《A Soul's Wish》Magic Theory and Practices with Arianna Lunaris

Hello everyone. This is Arianna Lunaris and I am here to guide you through the magical world of Alodia. I know that most of you reading this are ordinary commoners who have never used magic so I am here to teach you a little bit about it. Consider it an honor. I taught Yuki all this already, when we left Orfurt, but he just kept looking at me with that stupid, donkey face. I don’t think he understood anything. Hope you are a bit brighter.

Today’s lesson will be on magic hierarchy and Spell trees. As you already know magic is the force that drives all aspects of the world of Alodia. While it might not be so obvious at first, everyone constantly enhances themselves with spells to make their life easier. The skills they use are divided into trees. Physical enhancement tree, General tree, Elemental tree, Light tree and dark tree.

Farmers (levels 10-20) use low level body enhancements, soldiers (levels 20-30) use weapon and armor enhancements and minor spell casting, knights (levels 30-40) use stronger versions of enhancements and spells than that of soldiers and finally justicars and rulers (levels 40+) use devastating, unique spells and strongest enhancements.

Individuals at higher levels, like myself, have a variety of spells at disposal. You might be wondering if a person like that is able to use each and every spell their level allows. Short answer is yes... and no. Also, what’s the point of using a lesser lightning bolt when you can obliterate everything in your sight with Lightning Dragon’s Wrath.

Lower level quality of life spells don’t require any training and they don’t take much of your stamina, so they are easy to use. Higher level spells, however, require rigid training and concentration, and they take a considerable amount of stamina. That is why higher level individuals usually decide upon one spell tree that they will specialize in and train in it relentlessly. Practicing and perfecting the chosen spell tree can sometimes take years on end. Basically, one’s affinity to magic determines the strength of spells but the training allows one to wield them correctly.

The training involves very specific practices but I can’t be bothered to talk about that right now. I think we are done with today’s lesson. See you next time, commoners!
