I came back to myself quickly. It felt like i was only having light round of meditation. My legs crossed. Balancing my ass that was seated. Just now my brain downloaded alot of information. Straight crammed into my mind. Instead of a headache like you'd think rather noggin felt numb and tingly. Like ants crawling all over my scalp. Maybe this was some form of racial memory. Either way i was fucking with it! my position being comfortable to me. I hopped right into casting my first spell. At first nothing happened, Disappointing. I sighed while looking at my hand. Well quiting was for bitches. (Not talking about the ladies... dont need my ass kicked) I was trying to envoke fire strike. Initially i imagine i looked stupid. Alone with my peepers closed in a dangerous swampy forest. Chanting -firestrike-,-fire strike-,-fire strike- over and over again. I wasnt shouting it though. That would be truly foolish Not exactly far away from society, well i was slain already by the hands of man. (I was deeper in. And i lost my direction) i somehow wasnt far into the swamps. As of yet i wasn't sure how this rebirth thang worked. It looked like i was in the snake and ooze area. To be real i expected Eldest to warn me of any fuckiery. I kept my eyes fully closed entrusting in what i was going through. Maybe i was going about this wrong. Sometimes achieve something outside of the normal. You have to suspend your beliefs. Plus i noticed i was being a little obtuse or being a dumbshit. I wasn't focusing on the important aspects. I tried to find my center. I fell into my body. from my mind, i traveled down the skull throughout the throat brushing past my heart Rushing past my lungs and other internal organs Into the the pit of my stomach, only to continue on. Finally resting at spot a about two finger widths beneath my belly button. Inside this space was a green hill, saturated in sprigs of sweetleaf In the midst of it was a path. I stuff sprigs into my metaphorical pockets along the way. At the end of the path a small shrine sat. You couldn't walk into yet it had three steps. Inside the small shrine was a small bonfire. Infront of the fire were three sticks of unlit incenses Incased in an ornate golden piece. The piece had holes designed to insert incenses Its only had a few more that remain unfilled. Unsure of what that meant I withdrew the incenses, stuck them close to the small fire Once lit i inserted them back into the golden piece Knelt infront of the flame with my fist over my heart and then i rose my fist simultaneously as my body rose. Instantly i felt heat spread through out my body I was back sitting and breathing were i begun This time i willed it to happen. I fully intended the spell to activate. I fed my will to the flames. Squeezing one eye open to see if anything was going On I jumped in suprise like doing a jumping jack, of course deactivating the spell in the process. Yet for a second warmth tickled my hand and fire danced around my fingers. How Delightful. This shit actually worked. I'd die once and been reborn, while not better than ever. For sure i was better off than before. I felt Encouraged. I attempted doing magick repeatedly until i caught on like rat-trap.. When i felt my fires growing low i stopped playing around. I was still in the wild. After about 20 minutes of chatting with eldest. My furnace felt full again. I felt a little hungry though. While eating some food i bought out from my storage ring i thought about what i was doing. Magick was like a mindset. If you thought you could do it then maybe you could. If you intended it to happen it just would. It needed an energy source and a mind to direct it. That was all. The forces of nature required years of intensive training of the mind and senses to fully If you could switch on the mindset. It would become Like falling into a trance. -Fireball- went off smoothly-with out a hitch. A glob of fire formed either in my hand or anywhere in front of me. I could propell it where i intended it to go. If it went to far it became nothing more than a wave of hot air. I could form two simultaneously. They weren't that strong though, on impact against. A random tree went up in flame , quickly became swallowed. It wasn't what i wanted. I wanted ashes on the spot. But beggars. Next i cast the fire servant spell. It formed from a tiny spark of flame. It caming into this kneeling to me on one knee. Its stance was casual, it seemed to be standby. looking at me. After a while with no commands coming Its Body orientated itself to me but its head was swiveling around in 360 degress taking in everything. It was kind of unsettling. So i made it stop. Shrugging my shoulders i sent it off randomly. About ten minutes later i felt it expired by force. Welp wasnt proceeding that way. I now knew a little something of how all the Magick i had in my arsenal actually functioned. I forsee alot of experimenting concerning my abilities ahead of me. I figured it was time to make like a tree. The only thing i knew about the abilities is what i had been told. I was fire retardant. TO BAD I WASNT LIVING IN A VOLCANO! the added eyes of Eldest and Testy the dummy (Fire servant) made it me not feel as frightened. There i said it this place became spooky as an ugly grandmother in a 2 piece bathingsuit. Spooky. i wasn't comfortable without any weapons or gear. This actually pissed me off and made me want to rage quit. "what happened to my gear dear Eldest that shit was expensive? I couldnt keep the irritation from my voice. He tapped under his chin as if he was deep In thought. "I think...that the flames of your rebirth must have smelted them. I didn't see them." Disheartened. Crestfallen. Truly heartbroken i fell to my knees about to start bawling. Real tear jerker! "Ok, ok. Jokes over" he started cackling maniacally. Irritated i took a swing at him. He dodged me nimbly. Uhn-uuhn-un. If you hit my little bird brain i might forget just what happened to your precious gear. He swerved expertly through my swats and punches. I fervantly wished to catch him with a haymaker. Sighing in defeat i physical let it go. (For now I'd stop trying to knock him out, he was just to fast, I'll get him when he least expects it) Eldest please tell me what happened to my gear? (Asshat) i said sweetly asked like a studious little brother. "You can't feel it cause your a lame...but! Theres a small window of fire hidden in your shadow. Your gear is hidding in there. The flames of your Rebirth baptized your gear other wise you have just left it where was standing and been reborn naked. Why else would you have your clothes and storage ring? You kind of a dumbass right?" After he was done blathering on and feeling himself. I caught him with a swat! I felt dumb for even asking his advice. Bastard. He wasn't lying though something was in my shadow. After i peeped for long enough i could just see it. like a window. Inside it a scorned piece of scorched earth rhythmically breathing fire from patches of exposed earth. like a momentous blade of abject fury stabbed repeatedly until it exposed the bowels off the earth. On top on some unblemished land my gear sat comfortably. I grab it and it fell out of my shadow.

And for the brightest six students of King’s College, even greater opportunities reside in the legendary Class Euripides; a class which she will fight for a seat at with all her wits and will. And to Lumia, the newly Ascended girl whose smile never fades, King’s College is a terrifying puzzle just like everything else in the floating city of Plato, the last bastion of humanity. Molting the Mortal Coil
Reincarnated as a child in a new world a mild mannered programmer, named Sage, finds himself struggling to survive. The road to immortality is paved with danger, treasure, and conflict. This mystical eastern world is filled with Demonic Beasts, Treacherous Cultivators, and Extraordinary Legacies. Follow Sage on his journey to adapt to this new world, and find out if he can overcome the limitations of body, mind, and soul. Will he rise to the occasion and become a hero? Or maybe he'll turn to the dark side and end up a villain? Molting the Mortal Coil is more of a slower paced journey. It's not about endless battles and conquering the next bad guy who spits on the main characters shoes or sends him a funny look. There's also not a treadmill of tournaments or love interests. It's more of a slower burn with lots of, and hopefully not too much, world building. It's still supposed to be stuffed with action, but that won't pick up for a while since we start with a weakling. The first 30 chapters have a lot of time-skipping, but stay with me it gets better. I plan to re-write and add more to the first 30 in the future, but if you can push through I feel it gets much more fun after! Updates will be weekly.
