Rouna had a finger pointing at her and she clicked her tongue. Then she turned around and started to charge at the five dragons blocking the exit. The huge dragon behind them unleashed a massive cold breath that hit Rouna’s wings.

She had already started to fly, but now she was grounded and she ran through the exit. Rune followed right behind her as they moved through the tunnel.

As they moved, they could hear large footsteps hitting the ice and some stalactites shattered as they hit the ground. Rouna started to move slower and slower until she collapsed an she turned into her human form.

Rune quickly scooped her up in a paw and started to move, but realized it was an inconvenience. He decided to take a serious action and shoved her in his mouth. Her entire body fit inside and he was trying to not accidentally swallow her or gag her up.

He moved down the tunnels and tried to teleport. A light started to shimmer around him to start his teleportation, but it suddenly went out and he found himself still in the tunnels.

Of course I can’t teleport out of here now. I can’t even escape properly now because I got lost trying to escape, but they likely blocked off the entrance. I need to get Rouna some healing. She is shivering like crazy and it does not feel good in my mouth.

He moved down some corridors and he found himself face to face with three white dragons who turned the corner. They started to charge at him and he used [Gravity Control] to crush them into the ground. Then he stepped on their heads and shoved them in his storage.

He kept running until he reached a dead end. He looked left and right and started to punch the wall in front of him. He crushed a room sized hole in it and barfed up Rouna into it. Then he turned into a human and climbed in.

Quickly, he cast [Master Illusion] and made it look like there was no wall. He started to transmute the walls to surround them and now the two of them were stuck in the hole with the only way out being to break it.

He grabbed some wood from his storage and put it on the ground. Then he cast [Fireball] and set it on fire. Rouna’s temperature was becoming colder as time went on and he needed to heat her up.

She was shivering on the ground and was coughing and wheezing. Her breaths were shallow and her eyes were closed tightly as her face told him that she was in immense pain.

He set down a blanket and wrapped her up in it and placed her next to the fire. He sat down and started to grab out a shotgun. He started to start creating shotgun shells made of magic crystals and enchanted them to be explosive and to have the bloodshed effect on those wounded by the bullets.

After a moment, he heard thumping outside of the closed off room and heard something sniff around them. Using the illusion magic, Rune erased their tracks in the room and also made the room not smell.

The sniffing went on for a while before he heard the crunching of snow as it stomped off. Rune turned towards Rouna and saw that she still looked pale. He started to cast [Heal] on her as well as [Cure].

Her complexion came back and he found that she was breathing regularly again. The fire crackled as she breathed and Rune was leaning against the wall, shotgun in hand. Soon, Rouna’s eyes opened up quickly and she bolted upright.

She tried to at least, but she was still wrapped in several blankets that covered here feet to her neck. The blanket constricted her movements and she could barely move. She ended up trying to sit upright, but her back flumped back onto the ground.

“Um… What is this?”

“You got hit by a cold breath from a dragon. It’s a blanket.”

“Thanks. So where are we now?”

“In the caves. I suppose that we should use this time to think of a way to escape. I can’t teleport out nor use telepathy to get to the outside. You know what? I think that I can kill the dragons here first.”

“That large dragon… he was a Hierarch Dragon. The rest were wyrmling to ancient dragons. It would be hard for me to fight them in my state.”

“Ok. Then we’ll go in stealthily. I’ve played assassin games and I’ve hunted down things before. I should be able to do it.”

He decided to carry Rouna who thought that it would be a princess carry, but it ended up in a fireman’s carry over the shoulder. Thoroughly disappointed, they trudged through the ice and snow in front of them.

When they made their first turn, there was an adult dragon guarding the area. He looked like he was alone and the perfect candidate for Rune to test his stealth attacks on.

Rune quietly moved behind the dragon and quickly electrocuted it until it started to char. Then he absorbed it and all that was left were a few pieces of ash scattered on the ground.

He shifted Rouna on his shoulder and kept moving down the corridor thinking about how to kill the next one. Fortune was looking down upon him as he saw yet another dragon alone.

He quickly decapitated it and it’s head cleanly slid off of its neck. He then absorbed the body and the blood left in the snow.

He had ended up killing thirty seven dragons by the time they reached the main hall once again. He quickly hid behind a stalactite as he saw them. There were dragons littering the area and some turned towards him as they sniffed the air.

He quickly set Rouna down and pulled out his shotgun. He held it in his left hand as he held an extremely long chain in his right. The dragons started to charge at him and he quickly pumped the shotgun in one hand before firing.

The bullet spread for the bullet put in was rather wide, but it had he homing attribute and every chunk of magic crystal embedded themselves in the dragons’ heads. Twelve of them flopped over, dead, while the other two that were hit were fatally wounded.

He used the chain to hit the dragons that flew in the air that were within his range. They hit the ground and created large indents in the ice. With the chain, Rune wrapped it around a dragon and threw the dragon into the wall where it exploded.

Using his [Gravity Control], he let go of the chain and it started to flail around and hit Dragons. With his now free hand, Rune pumped his shotgun and fired consecutive shots at them. The bullets spread out all over the area and annihilated the enemies.

