《Otherworldly Adventures》Chapter 1 - First Mission

Being showered by a strong light, Lowell started to lose track of time. In space, no one knew how long - a second or even years - one will spend here.
“Ooh~ looks like he has arrived~!”
Déjà vu? That’s the first thing Lowell thought. When she died, the first thing she always heard was that line. She opened her eyes and looked around. Now, instead of an angel, what she saw was a very large number of stars surrounding me. Each of them has a different color. The blue one started to speak. It looks like it’s not the one who said that first line.
“Che-! She may look a little pretty for a Lower Plane World inhabitant, but look at her stupid face. Hey brat, tell us your name!”
The blue star talks arrogantly. It made Lowell pissed, but that anger was overshadowed by fear - that if she speak wrongly, she would be executed on the spot.
“Ah?! I-I’m sorry! I-I’m Lowell Zvalle! I’m-!”
Before she could finish my sentence, she was interrupted by another star. It was yellow in color.
“Guys~! Do ‘it’.”
She became frightened, thinking she would be executed, but before she could react, the stars that are previously surrounding her starts to vanish. All of them except the Yellow Star reappeared around the Blue Star.
The Blue Star panicked and starts to speak angrily.
“Wha-?! What are you doing?! S-Stop-!! Aaaaaaah!!”
The Blue Star disappeared with the other stars. They are like bodyguards of a celebrity who ‘takes care’ of those who mock their employer. Lowell became pale because of fear as she hear the Blue Star's voice full of agony.
The Yellow Star acted as if clearing his throat, trying to get Lowell's attention.
“*Cough* Let’s start again. Welcome to our domain, the Middle Magical Plane. ‘Middle’ because our domain holds Magical Worlds with medium knowledge about Magic. You are from the Lower Technological Plane, since your technology right now is just in the verge of breaking into the ranks of Middle Technology Plane. Without any further ado, we ask for you - the Miracle Maker’s - help.”

“Miracle Maker? How did I received that title?”
“Well, for three valid reasons..”
“Three? “
“One, you became the first true conqueror among Lower Plane Worlds. The nearest contender is from your world, Ivan Zvalle, your direct descendant. Because after your rule, things start to broke apart. Human’s greed for your throne became rampant and they started quarreling with each other. Most of Humanity became a follower of your systematized rule, ‘where people who weren’t given the chance to become successful has given a chance, and the people who persevere becomes a people with high standing in the society, and your legacy still continued, but some greedy humans start to create their own factions. Well, they’re still destroyed at the end.
By the way, your government hold 50% of the shares for all companies in the world, and it was used to hasten the progress of your race. That continues until the day you die, and your race had reach the Middle Technology Plane standards. That’s the start of intergalactic travel. But after another millennium, your life’s effect to humans start to fade and you’ll just become a textbook person, stating that you are the First ‘True’ World Conqueror and the Forerunner of the New Era… something like that.
Two, you are that world’s first catalyst to breakthrough. As I explained earlier, you helped your race to improve everything, especially Technology.
Three, A person with a historical background like yours is unlikely to become a World Conqueror. Most of us were astonished when you accomplish it with your guts, intelligence, and dedication.”
“If I’m a catalyst, why did you removed me from my own World?”
“Because your world is still young. Your existence maybe good, but one world shall follow the laws of nature and universe. These knowledge are still above you kind's logic, so it would be better not to explain it right now.”
Lowell was still confused, but arguing with them won't be beneficial, she thought.
“Is that so.. Well, I’m that great?”
She started to have a high esteem on herself.
“Well, for Low Plane World, it was incredible.. but here, in the Middle Plane, it was a little lacking. A millennium is just a little time. Our world’s civilizations here existed for hundreds of millions of years. Your world’s civilization just started it’s advancement after what you called ‘Industrial Revolution’. A millennium is just a speck of sand in that vast time frame. But we didn’t summon you just to brag those things.”

