《Beyond The Worlds[BTW]》Ch 19:Tournament: 2nd phase
Advertisement
After the first phase of the tournament was over, the king of the dragon race was a little agitated. He had received a report that some unknown people were causing a stir on the island, but he didn't think much of it at the time; However, when he saw Shin's group, he was in shock. Like the Elf Queen, the Dragon King also had thousands of years of experience, so he realized that Ryuu, Mari and Naomi were stronger than him. About Shin… he couldn't see anything about that guy.
"What's going on? Why are these people suddenly showing up?" The Dragon King was one of the strongest people in his world, but he had never seen Shin's group in the thousands of years he had lived.
'I have a bad feeling about this.'
"They convey my message to the dukes. Tell them to prepare an army." The Dragon King decided to take some countermeasures.
-
Participants who passed the first phase were gathered in the center of the island, waiting for the start of the second phase.
"Shin, can we leave the tower monsters with you?" Naomi wanted to let Shin fight the monsters, because he never killed any living beings in his life.
'He needs to have this experience as soon as possible.' She thought Shin should kill not just monsters, but humans as well. It can be cruel, but some situations will require him to kill people. And as the leader of the group, he needs to guide the other members.
"All right." Shin thought his "clear mind" ability was of great help. Even though he was a little nervous, his mind was still calm.
-
The "Eye of Saturn" emitted another burst of mana and created several Towers tens of meters high. With that, the second phase of the tournament began. Participants entered the Towers with mixed feelings, some were excited, others fearful.
"Let 's go in."
Shin, Naomi, Ryuu and Mari entered the tower. When they saw the interior of the tower, they were surprised. The interior of the tower was a vast flat area with green vegetation.
"Is this the first floor?"
The tower had a total of 15 floors. They wondered if the next floors would be different. When they were thinking about it, a group of ugly green monsters appeared in front of them.

"Goblins?" Naomi had seen many of these monsters before. "The first level looks pretty easy." The Goblins were mostly pretty weak monsters.
"Well, let me get started." Shin didn't wait any longer and released bursts of light using his fingers. Even though the beam was small, it was enough to pierce the goblins dozens of times. The goblins died without resistance. When Shin thought it was over, more goblins appeared. This time, their number doubled.
"Well, it couldn't be that simple." He started to exterminate the goblins, until they stopped appearing. After the goblins, dozens of giant ogres over 10 feet tall ran toward the group.
"Looks like this is the second floor challenge." They weren't in the same setting as the first floor, the second floor was a big forest with trees much bigger than normal.
"I'm going to test various spells in this tower. After all, there's no one but us here."
Shin decided to try various forms of magic. First, he created several blades of water, he held two of these blades in his hands and ran towards the ogres. The ogres tried to attack Shin, but their hands were cut off. Shin threw the water blades at the ogres at such high speed, the ogres couldn't even react when they were cut to pieces.
Naomi, Mari and Ryuu watched Shin slaughter the ogres.
"His punches are too clumsy. He just swings the blades too fast, but the speed he learns is just bizarre." Mari commented. She was amazed at how quickly Shin learned to do things. She estimated that by the time they completed the mission, Shin would have gained a few years of battle experience.
"You know he's never fought in his life, so his moves are very simple and predictable. However, his mana is very strange." Naomi thought Shin's mana was very different from the others, because his mana was golden in color.
'Mana is one of the fundamental energies for all universes, so it cannot be fundamentally altered.'
This phrase was said by "Origin". There are beings with untold powers in the universe and beyond, but none of them have managed to alter the origin of mana and its "meaning"; However, Shin's mana was unlike anything seen.
"If he were a normal person, it would be impossible to keep you two under control." Ryuu replied. He was grateful that their leader was someone extraordinary, otherwise it would be very difficult to keep current and future members under control.

