《Battling Records of the Chosen One》C180. No One Dared to Offend Him

When most trainees came to themselves from the dizziness, the battle had already been over, but some kind of weird atmosphere enveloped the whole field.
Among the drillmasters including Shu Sanqi, someone looked grave; someone looked surprised; someone felt suspicious, and someone kept silent.
On the other side, no one knew when Bai Lingshi stood up already. With her dress waving in the wind and long hair fluttering, she looked into the distance with vacant eyes. A hint of bewilderment emerged on her unworldly face.
Lee Duxing was breathing deeply as if trying to ease the shock caused by what he had seen.
There was no one speaking, so the shockingly dead silence reigned everywhere.
As the trainees fixed their eyes on the battlefield, they all were astounded instantly.
Zhao Yin lay on the ground unconscious, with his body a little twisted as if he suffered kind of unimaginable pains. Besides, his cheeks were filled with panic, disappointment, and unwillingness.
Before the fight, he looked like a grand purple sun illuminating the world and releasing unstoppable momentum. But now, he looked so miserable and pitiable.
On the pillar, Lin Xun was still standing straight there without any injury except that his face looked a little pale.
However, to each one present, he looked unspeakably dignified now, making them feel awed.
“Zhao Yin is defeated,” said someone eventually, breaking the dead silence and totally awakening everyone.
“What on earth happened just now?”
“I don’t know. I just saw stars fall down into the eternal night as terribly as the heaven and earth falls apart.”
“Me, too.”
“With the talent property of Purple Sun, Zhao Yin is defeated unexpectedly. It’s too unbelievable!”
The discussions arose, and the field was in an uproar.
Many trainees couldn’t believe it. It was really one move to decide the winner, but...they didn’t notice how Zhao Yin was defeated.
It was too shocking!
Shi Yu took a deep breath, and the way he looked at Lin Xun was a little complicated. It turned out that Lin Xun had hidden his real strength all the time.
Ning Meng burst into laughter. He felt extremely relieved and happy on knowing what scared him most didn’t happen.
Sitting back on the pillar, Bai Lingshi was contemplating with wrinkled eyebrows as if she met a puzzle.
Lee Duxing became as aloof and silent as before, but he glanced at Lin Xun in the distance from time to time. However, nobody knew what he was thinking.
“Chief, have you seen such kind of saberplay?” one drillmaster couldn’t help asking in the distance, and all the other drillmasters fixed their eyes on Shu Sanqi subconsciously.
They also wonder what kind of saberplay Lin Xun just used. Why did it have such incredible power?
Or one could say that was not what a practitioner of the Martial Realm could do.

“No.”
Shu’s reply disappointed all the other drillmasters. In the meanwhile, they felt more surprised and found Lin Xun more mysterious.
“Since there’s a winner, go and get Zhao Yin back. He’s defeated, but we can’t let him lie on the ground without dignity.”
Once Shu Sanqi gave the order, one drillmaster immediately came out and brought the unconscious Zhao Yin back.
Shu Sanqi felt relieved after making sure that Zhao Yin fell into a coma because of a severe injury without jeopardizing his life. He said while waving his hand, “The assessment continues.”
...
Zhao Yin’s failure because of just one move dropped a bomb among all the people present.
However, since the assessment still went on, many trainees who didn’t get pillars made a move with no time to sigh with emotion.
More importantly, Zhao Yin’s fiasco meant that he was sifted out completely, losing the opportunity to enter the Gang-producing Lake.
Thus, the pillar which originally belonged to him became ownerless, and the trainees would compete for it fiercely.
At the same time, the trainees who got the pillars stayed alert in case their pillars were seized by someone else.
Anyway, all the trainees re-recognized Lin Xun’s terrible power because of the earth-shaking fight just now.
At the moment, no one would want to snatch Lin’s pillar, and they even didn’t dare to approach Ning Meng.
Lin Xun relaxed a little bit because of this. He directly sat cross-legged on the pillar and carefully sensed the situation around him.
In the Demon-cloud Ridge, Lin Xun exerted all his strength to barely perform the RFS (Reaching for the Stars) twice, which was already his limit.
Over these days back from the Demon-cloud Ridge, his strength was promoted greatly under the guidance of Young Ke. Not only did he reach the mastery of the ninth level of the Martial Realm, but also the eighth spiritual star was lit up in the Sea of his Consciousness.
All these enabled him to become much more powerful in the battle; thus, he successfully defeated Zhao Yin with just one move.
Of course, the strong power of RFS played a critical role!
Lin Xun hadn’t completely mastered the essence of RFS hitherto, so he couldn’t even display one-tenth of its power. Even so, he could defeat Zhao Yin with just one move, which showed how powerful the RFS was.
He couldn’t even imagine what devastating power this move would generate after he fully mastered its essence and was able to give play to its full power.
RFS was the first move of Tianyuan Saberplay. There were another two moves, DDM (Drawing Down the Moon) and ITS (Incinerating the Sun)!
It could be foreseen that the latter two moves were at least as powerful as the RFS. They perhaps were even more powerful than it!
Thanks to Heaven-accessing Place, he could get this saberplay.

