《Wish-Fulfilling System》Chapter 7: Skill Tasks: Cloning and Disguise

With each skill level, the exp requirement rises significantly. For example, already by level 8, Lian would need 100 million exp to reach the next level. Such an absurd amount would be impossible to reach within his lifetime; especially considering that he wanted to learn a plethora of skills.
Lian: “Hey system… my brotha! Bro! Homie! I seem to have a little problem with my exp. I don’t know if it’s an error… but do I really need 10 times the exp to level up, every level?”
System: “Yes.”
Lian: “…”
Lian murmuring: “So stingy…”
Lian: “Okay… so… is there any way to gain a large amounts of exp for a skill?”
System: “The user can take on tasks for each main skill. This will likely be the only way to reach the user’s predetermined goal before the end of their lifespan.”
Lian: “WTF!? So you couldn’t tell me this before? What if I lost time training like a noob? The exp waste!”
System: “The user never asked.”
Lian murmuring: “Lazy fuckin’…”
System: “Did the user say anything?”
Lian: “Ahem… no…no… anyways, please go on.”
System: “For each skill, a set of random tasks must be given before the user is able to reach the peak. These tasks reward the user with significant amounts of exp, allowing them to level up.”
System: “Since the user’s house is inconvenient, they will be transported to a somewhat random location. However, the area chosen will be in tandem with the users’ desires and reservations.”
System: “Once the skill to train is chosen, the user will be given a two-way teleportation ticket to a location with the specifications previously mentioned. Only one location can be teleported to at once.”
System: “The goal for each time you teleport will be to master the skill in question before teleporting somewhere else and moving on to train another skill.”

Lian: “That seems pretty exciting and it aligns quite well with my goals… There should be more right?”
System: “Yes. As the user had previously requested for ways of ensuring the privacy and safety of loved ones, a few measures among many will be put in place to prevent any mishaps regarding a recognized identity.”
System: “For now, the user will be provided with both a clone and disguise ability. Unfortunately, these skills will not be permanent.”
System: “However, if the user masters the assigned skill within their first location, these abilities will be forever attained. Unlike some other abilities, these ones evolve and improve with time.”
Lian: “Two-for-one special… all right… I’m digging it…”
System: “Using the clone skill, the user will be creating an extension of themselves. Once the clone is teleported, both bodies will be able to train skills simultaneously in their different environments.”
System: “It is a difficult concept to fathom, so in short, the user will be able to split their consciousness between both these existences, without having any effect on their performance.”
System: “Any injuries to the clone won’t affect the main body. Nonetheless, the clone will still experience pain. Furthermore, if a clone dies, the punishment will be a small regression in the size of the member beneath the user’s pants.”
Lian shuddered. He was focusing intently on the details, but this piece of information rattled him.
“WTF!? Why is this system so obsessed with my junk? Have I slept with its wife in a previous lifetime…?”
“Regardless, I don’t plan on ever dying with my clone. As long as I don’t act like a stuck-up hot-head, I should be fine.”
Lian: “Ahem…”
System: “Continuing on, the user’s disguise ability will allow them to transform into someone matching the traits of the location in which they have chosen.”

System: “The system will also create a government identity and online bank-account for the clone carrying this disguise. Currency conversions and inputting bills or coins onto the account will be solved by the system.”
System: “The current level of the disguise ability will only allow the user to create one permanent disguise per clone. No other disguise -physical or on paper, can be formed haphazardly. The disguise will not only change the users’ face, but it will also affect the body structure, and voice.”
System: “There are also details such as restrictions for future clones to prevent cheating and evolving your disguise abilities once your first skill has been mastered. These will be discussed later on when those issues are relevant to the user’s circumstances.”
Lian: “Wow! That’s a lot to take in… but it’s damn well-thought out. So I’ll be able to train in both bodies at the same time?”
System: “Yes, but the main body will not be able to perform tasks for the most part; so its growth will likely be slower.”
Lian: “That’s a good point. What about my exp points for leveling up my character? I noticed that there’s no real ratio with regards to skill exp and regular exp. When I am doing tasks, will the growth be faster?”
System: “It will. Regrettably, there is no direct correlation between skill levels and character exp. However, significant amounts of skill exp will likely help the user level up their character. There are many factors to take into consideration.”
System: “Such being the case, the calculation of character exp is flexible to prevent the user from cheating. This way, time won’t be wasted on learning multiple skills to low levels to farm character exp. The best advice to the user is to continuously take on tasks and to train to their utmost abilities. ”
Lian: “Sigh… That’s a bit unnerving but at least I can directly calculate skill exp….”
Lian murmuring: “I’ll gain a few levels first, and maybe by then, I’ll find out a way to mass level… hehehe…”

The Children of the Divine Limit
A realistic, psychological isekai: What pushes people to rejoice, to torture, to sacrifice, to kill? What gives some the will to survive and thrive in a new land and others the craving for dominance and exploitation? What would those who grew up without power all their lives do when given the approval and blessings of God Himself? How far will someone go to protect those close to them? How far will someone go to exact vengeance against an unjust world? How far can someone go before the abyss looks back at them? "Everything in the world is about sex — except sex. Sex is about power." - Oscar Wilde “Nearly all men can stand adversity, but if you want to test a man's character, give him power.” - Abraham Lincoln Greed is the worst of all the deadly sins; all of human history lays out the evidence to support this thesis. Consider all of the above before reading this story: A 12th-grade high school class is sent to another world; a world of sword and magic called Omicron where other-worlders are revered as heroes given the divine blessing of the Lord God Sapiora, creator of Omicron's human race. It is currently a world at war. The humans of Omicron need these divine heroes as weapons against the Demon Emperor and the demihuman forces of the evil god Azazelin. However, two students within the class, Ajax Leonid and Shaula Seikennith, haven't been given the hero's blessing. They've been given something else, something more curious; the blood of a deity who noticed their specialness. As a result, after escaping the clutches of their summoners who tried to kill them for their lack of heroic potential, Ajax and Shaula enter the new world of Omicron with no one on their side except each other. While wading through rivers of blood, Ajax and Shaula seek a stable life, a life where they can salvage happiness. They have each other above all else. Perhaps the cost will be worth it. Perhaps not.

The Core of a Factory
An abandoned steampunk arms factory, in the middle of a conflict torn former state of the Empire it served, gains a soul. This transforms it into a Lord, capable of turning land into power. Beset by enemies on all sides it must figure out how to win the war its creators lost a century ago. This is a progressive Dungeon Core novel (which is to say the core will progress and expand in scale, eventually) across multiple dimensions with different characteristics (e.g. steampunk, magic, mythological). It has rationalist leanings (paragraphs of reasoning) and litrpg leanings (there are stat blocks). The core game mechanical idea is something like "what if different flavors of magic power actually did come from controlling land" and then the story is: "what if there was a flavorless (artifact deck) dungeon core". Chapters will be relatively short (my aim is that in three column format each would fit on a wide screen monitor), the first few chapters - setting up the main character and mechanics - are currently the longest in the entire series. I write chapters in blocks, and then release them one a weekday (M-F; 6 PM GMT, unless RoyalRoad's publish thing screws up) until I run out. There may be a few days of gaps here and there if someone finds an egregious error I have to re-write around or if I am behind. In general though one can read this once a weekend. I may do slight retconns and edits, I'll make sure to put it in an authors note if I do.