The Yellow Star started to speak as if her achievements are just something normal for them. Lowell tried to change the topic.
“I’m starting to wonder what are planes, how are they ranked, and what are the different planes.”
The Yellow Star's voice was calm as she answered her question.
“Planes places where a civilization is born. They are grouped on how developed they are in their category. There are three types of Planes, a Technological, Magical, and Mysterious Planes. Both Technological and Magical Planes are like what you think. Mysterious Planes, are Planes that can’t be categorized within the other two. A world with both Magical advancement and Technological advancement is categorized on Mysterious Planes.”
“Then why, a person from the Lower Technological Plane, was summoned into the Middle Magical Plane?”
The Yellow Star's voice became serious.
“I’m going to the point. We’ll give you tasks to complete as we, the Gods of the Middle World, don’t have the ability to meddle with our World’s affairs. We can only use this kind of method when we’re pretty desperate. Don’t worry, we’ll provide you some help, but it is in an indirect way.”
After that, six lights flew around the Yellow Star. It contained various skills which are most non-existent in Lowell's previous world.
“You can choose two of the skills in this selection. Before picking anything, I’ll give you some details about the world you’ll gonna be sent off to.”
Several words flew above the Yellow Star. They are written in a language Lowell know.
World Name: 『Twilight World』
Group: 『Middle Magical Plane World』
Description:
A world of swords and magic. Magic in this world is almost inseparable with daily life, making it a necessity. Presently, it is an abandoned world, which doesn’t have any ‘God’ supervising it. It’s main event is the battle between the Hero and the Demon King, which happens every time they reincarnate.
Lowell noticed something in the description panel.
“What is an abandoned world?”
“Abandoned worlds are worlds that aren’t supervised by any ‘God’. Most of the time, it’s because their previous supervisors became ‘Dark Gods’ or Gods tainted with dark intentions. You’ll know it later why Twilight World became an abandoned world. So, your present task is…”
Another message emerged above him.
『Live in Twilight World until you receive your next mission.』
“That’s it?”
For all the effort they done, the Gods only asked her to live in that world.
“Yes. So now, what are the knowledge you’re gonna choose?”
After thinking for a while, Lowell made her final decision.
“I select Spell Forger and Eye of Investigation.”
She thought that with her basic knowledge from earth and a skill that could peer through world's secrets could greatly help in her new life in Twilight World.
“Okay, I’ll start to transfer these skills in your body. I’ll make the skills naturally flow into you."
The Yellow Star continued.
"Now, as the rule of reincarnation says, I’ll need to remove your previous memories. If we don’t, you’ll suffer an identity crisis and you’ll be another cheat person. No God wants to give people smooth sailing lives, you know. You’ll realize the worth of a thing if you work for it. Well, you yourself should know it."
It's okay, I guess.
Lowell thought because even without her previous knowledge, the skills would still be helpful.
“Well then, Good luck~! Have fun in your new world~!”
White light starts to encircle her. The previous stars who vanished starts to appear one by one. Each of them starts to change colors, from red to green, from yellow to blue, and so on and so forth. Because of the bright light, Lowell closed my eyes, and she started to fall asleep.

Luck Lockyer
Luck Lockyer was the type of man to smirk in the dark, the expression not for anyone but himself. One of perpetual amusement. The bright side of things were hard to find in the shade yet his amber eyes were always searching. The smirk was his default, he knew it, his friends knew it, his family knew it. It was his most natural state. But the death of everyone close to you can affect a downwards curve on the mouths of even the most stoic people. Without purpose, without anyone to do the job for, Luck Lockyer found himself inside an empty forgotten church. The perpetual smirk on his face had slipped to a thin line, his scar more noticeable now than ever before. His amber eyes, the windows to his soul, dull and lifeless. To anyone who knew him, it was the clothing that gave away his mental state, denim pants and a plain black t-shirt. If that wasn't enough, the tears running down his face certainly would, the echoing sobs of a broken man rang across the rundown church. It was on a whim, but Luck Lockyer prayed, he prayed for many things, for death, revenge, friends, but the one prayer dominating his thoughts, a second chance for his family. That was all he wanted. Simple. It was then, on the outskirts of a polluted city, in an abondoned lot, in a forgotten church that Luck Lockyer, the Devil of the Cards, the Bloodless Hand, the Amber Demon, the Broken, was answered by a being from another world and one from his. *found the picture online

Conquest Of Mortem
*NOTE* This novel is a war of attrition. To say anything less is a disservice to its demand. While comparable to other such works as Ulysses or Moby Dick, each sentence in Conquest is an enemy to be tackled. Not in the ways of difficulty but in absurd density that wishes nothing more than to destroy what patience you may have. Do not tackle chapters as you would ordinary chapters in an ordinary book. Tackle each chapter as a book unto itself. A foe to be vanquished, a period of life to leave behind. Seek to be master of this work. Seek to overcome. For in its design is the willpower, and the perseverance, and the strength of someone who sought meaning in struggle. As I discovered these in times of ultimate desperation, so I hope for you to discover these things. This novel is a love letter to your trials. May you overcome them. May you master them. May you become conquerer.- SeedSagaA literary epic for logophiles, philosophers, and poets alike. A journey into zeitgeist, the impact of media on culture, and the endurance of morality against an onslaught of hatred. These vague descriptions do little to compact Conquest's density into a bite-size summary. They do however relate the basest themes found within. A plot, if such can be surmised, is strung thinly across multiple perspectives, weaving together these concepts into a seemingly distorted tapestry of indecipherable events. Inspired by early 20th century modernism, Conquest will challenge the reader, and provide critique on the medium upon which all great stories are derived. Further interpretation is up to you now; an explorer among a sea of words. Venture on and discover what lies ahead, in...CONQUEST OF MORTEM
