Chapter 2 – Take Responsibility?
Sitting on top of my golden throne and feeling somewhat apprehensive. I decide to gather all my NPCs and if they are sentient maybe I can talk with them and decide the next step. I call out to Saber and told her “Saber can you please inform the other Party members and have them gather in the throne room. I have an announcement to make.” Saber nodded and replied “As you command my master.”
Saber then proceed up the stairs to the third floor. I am guessing she understood my orders and is carrying it out. If so, then that means my NPCs are truly sentient unless it is the product of advance AI, so either way I need more information. It is best to not call them NPCs in front of them until I find out what is happening.
After Saber left. I am finally able to calm down as I slump my body onto my throne and let out a sigh. There is too much new information I need to process. I have been emotionally high strung for a while now. Either I was transported to another world with my party NPCs and they came to life or this is a new virtual reality experience of some kind. Once I talk to each of my NPCs I should know if they are real or just advanced artificial intelligence. See if they have individual personalities or programmed awareness.
With the brief talks I had with Saber it was hard to tell if it was an advance AI or that of a living being. Her response and questions were brief and to the point. She might be an introvert that only talks in a blunt manner when the occasion calls for it. I still can not rule out it is advance artificial intelligence from the brief interactions we had. I will find out soon when the others arrive.
After being able to settle down I need to first check my own condition in case anything is wrong. I look down and see that I am still wearing the armor of my game avatar. A light blue colored robe shirt and slacks with pretty designs etched on like a noble’s outfit. It is mythic class summoner specific job full body armor, which is made from the materials of mythological creatures.
Checking the rest of my body I notice it is the body of my game avatar. A very odd experience to be now living in a different body from my original one. In virtual reality there is no actual physical sensations, since it is mostly imagery.

My game avatar or I should say my current body is now that of a dragonoid one of the advance races of Arlenia, which is pretty much the higher evolved form of a Lizard demi-human. Instead of lizard traits like scales and claws on my body like a demi-human. I have a fully human looking appearance. Dragonoids have a human appearance but can transform into a wyvern the size of an elephant.
I will have to check out later if I can transform into a wyvern. Since it is my game avatar my appearance should be that of a human male with black hair and blue eyes with a tanned almost bronze colored skin. I have a lean muscular body with a height of 180cm. I am taller and physically more fit compared to my original body. A message window then pops up.
Administrator Dasas will you like an introductory tutorial to the managerial duties for the world of Anahita now?YesRemind me later
I decide to press [Yes] this time, since I am in urgent need of information for my predicament. It seems this world is called Anahita. I am definitely not on Arlenia anymore. So let’s see what this introductory tutorial can tell me and will it shed light on why and how I got here. A message window pops up and shows this:
-Introduction to Anahita-
The world of Anahita consists of three continents:
The largest continent is Zorya where most of the enlightened beings reside. To the west of Zorya is the continent of Bannik an unexplored land filled with vicious monsters and said to be ruled by ancient dragons of myth. Southeast of Zorya is the smallest continent of the world called Volos and is inhabited by the Demon race.
The enlightened races that inhabit the continent of Zorya are the humans, elves, dwarves, and the beastmen. The Humans have the largest population on Zorya with two kingdoms known as Korin and Fori. The elves mainly inhabit forests and they consist of three races which are the wood elves, the dark elves, and the least common but most mysterious moon elves.
The dwarves are metal workers and miners dealing mostly in blacksmithing for a living. Dwarves mostly live inside mountains or underground where most ores can be found. Dwarves are the most tolerated race on Zorya due to their great blacksmithing skill and can be found almost anywhere.
Then there are the beastmen, separated into four races known as the wolves, cats, foxes, and aquatic beings. Most beastmen reside in forests like elves aside from the aquatic races that tend to live near the sea or on small islands.