"What the hell do you mean by that? I can take care of myself." Mari replied with an annoyed expression.
"Humph." Naomi just snorted.
-
The leaders looked at the Towers with serious expressions, after all, only 5 teams would be approved. They couldn't see the participants, but they could see the floors they were on.
"Your Majesty, do you think they will be alright?" An Elf asked Tiana.
"They'll be fine. Trust them." Tiana replied. She was a little worried about her daughter, but the chances of making it to the last stage were good.
-
"Aka-Sama is so awesome!" The dragons looked at Aka with wonder in their eyes. Even though he was almost the same age as them, Aka was much stronger. Aka wiped out the Ogres with just normal punches.
"Don't just watch." Aka spoke with a grim expression.
"Yes!" The others started to move.
Aka looked at her group and thought of Shin's group. Unlike other groups that were formed with just the feeling of cooperation, Shin's group had a totally different feeling.
'Maybe it's their friendship.' Aka thought.
-
Airin looked at his brother who was killing the ogres easily. She thought about helping him, but…
"Stay here and just watch." Alvin told Airin. He didn't want his sister to get in the way of the fight. Even though Airin was an elf, her power was only slightly better than ordinary participants. Airin clenched her fists but still obeyed her brother.
-
*BOMM! BOMM! BOMM!!*
Several huge explosions flooded the tower. Shin was using the fire element right now. He went through several floors, each floor he switched elements.
'I don't really understand this element yet.' Shin thought of his Aether element. He didn't know what that element was, and he couldn't control it yet either.
*Sigh*
"Monsters are very weak." Even though he gained a fair amount of experience in battle, he was still far from Mari, Naomi and Ryuu. Shin climbed several floors, battling trolls, ogres, skeletons, etc.
"I think I can earn more when the enemy attacks." Shin thought he could gain more experience when facing the "final boss".
'On the day of the last phase of the tournament.'
-
After climbing to the 15th floor, Shin saw several monsters with wings flying towards him. The monsters looked like dragons, but there were some differences.
"Wyvern?" Shin was a little surprised to see wyverns in the tower. He used his air magic to fly and headed towards the monsters.
*Roar*
"It's no use screaming." Shin spoke to the wyvern. He released blasts of air and cut through the wyvern easily.
'How many?' He saw that the number of wyverns was quite large. He would have no problem killing them, but the other participants probably won't make it past that floor. Shin decided to quickly end the fight by sending a gigantic tornado through the wyverns.
*BOMM!!*
The tornado engulfed everything in its path, until the landscape was completely destroyed.
-
*BOMM!!*
"Aka-Sama, their number is too big! We need to retreat!" One of the men in Aka's group shouted. Aka was covered in blood, she released waves of flame to kill the wyverns, but the numbers didn't seem to diminish. She was a little frustrated with the situation.
"Back off." She knew she had failed on this floor.
'I wonder what floor they landed on.' Aka thought of Shin's group. Even though she didn't have such a competitive spirit, she didn't want to lose.
-
"Brother! We need to retreat!" Airin was startled when she saw such a large number of wyverns.
"Shit! Damn geckos." Alvin had come this far but still lost on the top floor.
"Back off!" Alvin yelled.
-
"Looks like it's over." Tiana looked at the 2nd round result. The groups that passed were Shin's group; Alvin, Aka and two other human groups. Passing groups were greeted with congratulations by their respective leaders.
-
A man looked at the island with a smile.
"Haha." He gave a weak laugh, but then began to laugh madly.
"Hahahahaha. It's done! It's done! We're starting a show tomorrow. A carnage show."

Time And Thoughts
This a book is where I freely express and convey emotions and my thoughts about topics. It's a place where I spend my TIME putting my THOUGHTS into words in hopes of helping someone. I've written these poems in such a way, so that my viewers can derive their own meaning from them. For me as a person I tend to feel more comforted, when down, by listen to music or reading poems, in which the poem or song is hopeless and gives off the feeling of the protagonist being bluntly hurt. In my poems I write without words of encouragement, but instead comfort the reader through understanding and allowing them to feel.If you ever feel the need to talk to someone or want to know the meaning of one of my poems or just wanna say something feel free to comment or private message me.Please enjoy and be comforted by my book.Highest ranking:#1 poems#1 poembook#2 poemcollection#2 poem#3 poetry#3 poetrycollection#5 sadpoems#5 thoughts#8 emotions#13 freeverse#17 hopeless#20 feelings#24 sadness#36 depressing #44 updating#56 life#70 sad#87 poet
