Perseus looked at Jack who was standing obediently in front of him.
"Okay Jack watch my movements"
"yes sir!"
Perseus grabbed a regular iron dagger and stood in position. His master had just granted him some basic dagger skills and he was now going to teach Jack. He had bought the daggers in the city. And had returned outside to train and power level Jack. He had a level 3 dagger skill, but it was better than nothing, right?
Jack was a quick learner, and before Perseus knew it he had already gotten the skill. Perseus sent Jack on a mission to kill 20 rabbits in the forest to buy time and watched as Jack strode in a rouge-like fashion toward the forest. Perseus now had to think about what else he could do to train Jack. If he wanted Jack to become stronger he needed skills. More preferably rouge skills things like stealth and cloaking. The problem was how he was going to get Jack to learn those skills.
He was lucky that Jack could get the dagger skill but it was only because of his talent, the other skills would be much harder to learn. Now, who was skilled enough to train Jack? Perseus hadn't been in the city for long so he would have to start from scratch.
Wait, why did he just send a kid into the forest to kill monsters in cold blood?
Perseus sighed
This was going to be a real pain in the butt.
****************************************************************************************************************************************
Jack ran through the forest path his eyes darting from place to place seeking out any type of movement. The words his master had said to him before were still in his head.
"remember Jack, a rouge is a master in quickly taking out the enemy in silence they sneak around and are always looking for weak spots to exploit." His master Perseus was reading from a book when he said that. Jack didn't really know what he was talking about but he was able to catch the title of the book which was "Reincarnation of the Rouge who Roamed the World"
Jack's heart was touched, his master even though he knew so much about the world was studying even harder to train him. He swore again in his heart for the umpteenth time that he would follow him to the end of days even when heaven and hell went aginst them he and the man who had sent him here would always be in his graces.

*rustle*
Jack stopped his run. His legs turned the moment the rustle was heard and his entire body stopped on a dime. His head was turned to the bushes the moment his legs pivoted to the bushes. He quickly unsheathed his dagger and approached. He had learned how to do this when he lived on the streets, and with the miraculous instruction of his master, he had learned the ways of the dagger, and now he would let the rabbits face his wrath. Jack sneaked around the bush, his dagger poised and ready.
A horned rabbit was laying their sunbathing. The horned rabbit must have accidentally kicked the bushes and alerted Jack. Jack sneaked up on the rabbit, approaching it silently, slowly.
*snap*
Jack grimaced at the fleeing rabbit and the broken twig underneath his foot. He had much to learn. He returned to the main path and walked down, this time being careful with his movements and his eyes were glued to the ground to look out for anymore twigs.
Another rustle in the bushes caught his attention. He snuck up all careful like, this time making sure not to step on any twigs. He rounded the bush again and he saw a large shaggy bear lumbering down the forest. Jack had never gotten out of the slums much less the city, but living in the slums gave him an inherent sense of danger and the skill to run away as fast as possible.
Jack saw the bear, almost crapped himself, turned around, and walked away.
He had been in the forest for almost an hour by now and he still hadn't hunted down a single rabbit. Jack ran off in the opposite direction of the bear. Wherever that thing went, he would always go the exact opposite way.
Jack continued down the path, his steps were quiet and were now also filled with caution. Another rustle in the bushes. Jack didn't jump forward like before. Each step he took was one of the most silent and quiet that he could manage. He peeked out with one of his eyes.
And there it was, a rabbit not a horned one but a regular rabbit. A cute white rabbit with a pink nose and large floppy ears. Oh no, it was too cute.

