《Subordination system》Hard Carry Hey

The game was pretty one-sided, in the first few minutes the Tall Cats had already lost 2 of their teammates. While the Kings barely lost any health.
The audience had already lost some interest.
The tall cats were slowly getting pushed back to a corner. Until a player by the username, Squidboy jumped in. At first he just approached the enemy team like he was asking for a death sentence. Gunfire was already erupting towards him. Somehow he was able to dodge instantly and strafed fast enough that he wasn't hit once. If somebody were to look at the person controlling the squid boy character he would see insanely fast button pressing along with precis fast flicks of the mouse.
Everyone thought it was a bug, he was dodging every bullet that was sent towards him and even returning some fire while doing it.
Squidboy slid on the ground shooting 4 shots, each one head shotting a player.
[player Captain Hungry has died]
[player Iamhungry has died]
[player mindoffood has died]
[player deathfromthestomach has died]
Absolute silence reigned in the arena as they review of the notifications and what they had just seen in their minds. Their jaws dropping, eyes bulging out.
The last 2 players in the Kings scrambled and one threw a grenade towards him, while they retreated. Squidboy just let them run and watched the grenade fall towards him. It was starting to arc and fall to him when he raised his pistol and shot.
BOOM the grenade exploded into pieces, in front of him and when the dust finally cleared. He was gone. Where did he go you may ask, well he went straight towards the survivors while everyone was distracted by the dust cloud.
Suddenly the roles reversed, it was now the 2 last King players cornered against a single player.

Squid boy just ran circles around them doing nothing. But to the audience and players. It looked like a predator circling its prey.
In a final desperate charge, they both jumped out and fired at where ever there was a sign of movement. They did successfully hit him a few times. But they forgot something important.
The rest of the Tall Cats guild were watching everything and when the two had jumped out. They instantly jumped out and the two King players died without knowing what was behind them.
The game was over and the Tall Cats went back to the room under the deafening cheerers of the audience who had finally recovered.
This was a crazy achievement they all believed. Squidboy had just demonstrated skill comparable to the top player in the world.
One of the audience members thought to himself.
'Squidboy, Squidboy, I know that name, but where?'
Only later would he remember that it was the name of the one who had just recently broken the world record for reaching the diamond league.
Meanwhile, Jason was getting a intense stare from everyone on his way back, his teammates, the audience the other teams, everyone, but he kinda liked it. With a small grin he looked at the increasing point value on his system.
[+50 points (admiration)]
[total points 1567]
When they got back to the team room Luna addressed the huge elephant in the room, she sat down on a chair, looked at him and said with a commanding tone
"Jason you have 10 seconds, explain how you got so good and how you improved in that short amount of time."
Masuda added
"are you smurfing or something?"
Jason paused to sigh and looked out into the window it looked like he was contemplating something difficult. But in reality he was shouting in his head

'OI BOOPS GET ME OUTA HERE, HELP!'
Jason was arguing and panicking in his head desperately asking Boops for help. Boops was also panicing with Jason and yelled out
'UM IDK, UM AH! PLAY DUMB'
Boops was no help, but Jason went with it. He put on his most innocent face and said in the most innocent tone he could muster
"um, I'm not sure, I just practiced really hard Maybe I was just born with talent?"
Everyone gave him a look, and the tense atmosphere almost made Jason want to retreat back to his room and live there for all of eternity.
Luna was the first to say anything
"*sigh* fine we'll believe you, for now, Jason, just play like that for the rest of the tournament alright?"
Jason replied instantly thankful that he could get out of the predicament from before.
"yes, ill do my best"
While he thought to himself while grinning
'hehe time to farm some points'

Tower of Somnus
When humanity first encountered alien life, we were judged and found wanting. The Galactic Consensus interviewed our leaders and subjected us to a battery of psychological tests to determine our progress as a society. They found us to be selfish, wasteful, impulsive, and boorish neighbors. Earth was blockaded and our collective encounter with our extrasolar neighbors rapidly faded from memory. All they left behind was a hypercomm relay and a handful of subscriptions to a massively multiplayer game that participants played in their sleep. The Consensus said that it would let us interact with our neighbors in a controlled setting. That it would teach us to be better members of the galactic community. The megacorporations that controlled Earth ignored the game until they learned that the powers earned from clearing dungeons were just as real when day broke. Magic, supernatural abilities and rumors exploded from nothing and a subscription to The Tower of Somnus became a status symbol. Katherine ‘Kat’ Debs doesn’t have much, but it could be worse. Born in an arcology, she was assigned a job in the megacorporation that raised her almost as soon as she could work. Despite the stability of her corporate life, she wanted something more. A chance to claw her way up the rigid social and financial ladder to make something of herself. A chance that wouldn’t come naturally to someone as familiar with dark alleyways and the glint of steel as she was with office work and corporate niceties.Book One is up on Kindle Unlimited as of 7/6/22 - https://www.royalroad.com/amazon/B0B2X3L8H5

He slowly backs up until his back is against the wall like my own, "You're..my neighbor?" He points to my door and I nod my head quickly. He hums softly, "You been here a while?" He asks and I nod my head once again. He chuckles, "Ya head hurt?" I nod again but stop as he laughs softly, "I-I mean.. no.. it doesn't." My cheeks burn red as I look at my shoes, "I-It doesn't hurt.." I repeat like a dummy and listen to him clear his throat, "So do you actually live there or was it bull?" He nods to my door and I play with my fingers, "Yeah.. I do.." I feel his eyes watch me and I quickly stop. "You live with your boyfriend or do you like sweatshirts that reach your knees?" He teased, making a giggle slip past my lips. I look away to the floor again, "I-I like big shirts... a lot." I mumble softly and he nods his head, "Hol' up." He puts his box down before walking over to one of the grey bins. I nosily watch as he pulls out a big grey sweatshirt, "Here." He holds it out for me to take and I stare at him with wide eyes, "F-For me?" I hesitantly grab the soft fabric as he chuckles, "Nah for ya mom." I puff my cheeks a little and give him a small glare, "Hush." He leans back against the wall and shakes his head, "It's cold out.
