10 years before the explosion - The Coliseum

A little girl was watching the yearly tournament with her father with extreme excitement

After a rumor of an undisputable prodigy that won last year tournament, all the warriors and battle mage around the world came to challenge him,making it one of the best tournaments ever in the history of the Coliseum.

But even with all those fighters of all kind of age and sizes, prince paul won fight after fight and now he was in his final fight against the sss adventure and 10 tournaments champion.

The fight within the two legendary fighters was engrave in the minds of all spectators and this final showdown was the fuel that would feed the fire of this little girl for years to come.

" Father, how can I be that strong?"(girl)

"If you have talent in inner mana, train your hardest every day without rest and have proper teachers,you may be able to at least put a fight against them"(father)

"Wow, is it that hard?"(girl)

"Of course, it's not easy to be the best of the best"(father)

1 day after the explosion - The palace

A blond girl was walking around the palace after being summon by his father. After asking the servants were to find him, she was lead to the courtyard and found her father resting on a chair and drinking some tea

"Oh Aria, I am glad that you could come"(father)

"Hello father, why did you ask me to come to the palace?i was in the middle of training"(aria)

After taking a sip from his cup the father signaled a chair with his hand but aria refused

"Well, I need you to do something for me. I want you to become prince julian bodyguard"(Father)

"That slob, why?"(aria)

Aria didn't have a good impression of the prince, since he was a lazy bum that only leach of the royal family money. He was the brother of his idol paul, yes, but that only make it worst, how could someone have such an amazing brother and be such a disappointment.

She knew how amazing Paul is, since she trained all her life and have talent in inner mana but still couldn't hold a candle to his power, but to just give up, like the prince did, was unacceptable. Since the day aria saw prince Paul fight in the coliseum, she has trained harder than anyone and not only did she defeated men of the same age, but even men 10 or 20 years older and even her instructors. And for her to become the bodyguard of such a person.......

"you know that we use to support Prince Paul for the king position right? but now that all the royal family is gone and the only one left is Prince julian, every one is going to try to get on his good side"(father)

" Why should we try? I am sure that Paul wouldnt day on an explosion of that level, and besides why getting on the prince good side got to do with me been his bodyguard"(Aria)

"We don't know if Paul or anyone else in the royal family is alive and getting on the prince good side wouldn't hurt. And the reason of you becoming his bodyguard is simple, as the general of this kingdom is my duty to protect the royal family, and since the prince life if in danger now i must make sure that the prince has the best protection available, and that protection is you"(General)

Aria felt a little proud that her father the general gave her such high standards, but she didn't realize that the general was actually hoping to honey trap the prince with the excuse of protecting him.

But no matter how proud she felt about her father words, she really didn't want to waste her valuable training time in someone who didn't deserved. Even if right now he was the crown prince, she was sure that paul should come back sooner or later so getting in his good side was pointless.

The problem was, she didn't want to directly refuse her father ask so...

"Thank you father for having such a high opinion of my abilities, but shouldnt someone older and with more experience be a better bodyguard?i am sure there should be at least a few better candidates"(Aria)

"Nonsense, after Prince Paul, you are the strongest person I know and besides we don't know who we can't trust since we don't know who did it, making you my best option"(General)

Aria had to admit that it was a good point,with all the conspiracy theories out there, it was hard to know who to trust and who was more trust worthy than his own daughter. So instead of trying to convince his father to look for someone else, she chose to make the prince chose someone else

"Ok father, I am going to try, but i cant promise that the prince will agree to take me as his personal bodyguard"(Aria)

"I am sure there wont be any problems, who in his right mind would refuse you as his bodyguard"(General)

i will make sure he refuse, and since he is famous for his quirks, i am sure father wont be surprised if he does(Aria)

1 day after the explosion - The courtyard

While waiting for the prince to arrive, Aria was thinking for the best way to make sure the prince didn't take her as her bodyguard. The best she could come up with was to ask for a duel against him to show her abilities and then beat him senseless.