It was munching on some grass just enjoying life. Jack was witnessing everything, he took a deep (quiet) breathe and approached it. His dagger was already out and he stretched out his other hand.
The rabbit was still enjoying its lunch when a hand slammed down on its middle, pinning it to the ground. It struggled by kicking its legs but they only kicked up dirt and created a cloud. It tried to move its forelimbs, nothing happened. It turned to look at his captor.
Jack started right back at the rabbit. The rabbit's beady eyes were looking at Jack with a sad expression and Jack could tell it was begging for its life. Jack raised his dagger and was about to slam it down when the rabbit started to whimper.
Jack was raised in the slums he had seen people act like best friends for a few minutes and then try and stab each other in the back the moment after. He should have learned to be cruel and merciless, and at this time he needed to kill the rabbit. But it was difficult to transition from a petty thief to a merciless murderer.
And that rabbit, that damn rabbit took advantage of Jack's hesitation and kicked up dirt. A clump of dirt entered Jacks's mouth and when Jack reflexively coughed he loosened his grip on the rabbit. The rabbit struggled like never before, breaking free from Jack s grip. The rabbit for some reason didn't escape immediately, but jumped up and used its powerful legs to give Jack a hard kick on the face.
It was like getting a hard slap. But before Jack could get revenge the dust cleared and the rabbit was nowhere to be seen.
So Jack was back on the trail. This time he was quiet, watching out for twigs, cautious and now he was dead set on killing any cute thing that he came across.
Jack was out in the forest alone and yet somehow with the help of nature he was able to learn a few valuable lessons.
Finally, another rustle was heard deep in the forest. Jack's head snapped to the place like a homing beacon. He sneaked up with the practiced movements he gained from the last few failed attempts. Peeked over a bush, and there lay a horned rabbit. It wasn't cute like the last one and it wasn't a freaking bear, so Jack thought to himself
"yeah, I'm going to beat that rabbits ***"
So he drew his dagger and prepared the spare one that his master had gotten for him (he swore to serve Perseus again later) and started getting closer to the rabbit. He dodged through trees crawled through bushes. He finally got close enough about 4 meters away was the horned rabbit. It was also eating grass like the earlier one.
Jason gripped his dagger hilt and jumped with both of the daggers aimed toward the rabbit. The rabbit never saw it two daggers hit it on the head and torso, killing it instantly.
Jack was surprised at how easy killing it was, compared to all the difficulty he had just faced earlier.
Jack thought back to the "fight" and remembered how easily the steps to kill the rabbit appeared in his mind. From the way, he should move up closer to his target to how he should get behind the target to utilize the element of surprise. Everything came to him like it was the obvious thing to do. He thought proudly to himself.
"Master was right, I am suited for killing in one shot and being a rouge"
He picked himself up, grabbed the fallen rabbit's loot, and walked off, his hunt had only begun.
In a faraway cave, well not too far actually It was in the same forest, a sword was lying on the ground. It gave off a faint blue light that pulsed like a heartbeat. The light started to get even whiter, but then large roars and growls coming from the deep end of the cave made the sword dim the light. The sword just laid there on the ground. Like a piece of garbage, but the glow from it told otherwise.

8 80The Undying Magician
How would a true immortal with average talent in magic fare within a world where magic is everything? In the world of Aria, only a small fraction of the population are classified as magicians. These magicians are able to use magic through the manipulation of the mana they are born with and are the core of the military strength within every nation. However, one nation in particular uses magicians to an even higher extreme than the others. This nation is known as The Republic of Arcania. The largest power in Aria. Our story follows Nathan Fox as he graduates from high school and is sent to the Arcane Academy for his required military training as a magician before he eventually serves his ten year term in the military.Nathan has been a true immortal ever since he got a semi-magical disease that makes any damage done to his body instantly reverse itself, bringing him back to his top form on the day that he became an immortal. Ever since then, it has been impossible for Nathan to die.But there are worse things in the world than death. And if the power-hungry magicians of the world were to learn of Nathan's true immortality? Then he might just experience those things himself. What will happen to Nathan as he traverses life in the academy? Will his secret be found out?Or will he be able to safely make it through the four years of academy life with his secret intact? That has yet to be foretold. The beginning of the story starts out slow for what many Royal Road readers are used to and then speeds up after around chapter 20 or so. It is a school arc, so it is supposed to be slow. Most of the combat and action isn't seen until after these chapters, which you can view as an introduction to the world, the characters, and magic itself. Many of the reviews are outdated due to edits I've been making along the way through the story. Specifically some of the edits going over the world itself, including pointing out in the story some of the things a few of the reviewers missed when they wrote their reviews, along with fixing other things that were pointed out in the story from the reviews and comments. This book is also being edited as it's being written, so some small parts might change as I get suggestions from readers. I do not write harem or sexual content in my stories. Ever.
