1 day after the explosion - Magic university

After seeing his sister, the prince went for a hug with tears in his eyes. He was glad that Rebecca was alive, but more importantly, he was finally free of his royal responsibilities, or so he hoped.

Before he could hug her or even finish his sentence, the prince got completely frozen by a spell.

"James, i thought i told you not to bring anyone, so what is Julian doing here?"(Rebecca)

The arch mage turn a little pale but still answer

"I know what you said, but i believe that the prince should know you are still alive. Besides, only you can properly explain what happened inside the church"(arch mage)

"but before that, you really should unfrozen him first"(arch mage)

With an annoyed look, Rebecca cast a heating spell and when all the ice was gone, she also cast a dry spell for the prince cloths.

The prince shiver at the thought, he knew not only she has the ability, she would do it if she want it. The worst part was that she smiled a little when he shivered just now.

Rebecca gave him a smile and look like saying she knew what he was thinking, and she probably could.

"-ahem- come on big sis, you are way more capable than me, and even if you only had the support of the magic faction

before, nobody would complain if you take the throne"(prince)

"It doesn't matter, i never wanted the throne and now that i am "dead" i can do whatever i want. And besides, as long as i keep making new spells and formulas, the magic university are perfectly happy in providing me whatever i want, right James?"(Rebecca)

"Money of course, depending on who won, a lot of resources would go to "help" those that supported them. If prince Paul won, the military would get the money, with Jorge the nobles and with Alice the people"(arch mage)

"yeah, i get that, but now that there are no competition, if you press for Rebecca for queen, she can easily get the throne and you get your "help" as you said"(prince)

"nonononono, you got it wrong, it's not like we wanted Rebecca to be queen since we really don't really need more funding. We wouldn't complain if we got more money, yes, but we were more afraid that the other princes would cut our resources in favor of their faction. "And why shouldn't i tell everyone you are alive big sis? as long as people know that you are alive, i am free of responsibility since everyone in the country would press for you to become queen"(Prince)

"simple, if you do that, i WILL teleport you to the other side of the planet"(Rebecca)

When she gave him an evil smile while saying that, the prince and even the arch mage got white as paper.

"and besides, as long as you promise that you wont cut the university fundings, i am sure they will help you in any way they can"(Rebecca)

"now you go back to the palace and pretend this conversation never happen"(Rebecca)

Yeah yeah, don't think i am giving up that easily, doesn't matter how many time i have to get frozen, i wont let it go until you agree to rule the kingdom instead of me(prince thought while glaring at her)

"Wait, you forgot to tell him about the explosion"(Arch mage)

"oh right, the rest of the family should be alive"(Rebecca)

"what do you mean?"(prince)

"Like its sound, none of them should have died in the explosion. Both our parents were the body doubles, Paul wouldn't die with that level of explosion, Jorge was taken away by the priestess at the time and Alice have enough artifacts on herself that she never was in any real danger. The only reason i survived was because I could feel a dangerous distortion in the mana and teleported away just in time before the temple exploded"(Rebecca)

The prince was shock, he didn't know if he was surprise, glad, angry or scared. probably a mix of all of them at the same time.

"wait, are you sure? none of them have show up yet"(prince)"

"i don't know why none of them have show up yet, but i am sure. From the start, i knew that mom and dad were fakes, but since they do it a lot i wasn't surprised"(prince)

"they do it a lot? i didn't know"

"I am not surprised, there are a lot of things you don't know little brother"(Rebecca said smiling)

"haha, really funny"(prince)

"well, teasing aside, if you wanna know, they are really expensive dolls that as long as you give them mana, you can either control them remotely or put them in autopilot with an 80% accuracy for 12 hours. They have some short comings like they can't eat or its possible to know if they are fake if you really pay attention to the mana around them, but they are perfect for events like this"(Rebecca)

"eh miss Rebecca, i think that beside you, nobody else should be able to tell the difference by the mana"(arch mage)

monster....(prince)

"really? well whatever,my point being they were definitely fake, and the rest of them should be alive, or at least survived the explosion"(Rebecca)

"Well, at list that some good news, i was really worried for their safety"(Prince)

and my freedom(prince)

"And your freedom"(Rebecca said with a smile)

"like you are one to talk"(prince also gave her a smile)

After a moment of looking at each other in the eyes

"so any clues to where they are or how to find them?"(prince)

"The king and queen, no idea, they are too crafty to be found. Paul should be at the other side of the continent thanks to the explosion. Jorge should be with the priestess or at least the priestess should have some information if you find her and Alice could be anywhere depending of what kind of artifacts she was wearing"(Rebecca)

"hmmm, i think i have a couple of ideas on how to find them, thanks for the info sis"(prince)

"yeah yeah, can you leave now please, i was in the middle of something"(Rebecca)

"No problem, the sooner i start, the more chances are that we found them, see ya soon big sis"(prince)

With that, the prince quickly left the room, follow by the arch mage

"WHAT DO YOU MEAN WITH SEE YA SOON"(shouted Rebecca)

I am still not giving up on handing the throne to you ya know(prince)

And the prince happily left the university(after thanking the arch mage for his "help") since at least now he knew all his brothers and sisters were alive and his freedom was a sure thing.

His guards were happily eating and chatting when he arrive at the carriage

"guards, who among you can give the best description of all the missing persons in the explosion"(prince)

"Ok, you go to the adventures guild and offer a reward of 5000 gold for any of the involved in the incident alive, and 1000 dead, and include a description of each one in the request, making sure they are posted all around the country"(prince)

"And you go to the police and ask them to also look for them all around the country and give them a description of each one, including the priess and priestess"(prince)

"yes sir"(Guard a,b)

"The rest of you, let me get something to eat and then let's go back to the palace"(prince)

1 day after the explosion - The Palace

The prince exit the carriage and went inside the palace and to his room in hope of finally getting some alone time but he was stop by a servant

"Follow me please, someone important wants to see you"(servant)

I really should fire this guy(prince)

"fine, let's go"(prince)

The prince follow the servant to the courtyard, and he found there a blond girl around 15/16 with heavy armor and a sword on her back

"You are prince Julian right?the blue face gave it away"(armor girl)

S-th, I forgot to ask for a fix in the university(prince)

"yes, do you need something?"(prince)

The girl draw her sword and while pointing it at him

"prince, I demand a duel"(armor girl)