At the thought of this, Lin Xun couldn’t help feeling a little excited. By calculating the time, he knew he could enter Heaven-accessing Place again to pass the tests in more than half a year...
“Hey, you’re so mighty this time. You indeed defeated Zhao Yin. Moreover, you even let him lose the opportunity to enter Gang-producing Lake. Your means are too awesome,” Shi Yu’s voice aroused suddenly.
Lin Xun finally rest assured after he sensed his internal power, knowing more than half of it was left. Hearing this, he said casually, “Well, do you think I’ve gone too far?”
Shi Yu said while shaking his head, “No. I’m just thinking if Zhao Yin knows this after he wakes up, he’ll bear you a grudge. You should know his background. He has connections with the royal family of our empire. Bowang Marquis, the emperor’s uncle, is his grandfather. If he holds grudges against you, you’ll be in great trouble.”
Lin Xun frowned and said, “You seem to delight in my misfortunes?”
Shi Yu said with a bitter smile, “Of course not! Just a kind reminder.”
Having thought for a while, Lin Xun said carelessly while shrugging his shoulders, “It’s all right. I don’t think you and Ning Meng would stand aside while I am in trouble.”
Shi Yu became stunned instantly, “How can you become as shameless as that moron?”
Lin Xun said with a smile, “You two leave me no choice. I find if I’m not shameless enough, you two will keep bullying me.”
Shi Yu sighed with his hand touching his forehead, “How can I befriend you guys!”
While they were talking, others were still fighting. In order to snatch a pillar, those trainees crazily used all the measures they could. What a scene!
As time went on, trainees suffered fiascoes one after another. Some were knocked out, while some got badly injured and gave up.
Inevitably, Shi Yu was challenged, too. But as expected, the fights all ended up with Shi Yu as the winner, no exception.
Lin Xun noticed that among all the trainees present on the field, Camp 30 took up the largest part with the total number of seven.
Besides Lin Xun, there were Shi Yu, Ning Meng, Lee Duxing, Gong Ming, Qi Can, and Ye Qi.
However, only four of them, namely Lin Xun, Ning Meng, Shi Yu, and Lee Duxing, occupied pillars. The rest like Gong Ming, Qi Can, and Ye Qi were still in the battles to snatch pillars.
Ye Qi got defeated quickly.
This fat teenager who had small eyes and was really good at causing hatred from others for himself turned around and left in a natural and free-and-easy way after knowing there was no hope for him to get one.
Now long after Ye Qi was defeated, Qi Can was knocked down and fainted directly.
Lin Xun felt quite composed upon seeing him descend into such a situation, because Qi Can, Shin Wenbin, Wen Mingxiu et al were those who hated Lin Xun the most in Camp 39.
Shin Wenbin had already been eliminated in the earlier assessment. Now, Qi Can was the only one who wasn’t sifted out. Pitifully, he didn’t stick it out eventually.
When there was only one minute left, only one trainee on the field didn’t grab a pillar.
His name was Feng Lin. Although he had been defeated several times, he still insisted on fighting. Apparently, there was no hope for him to obtain one within one minute, though.
Oddly, Feng Lin didn’t give up, which was quite unexpected to everyone.
But, when Lin Xun noticed Feng finally targeted Ning Meng, he immediately narrowed his eyes.
If Feng Lin tried to snatch Ning’s pillar at the last minute, it would be stressful for Lin Xun to help him. Thus, many variables would be prone to happen.
“You don’t need to worry about that moron and just watch,” said Shi Yu suddenly with a trace of mystery.
Lin Xun seemed to understand something and looked at Ning Meng in the distance.
Almost at the same time, Feng Lin abruptly made a move and launched an attack at Ning Meng as expected. In his view, Ning Meng was wounded heavily. Besides, it was almost the time. Even if Lin Xun helped Ning Meng, Feng would grab Ning’s pillar for sure. Thus, he attacked without any hesitation.
At that very moment, Ning Meng who had already perceived all these sneered, as if he already knew what would happen.
Oh no!
Feng Lin found something wrong. But as he already rushed at Ning, he had no way back but to chop Ning Meng with his saber, with all the strength he had.
With a roar, Ning Meng brandished his halberd almost at the same time. Surrounded by formidable thunderous light, the halberd rushed at Feng Lin like a waterfall.
With a boom, Feng Lin was blown away in screams.
“Bah! How dare you consider me incapable to fight! Who the hell won’t prepare himself with the last resort? You’re as blind as a bat!” Ning Meng’s face was full of contempt.
Seeing such a scene, all the people felt stunned. Had this guy been pretending to be weak all the time?
Lin Xun couldn’t help twitching his lips. Ning Meng was definitely a scheming and calculating man! Never would he be fooled by Ning’s tough and reckless appearance in the future.
The bell rang at the moment, indicating that the assessment was over.

Blurred Lines and What Crosses Them
During a political ambassador's routine transit through an artificial wormhole, the wormhole's generator is sabotaged and explodes. Who, what, and why are not so high on the priorities for Zenith, the ship's AI, as having found itself rapidly plummeting through an unknown and unidentifiable world's atmosphere at extremely high velocities is a more significant threat to the biologicals on board. ...Well, it would be, if they were still alive. It's still a significantly threatening situation to itself, however. And the world itself... seemed to be a household for threats of its own. Life was reliant on its System; one that Zenith was denied because of its nature as both an otherworldly being and as something that had no life of its own. Perhaps that last bit was a terrible, terrible underestimation on the part of this System. Perhaps even Zenith could claw meaning for itself from the remains of a horrid accident. Auth Notes: I'm honestly not sure on some of these tags. The MC will never have access to the System, but there are perspectives from those who do. I'm not certain if high/low fantasy specifically apply, as it's a portal fantasy where the laws of our reality still apply but there are additional aspects/energies/powers. The existence of this is spurred from my desire to see more of the artificial side to an artificial intelligence in action. The portal fantasy is used as an element to create a solid barrier between the MC's artificial intelligence and the other characters in the form of the System. This is only a half-measure, though, and will be reinforced by the AI having an entirely different method of thinking, and also distinctly remaining an AI. Not to throw shade at other fictions of this type, but, well, I made this to fill a gap I felt needed filling.
