Chapter 14 – Elfheim
A little time after Dasas arrived in the world of Anahita. There was a commotion in the great forest known as Elfheim. Located in the eastern side of the Zorya continent. This great forest is the home of the most enlightened race in the world. The elves. They are beautiful slender beings with long pointy ears and are said to live long youthful lives. Rarely do the elves venture outside of the forests. They are people that worship and care for the spirits.
In particular, it is the wood elves that use the power of the spirits. To maintain their lives and to protect the power of the forest. The forest gives birth to servants of the spirit kings. The pixies. They are spirits taken humanoid form with the size of 10cm up to 20cm. Looking like miniature elves with bug-like wings.
Pixies are categorized by color for the spirit elements they take after. Such as yellow pixies represent earth and green pixies represent wind. They usually live alongside elves as companions. A mutual dependence on the forest.
One of the wood elf villages in Elfheim. Where the spirit priestess resides is a high elf. One with royal blood of the wood elves, is having a fit. A spirit priestess is an elf with great affinity to the spirits. They said to be capable of communicating and feel the voices of the spirits.
The Priestess had received an oracle from the spirits. Therefore, in distraught calls for two of the village’s greatest warriors. The two elven warriors Byron and Calista make way to the home of the Priestess. After receiving the summons.
“Byron and Calista. It is great you two have made it here quickly. After I have given out my summons.” –Priestess
“No need for praise Priestess. Your will is the will of the spirits. I do as commanded without question.” –Byron

“I am the same as Byron. I serve the Priestess and for the good of the great forest.” –Calista
“Sadly, I have an urgent mission. I will need you two to accomplish. It involves the spirits and may even involve the entire world. The spirits are restless. I can feel their pull towards someone or something. It descended upon the world recently. Unknown if the thing that caused the disturbance is good or evil. I wish for you two to set out and capture or even destroy it. If necessary.” –Priestess
“As you will Priestess. I shall set out immediately.” –Byron
“I will prepare at once.” –Calista
“Also be sure to select the most elite warriors of the villages to accompany you. I leave the selection of them up to you two.” –Priestess
“Understood Priestess” –Byron
“I already have a few in my mind up to the task.” –Calista
“Go now. May the spirits bless your journey. I hope your mission is a success.” –Priestess
The two warriors bowed and left to prepare for their mission and journey. The Priestess goes back to her meditation to communicate with the spirits. That day was when a group of elves finally took the first initiative to leave the forest of their own will. They go out into the world and search for the entity. Having a huge influence on the spirits. Who knows what they will find…

I finally getting some information about the land and the nation of humans. Preparing for my first trip to a human town. Hopefully no massacre happens again. The information was extracted from the adventurer leader Dominic. It was not easy to get. So torture was required. Put in the hands of Rider to accomplish the feat. I heard Rider employed techniques the slave traders use. To make useful obedient slaves. We learn from the stories told by Lancer.

I lightly rub my buttocks. Imagining what tortures might entail in the hands of Rider. Giving me the shivers. I decide to make a replica of the metal slave collar. Putting it on Dominic so questions won’t be asked. When having him travel alongside as our tour guide.
Lancer reaches level ten after the forest battle. I start to craft a new set of weapons and armor for her. To have her prepped for the road trip. A bronze spear with an enchantment of high attack. A forehead guard with an enchantment increasing intelligence, because it never hurts to be a little smarter in a fight.
I also craft bronze gauntlets having an enchantment to increase strength. A pair of bronze greaves with the enchantment to increase agility. I also replace her copper chestplate with a bronze one. Having the same enchantment of increase defense.
With the new equipment. Lancer should have no problem fighting someone a few levels above her. Considering most guards won’t have armor with any type of enchantments. I checked all the gear of the killed guards and adventurers. Noticed they had no enchantments. Aside from the sledgehammer weapon the adventurer leader used. I doubt low level fighters will carry any enchanted gear. Lancer should be able to one-up them.
Tomorrow with my crew. I shall set out for the town of Ezra said to be about a two day ride on horseback from the abandoned frontier village. Going max speed otherwise it takes three days. Luckily, Rider found horses and a single wagon of supplies in the frontier village. While setting up the pikes with the heads of our enemies.
The horses and wagon must have belonged to the adventurers. Now it belongs to us. The spoils of war as they say. I can’t wait for tomorrow. I can finally have a real adventure in this new world.

Imagine being given a second chance at life. Not only that but with a life you chose (sort of). This is exactly the situation that our character is in. Now, in a new world, he refuses to be anything but the top of the food chain. IMPORTANT NOTE: This is a story I began writing a year and a half ago and decided to shelf, I'm coming back to it now because I miss writing; however, I have not carved out any time specifically for this and, as of now, it will be something I do on the side for fun. Currently I have 9 chapters plus a prologue written; I'm going to be going through and editting it to be in a present tense (from past), as well as changing some of the story and grammar. Let me know what you think, and thanks for reading.