The continent of Volos where the demon race reside is said to contain thick chaotic mana which made the demons possess great magic power. Demons are considered evil beings and not much is known about Volos since anyone that traveled there never came back alive to tell the tale.
Another message window pops up and it looks like the actual tutorial is starting so I start focusing and hope I don’t miss any details.
Welcome to the tutorial for management duties for the world of Anahita. As an administrator for the world the duties consists of ensuring the balance of the world so it may not descend into chaos. Unless of course the administrator prefers having chaos in the world then please dismiss the previous sentence.
I can only stare blankly at what the message box was saying. It don’t matter if chaos did happen which in itself is scary but also a little exciting. A little chaos is always needed to get things rolling after all. Total peace is boring and stagnant which means no advancement.
I have seen what too much safety and peace does to people. It makes them idle and lazy. They fight over petty things that do not mean anything in the grand scheme of things. I scroll down on the tutorial’s message box to see what else it has to say.
One of the duties of an administrator is to rule over authorities of the world and by doing so ensure the world becomes and stay stable. Authorities are the power to rule over certain structures of the world. Examples such as the authority over death meaning to rule over all aspects of death in the world. Otherwise if not properly maintained then the world will be crawling with undead.
Whoa. Looking at the example really blew my mind, so what I have seen so far apparently an administrator is a god of sorts. So I became a god? It is both scary and exciting so I am unable to know what I should think about it. I kept proceeding with the tutorial to see what else I can learn.
Authorities can be obtained from the authority List at the end of the tutorial. The administrator can decide which to get. Once an administrator has obtained authorities it can in turn empower the administrator giving extra benefits and new powers.
The more authorities an administrator controls the stronger one gets with more access to certain powers and skill sets. Beware that controlling too many authorities can be stressful on the soul, which is why most living worlds tend to have more than one administrator to split the authorities to relieve the stress on the soul.
Well that just told me that gods aren’t all powerful as most people think. A little disappointing but probably for the best. Reminds me of the quote: “Power tends to corrupt, and absolute power corrupts absolutely. Great men are almost always bad men.”
Makes me wonder if there is such a thing as an evil god. What would define one to be evil? I really do hate philosophy. Anyway proceeding onward.
An administrator can strengthen their soul by having a large amount of faith energy absorbed, which in turn means the administrator can handle more authorities. Faith energy is given by intelligent beings that reside in the world. The more beings that call forth the name of the administrator. The more faith energy one will receive to strengthen the soul.
Well snap. This means needing worship and prayers from the sound of it. Being from a catholic family I am unsure how to feel about it. I always hated going to church on sundays and thought it was a waste of time.
Makes me wonder about administrators on earth, but it is probably best not to delve deeply into with all the religions. Religious topics always did irk me a lot and I tend to prefer avoiding it. Here I am stuck in the middle of it as I sure do have bad luck.
With this the tutorial is near its end. If the administrator needs more guidance then please refer to other administrators for information. Otherwise you will have to figure it out on your own. Good luck with the management duties and please take responsibility for the world.
The NPCs finally arrive in the throne room as the next message box appears.
Authority list for the world of Anahita: Access authority library?YesRemind me later
Again there is no [No] option listed which only makes me want to laugh. There is no getting out of the responsibility to manage the world it looks like, so I press the [Remind me later] option.
The five NPCs start to gather in front of the throne. I look up at the ceiling and think my life will never be the same. This is the start of the journey and adventure of the new administrator for the world of Anahita.

It's Hard to be a Hero in a Parallel World
A hero is transported from the real world into a parallel world similar to the video game he's been obsessed with for the past few weeks. The problem is, this game is way too difficult, especially for a nerdy gamer boy to survive. He decides to leave the hero-duty to someone who is actually competent while he looks for a way home. He hopes his knowledge of the game will help him stay out of trouble. Unfortunately, as one would imagine, the normal events of a game would change drastically when the main character is nowhere to be found. Read as the unlikely hero gets into trouble with his new companions, while trying to survive life in this parallel world. This is an original story that takes inspiration from and pokes fun at many novels, video games, anime, and the stereotypes and tropes that appear in those media.

The Paths of Magick
Credits: Story by Xcaliburnt. Cover Art by @Bervolart. Magick, the power to bend the laws of reality. All because of a mystical substance known as mana. Mages follow the Paths to achieve power, for there is no more addictive chase. Each Path winds and twists, forcing mages through the flames of adversity and challenge. Though the operative word is "path", the reality is far less straightforward. Instead of a road, Paths are like the branches of world trees, erupting into the heavens, intertwining, and ending in sharp snaps. Only the strongest reach the sky. There are several Paths, and many Ways to walk them—variations of the same Path, and like the stars, they are endless. Magick is the sacred flame that scours the fat, rendering the truest self. Superfluous flesh melting away to show the skeleton of one's being. A chance for ascension—apotheosis. Though not every mage works to godhood, if they survive long enough, It is inescapable. Witness the lives of those that tread the knife's edge of self-destruction. Each one intertwined in their search for answers, revenge, and, most of all: power. These individuals have all lost something precious—irreplaceable—and In search of filling the void left behind, they have taken up the mantle of a mage. Per aspera ad astra. Ad mortem vel divinitatis. (Through adversity to the stars. To death or divinity.) There is no consistent release schedule except my consistent inconsistency. Besides, there’s like a thousand pages worth of content, how can—you already read it? Goddamn. Oh, and there is a very long hiatus between volumes as I intend to edit and rewrite a lot. What to Expect: This story is progression fantasy, so expect a healthy dose of training. It's also heavy on slice of life, and it isn't entirely overarching-plot-driven. Expect characters to live their lives, and not always be on some quest to save the world. There's a lot of magic theory and discussion about it in the story. So, if you don't like impromptu lessons on sorcerous theory by traveling monster slayers, this might not be for you. But if you do like it, rejoice! For there is a lot of it. This is also heavy on prose, purple as a bruised eye. I use outdated, uneccesarily collegiate-level terms and play around with the writing style just for the heck of it. I find it fun to wax and wane poetic, and that might grate on you—I don’t plan to change this aspect of the Paths much if at all. Onto the viewer discretion is advised parts: This is grim-dark/ grim-heart. Take the tags seriously. There will be combat scenes that are brutal and horrifying. Fights to the death tend to be. This is a tale about medieval mercenaries (quite literal killers for hire), man-eating monsters, and eldritch gods beyond the material plane. Beside that, there will be traumatic events that are best left unread. I do not detail certain acts I find heinous enough, instead leaving some parts unwritten but still alludded to if not outright stated; there is simply no graphic narration thereof. This is not for the faint of heart.
