed lands. And the Vassals? Those willing are took under The Organization, an elusive group, its presence said to permeate all throughout Alto, taking care of Rogue Vassals that abuse their abilities and other businesses related to their side. But what is this story all about, you may ask? Well, set your sights on the upper portions of this huge landmass that is Alto. Yes, the 'whole' world is called Alto, but that is because the majority of the known people live on this large continent. Relieve yourself of the worrying tensions everywhere, and see the white snow. Trace the piercing mountaintops and focus your eyes between the valley. A town sits there. Mido. After realizing that the memories only left in his mind was the night of his town's imminent destruction in flames, a boy finds himself grasping for every fiber of his life as he lays down flat on the ground. Beneath him was soot mixed with the white snow. Fortunately, a group of investigators, who were supposed to answer their call for help, saved him from his sorry state. With a newfound second wind, but hampered by his loss of memory, he must solve his own case: Who had the audacity to set Mido, his town, aflame? Flame Beneath the Snowfall focuses on action, with a sense of adventure, but mostly the discovery of an outside world, and the protagonist's exposure to it. Add in a whisk of soft magical elements, and you get a story that I hope will be interesting to the readers. That is not to say that my work is without the sense of unnerving atmosphere, however. As a forewarning, there are elements of gore, horror, minor elements of mental trauma, etc. so it is not for all audiences. *The book is already completed. Although I have plans to continue the story (it would have to involve much larger scope in terms of world-building), I have yet to decide when to start the next entry.