She was thinking of other options when aria saw two persons approach her, one was a 50 years or butler with a monocle in his eye, and the other was a black-haired 15 years old boy with a blue face.

So the rumors are true, he really HAS his face all blue"(aria)

"You are prince Julian right?the blue face gave it away"(armor girl)

"yes, do you need something?"(prince)

Aria draw her sword and while pointing it at him

"prince, I demand a duel"(armor girl)

The prince gave her a confused look for a second and then ask

"why?"(prince)

"so you can see my abilities as your bodyguard of course"(aria)

"wait a minute, why do i need to test your abilities as my bodyguard"(prince)

"because my father general Rawson ask me to become your bodyguard since your safety is a priority to the country now and its hard to find people you can trust to such an important duty"(aria)

That actually make the prince think for a second. Maybe Aria shouldnt have made such a strong argument if she wanted to avoid been a bodyguard, but since she spend most of the time training, she lacked manipulation skills.

"ok, it makes sence to put a trustworthy bodyguard near me since all my family was in an explosions and still missing, but is it really necessary for you and me to duel?"(prince)

She actually prepared for this question, since it made sence to refuse under the circumstance, so with determination and a face that wouldn't take no for an answer

"Yes, how else can you see my abilities as a bodyguard if you don't test it first hand"(Aria)

The prince tried to said something else, but after seen that she wouldn't stop until he said yes, with a sigh

"fine, but under one condition, you can't use your inner mana and we use edgeless metal swords, since I wouldn't survive 5 seconds if you go full force"(prince)

"no problem"(aria)

She was actually happy that her plan worked so far and the only part left was to beat him senseless so he would refuse her as a bodyguard. She had trained for years on how to use her inner mana all the time, but she was sure that against the prince, even if she gave him that level of handicap, she could still beat the cra* out of him

"Ok, l need time to get ready, so go grab two metal edgeless sword from the army and meet me here"(prince)

After saying that the prince left, so Aria asked a maid where the armory was and went there to ask for the swords

When she returned with the sword a small crow gathered around the courtyard and the prince was in the middle of it dressed in a fancy leather armor and a utility belt

"Are you ready?(aria)

"ready, remember that you can't use your inner mana"(prince)

"no problem"(aria)

Aria was confident in her victory, so she handed him a sword, and with the other she put a stance and stop using her inner mana.

The prince also put a stand and pointed his sword at her. A servant got with them and with a hand signal

"readyyyyy go"(servant)

The moment they parried, Aria realised that she had been overconfident. Since she couldn't relay in her inner mana increase in strength, moving a heavy armor and a metal sword was difficult, even with her muscle training.She also relied in the mana for endurance and reflex, making the fight more taxing. To make it worst, since she used inner mana as a reflex now, it was difficult to stop doing it and she needed to concentrate, diminishing her reaction speed. Finally, the prince wasnt a novice with the sword like she expected, making it harder to beat him senseless

So even with all the skills and training she had done over the years, the prince was leisurely blocking all her attacks without effort no matter how hard she striked and getting more tired every second.

After 5 minutes of endless strikes from Aria, she tried to catch her breath for a second, but in that moment the prince took the opportunity and while locking his sword with hers, he pushed her with his full body, making her fall on her ass and pointed his sword at her.

"my win"(prince)

Watching him smile in an obnoxious way after beating her in such a umiliating way made her completely mad in rage, she instantly activated her inner mana, and with a boost in speed she went under the prince sword and punch him in the guts, sending him flying 15 meters.

The prince got up after that with a pained face and a hand in his stomach, but without caring that he could have killed him with that punch or what would happen if she hit him again and again and again in the face, she started to approach him.

But just before she could punch him in the face(and send his head flying 15 meters) the prince face look absolutly shocked and pointing behind her

"oh no, a red dragon"(prince)

and Aria panic and looked behind her but all she could see was a girl with red hair

"wha..?(aria)

but before she could finish, some green powder was blown all over her face and she instantly fell sleep
