《Cursed Armor Reincarnation》Chapter 25: Frozen Tunnels

Rune has the Honor’s class and the others get off of the ship and people began to ask a lot of questions. It was actually quite annoying at how many people asked questions.
Some people were scared of Rouna at first, but Henry made a remark about how a loli dragon couldn’t hurt anyone. That made him the prime target of Rouna who prmoptly punched him in the stomach.
Henry had actually learned a lot of terms and things from the other summoned person, but he wasn’t told about the history of Earth. Apparently, that person came from the year 2017 and was a very big otaku from Japan.
They had actually met god on the way to Arborea who gave them cheats. He also gave the other person the ability to understand common while Henry already spoke English as he was British in origin.
The staff remained on board the ship while the rest of the crew traversed the town. Rena and Hika decided to go to the restaurant together and the other two Majin girls followed behind.
Erin was in a pub, drinking with the intent to become as drunk as he could with the delicious ale. Hyht and his girlfriend were also there to bring him back to the ship when he would inevitably become blackout drunk.
The village was a port village because they fished a lot of the time as the shores of the continent were actually quite peaceful as long as you stick close to it. They had multiple small row boats with nets and fishing rods in them.
There was a farm behind the village where they grew wheat, corn, and other crops. The people also hunted animals for clothes and food.
They used magic in almost everything that they did as there were no Sphinxes in the village that couldn’t use magic. They cooked with it, cleaned with it, and even used it to help grow their crops.
The houses were all made of sandstone and were connected with a sticky substance that hardened almost immediately as it touched the air. They usually made the substance on top of the sandstone bricks for convenience.
They hadn’t really changed their way of life since the adventurer, Henry, had helped them out. Riika was impressed with the architecture and the culture of them as they didn’t worship any gods, but they recognized them as a powerful existence in their world.
Rune was sitting at a table with Henry and Rouna to decide how they should tackle the problem of Tiamat’s Heads as it wasn’t something them could just charge at head on.
They decided that the best course of action would be to leave some people t this villfrom the ship at the village to protect it. He would give the staff, two of his Honor’s class, and Sophia enough weaponry to destroy the Human continent for defense purposes. Some people, mainly everyone on board the ship, thought that that was way too much weapons for a group of people to have.
Rune disagreed and started to talk.
“You see, everyone, my main priority is for everyone here to not die which is also tied for first with the plan to kill everything evil on this continent and take their corpses. I’d say that you guys who are staying here need to survive while the rest of us go out and kill some stuff. Sound good? Alright, meeting over.”
Some people tried to speak against him, but he already hopped off the ship and returned to Rouna and Henry. He had quickly teleported over to his shipmates who were playing games and talking to each other. There were no Sphinxes allowed on board for precaution.

He moved over there in the middle of their conversation and took about a minute before he teleported back to Rouna. He was already setting things into place.
“Um, I didn’t mean to do it now…”
“Well, it’s done now.”
“...sure.”
“Anyways, let’s have you and the people going with you tackle the Frozen Tunnels. It should be relatively easy for you as there are mainly just regular dragons.”
“Yeah. So how do we get there?”
“Just go that way and there should be an abyss somewhere some distance away.”
Rouna pointed in the direction opposite of the coast. Then she looked at Rune and started to speak in a serious tone.
“It really will be tough. We might not even be able to make it out of there alive. Even if they are regular dragons, there will likely be hundreds with a Hierarch dragon leading them. If we make even one small mistake, we fail. That’s it. No more life.”
“Well, I mean, I should still be able to live.”
“Huh?”
The two of them looked at him as if he was crazy.
“Well, I did “die” once and came back and killed the guy who did me in. Although, I only set up one thing really quickly this time, but it should be enough.”
They just stared at him as if he was crazy and insane. It would make sense to think that he was, especially if they didn’t know that he was originally Cursed Armor. However, even if they knew, they would still probably think that he was insane.
“Ah. I have something to tell you guys.”
He told them his story of how he got to the world and how he came to where he was now. He left out most of his lessons and things that he had done with Sophia. Henry seemed astonished at the entire story and Rouna was in awe at the parts he forgot to tell her before.
“Ahem. Let’s go to that cold cave or whatever.”
“Frozen Tunnels.”
“Yeah… That.”
The meeting was adjourned so that everyone could sleep first. They had reached the village after lunch and Sophia, Rune, Lacht, and Nacht had already eaten dinner when they were talking.
Currently, it was about nighttime when they had finished the meeting and Rune walked into the dark outdoors. There was a slight breeze as he walked through the empty streets and made his way to the ship.
His students and Elisa were already sleeping while Rouna and Sophia talked with each other. Their main discussion was what they were going to do once the trip was over. Rouna had wanted to have her assistant take over her job of protecting while she traversed the world. Sophia wanted to settle down with Rune and have a peaceful life.
If they went back to the Human continent, they would each do just that and try not to get into any other adventurers that would get them killed. So far, things were tough enough in the sea that they wanted to go back, but needed Rune to help them do so.
Rouna had to be there to navigate the area and Sophia was there to help analyze materials and to investigate areas. She was able to use [Quick Thought] to quickly figure out what happened during different events and what likely made something happen. She could also understand traps that used gas and liquids and how to disable them.
The two of them were on the deck of the ship when they noticed Rune climbing on board. He was too close to teleport to the ship or the people in his party as the cafe was just on the edge of the teleportation limit and he also wanted to see the scenery.