Their bodies lay in front of him, ridden with bullet holes and leaking blood. Some of them were sliced apart by the chain with it’s properties being sharp, bloodshedding, life draining, and weakness. Everytime the chain touched something, it diced it up and an immense amount of blood leaked from their wounds.

Soon enough, hundreds of dragons lay in the snow, blood rivers flowing from the stomachs and disemboweled bodies. There were five white dragons still alive, but too injured to move. Two of them were limping in front of three others.

One of the two dragons walked up in front of Rune as he picked up Rouna. They started to tell him about the different whereabouts of Tiamat’s Heads. In return, Rune didn’t kill them and they left the room.

Apparently, the White Irregular Dragon’s lair was in the Arctic Mountains. It was placed farther in the center of the continent where there were three mountain peaks. Each one was capped in snow and Rouna could not see them as they were covered with a mist that blocked magical perception.

This was the only place the dragon knew of and they told Rune about where the Hierarch was likely to be. There were three different tunnels in the beginning and one of them, on the side, went directly to the Hierarch’s lair. The other tunnel was just a pitfall.

The Hierarch’s Lair was placed directly in front of the treasury where thousands of riches were stored. There was also a library branching off from the lair.

Before they left, Rune stored the bodies in his storage. He looked around the room to see if there was anything else good to take, but he couldn’t see anything.

Rune and Rouna quickly traveled to the lair and went through the tunnels. The dragon had also said that the tunnels connected to everything underground. The only problem with going through the tunnels underground instead of going through the main tunnels was that they could get lost easily and Rouna could freeze to death.

They both found themselves in front of a large boulder of ice that was far larger than any of the ancient dragons. Rune quickly walked up to it and gestured for Rouna to come near him.

He stabbed the boulder with his gauntlets on his hands. The boulder started to crack and he stabbed it again. The boulder started to produce more cracks from the gouge in the ice boulder. It started to break off pieces and it was soon destroyed when it completely fell down around them.

Suddenly, a breath of freezing air came upon him and he threw his flare guard in front of him quickly. The shield expanded and fire burst out from in, shielding the duo from the ice. Soon enough, the shield stopped blazing the air around them and Rune looked at the source of the breath.

In front of him was a dragon whose size was much larger than two times the size of a gargantuan Ancient Dragon. It had eight horns instead of the regular two and they curved in every direction, but they were symmetrical on both sides.

Its eyes were glaring at him with the yellow eyes and the pupils were now in slits. Its open mouth contained hundreds of large teeth and it had spikes on its back moving from its head to the back of the tail.

The color of its skin was a slightly dirty white with a whiter and clearer underbelly. Its wings were opened up and there were multiple holes in them.

It looked down on the two and started to rush them. Rune grabbed Rouna and hauled her to the side where he set her down.

“Stay here. Have a gun.”

He placed a machine gun next to her, in the snow, and she picked it up with ease even though it was extremely heavy. Then he tossed two rounds her way and ran at the Hierarch dragon.

“Hey, fool! I’m over here!”

Then it opened up its mouth and started to fire off a cold breath at him. Rune reached into his storage and pulled out a satchel of fragmentation grenades. He pulled out one of their pines and chucked it into the dragon’s mouth.

He threw it from such a short distance that the creature couldn’t evade and it landed in its mouth. It exploded and smoke started to come out of its mouth and several fangs flew out. The dragon was repelled backwards and its head slammed into the wall.

It looked back down on Rune and started to cast magic. Suddenly, Rune was covered in ice and he was imprisoned within it. The dragon drew nearer and swallowed up Rune quickly.

He went down its gullet rather quickly and it turned its attention of Rouna who was holding the gun. She moved across the lair and fired at the dragon with the homing bullets.

Most of the bullets that glanced off of its hard scales, but some found their way in between the scales and entered its hard body. It started to bleed and the dragon roared.

The dragon moved up to Rouna and she thought that she was done for as it opened its mouth to fire off a cold breath. She tried to run, but her feet were stuck in ice. All she could do now was wait for a miracle.

And a miracle did happen. Rune made sure of it. Suddenly, the dragon started to cough out blood and it looked down at its stomach. When he did so, swords erupted from its entire body as if it were a pin cushion.

Blades popped out of its eyes, mouth, legs, back, and tail and they rooted themselves in the ground around the dragon. The dragon now couldn’t move and the life started to leave its eyes.

It soon died and something cut its stomach open with a chain cleaver. Its internal organs fell out as something escaped from its body. Rune hopped out of its body and was licking his lips.

He had blood covering his entire body and he seemed to have been drinking its blood. Then he turned and absorbed the Hierarch Dragon and the blades. Rouna was shaking from fear as she saw a creature far stronger than her die by blades coming out of its insides. It was a traumatic experience that made her think about what might have happened if she had swallowed Rune in the fight they had.

She shuddered at the thought and handed back the machine gun. Rune absorbed the blood on him and stored the machine gun in his storage.

“Come on. Let’s leave.”