“Rune! Let’s go to sleep!!”
She jumped up and ran to Rune. She hugged him and started to rub her face into his chest. Round looked uncomfortable as she saw the scene play out and she started to leave for her room.
The next morning, Rune stood in front of seven students, Rouna, and Elisa. He was going to lead them into the enemy territory to kill the dragons and gather information. The top priority was to try and find out where the Irregular Dragons were and how to kill them.
Although he did want to take their corpses, like usual, he was going to wait until after the interrogations were done to do so. He didn’t want to kill their sources of info before they had a chance to be useful.
The plan was for them to travel further into the continent and look for a massive hole in the ground that would be the Frozen Tunnels that Rouna talked about. She could only figure out an estimated distance from the Sphinx village, Nerys, to the gaping hole in the sand.
She saw that there would be many obstacles in between where they were and their destination, but Rune was there to act as the bodyguard and leader. He would definitely murder some random monsters on the way.
Henry was staying behind to protect the village and to take a look at the guns they had on board the ship. He was fascinated by how far technology had come, but Rune tried to point out that the guns were made with magic which is something they didn’t have on Earth. He was a bit sad after that, but looked at all the other modern objects that used magic, like the air conditioner.
The ten people going on the trip could fit five in each carriage with the two carriages from the stables they bought. Rune had no use for horses and decided to hook one onto the other like a train and he made them both enchanted.
The carriages would move due to a stick and handle and whichever way it was pointing in. The carriages were made of a wood grown in the village, but it was unusually dense due to the environment it was in. They could survive on just the moisture in the air alone, but became more solid and denser the more water was given to it.
They became even sturdier when Rune enchanted them to do so. They also became able to heal those inside the vehicles and to move through the sand silently and without much vibrations and bumps.
If he sold it, he would make a fortune on the vehicle alone, but he wasn’t thinking too much about selling it as a product as much as he was thinking how many corpses they could hold. He estimated about twenty humanoid bodies of you crammed them together tightly, but he accidentally said part of this aloud.
“... I think 20 bodies…”
“Wut?!”
Nine people abruptly turned their heads to face him as he muttered his words. He looked around and realized that he said them it loud. He apologized and said why he was saying that which, incidentally, didn’t make the situation any better.
They moved through the large desert and encountered some large ten-legged lizards. Rune cut them down with zero hesitation as they started to run at the vehicles.
Behind one of them was a small group of what was thought to be its children, but he decapitated them as soon as they came in his range. Elisa retched at him doing so and some people held heir nose as she did it on the sand in front of them.
Rune absorbed the bodies and noticed that he was now level 24 as he had gained large amounts of experience points from the monsters that he had killed. His skills seemed to not level up past level 10.
He had gained one skill and some magic to use from his jobs:
C -Lv 1 [Nerve Strike]: When striking a nerve, paralyze them for a while.
A -Lv 1 [Dispel Magic]: Make a creature in sight unable to use magic for five minutes that is weaker than user.
F -Lv 1 [Eldritch Blast]: Send a beam of energy at an enemy.
F -Lv 1 [Quick Step]: Move quickly up to five times in a row for one minute each.
B -Lv 1 [Thunderstorm]: Generate a cloud of thunder above user and control lightning.
He seemed to be able to gain skills and magic from leveling up his jobs, but they gave little amounts of skills and magic to use. He had only gained magic and skills from his Warlock, Mage Killer, Lightning General, Rogue, and Dark Paladin jobs.
It had become midday when they reached a large hole that looked like it had no end. There were no living creatures near it and no birds flying overhead. The sides of the hole looked like they were rigid ice walls.
The hole was not a perfect hole, but it was extremely close to one and it was extremely wide and long. There were several large puddles nearby and hundreds of large icicles lining the abyss. It seemed that some of them were melting and some of the puddles were changing shape into large spikes and were freezing over.
The group looked down into the hole and Rouna seemed to get too close to the edge. Some of the sand shifted and she yelped as she fell into the hole. Some students were voicing their cries until they saw her flying back up.
“What? I am a dragon after all.”
Some people sighed in relief as she flew with her wings to the side of the hole. She folded up her wings and started to speak.
“So, I can’t see what is down there, but I know that the depth is too deep for someone to jump in and survive. Even for Rune, he has a chance of death.”
“Ok. I’ll go now then.”
People looked at him in surprise as he ran to the edge and jumped. Elisa was so taken aback that she fell over on her rear. Rune turned into an Ancient White Dragon in midair and started to slowly descend. Rouna jumped in and followed him.
The two of them went down and down further into the abyss and, soon enough, they could see lights coming from the ice walls surrounding them. It glowed a light blue and Rune and Rouna could see three different vertical tunnels. Rune decided to descend down the middle one and Rouna followed. The light in the walls lit up the way so that they could see the pathway.
Shortly after going down the tunnel, they found themselves in a nest. There were white dragons everywhere. There were holes in walls where they were slumbering and those that were on the floor who seemed to be talking with each other with telepathy. Rune could catch some words as they were still quite a bit of ways away.
Rune frowned as best he could in his dragon form as he heard the dragon talk about losing his life savings in a poker game. The other dragon put its paw on his shoulder and shook his head.
Some of the dragons who were near them turned their eyes to look at them lazily and some were starting to stand up.
They were glaring at Rouna, the Green Guardian Dragon, and were starting to approach her. Before they knew it, they were surrounded and five gargantuan sized dragons blocked off their exit. Rune turned his head from left to right and noticed that even those sleeping in the holes in the walls were looking down on them.
A large white dragon, larger than the rest, was looking down upon them as he jutted a finger at them in accusation. As it started to breath heavily, Rune could see that fog came from it’s mouth and nostrils as if it had liquid nitrogen running through its nose and mouth.
