"This is my new family now" Aily thought to herself. The moment Aily decided to call her Feena and Reece her mom and dad. She made a decision to forget about her other family. She didn't want to remember the trauma of being abandoned. And so she accepted her new family with a smile and pushed her old family to the furthest corner of her mind.

Today's dinner at the Anistons's house was louder than it has ever been before. During the whole entire time the family was eating. Feena who already saw Aily as a daughter was spoiling her so much already, even more so than compared to Reed who was her actual son. But no one said anything since they all know Feena wanted a daughter.

Now that she does no one wanted to come in between her and Aily bonding together. It could also be seen that Aily was getting closer to Feena and Reece as well. The first time she called Reece and Feena, mom and dad. She was still hesitant and stuttered every time she said it. But as she kept on calling them mom and dad more and more. She was able to call them as that without any hesitation. It could be seen that Aily was really trying to forget her other family and to accept her new one.

After dinner Feena immediately took Aily to god knows somewhere and Reed went to his dads office where he was looking over the report the bodyguards who were with Reed when he was exploring the city.

While he was reading the report, he heard a knock coming from his door.

"Come in," Reece said. The door then opened and a silhouette of a child came in the room. The person was Reed. He came to talk to his father about what happened today, but seeing the stack of papers he figured his dad already knew what happened.

Reece then came up to Reed and patted him his right shoulder and said "It's good that your ok. If I knew something like this would've happened, I wouldn't have agreed to have you explore the city with a small group of bodyguards.

Reed look at Reece's eyes and saw warmth in it but he could see in hidden parts of his eye was a flame of anger.

"It's already happened and I'm fine aren't I. Plus if you didn't allow me to go out, I wouldn't have brought back Aily then would I." Reed replied back.

Hearing Reed response, Reece couldn't help but think that his was really odd compared to the other child he had seen. Kids around Reeds age would be looking for things he could enjoy in life and not care about otherworldly affairs and wouldn't be as smart as adults. But his son Reed acted nothing like a kid but a refined adult.

"Just how unfathomable is my kid, and how much do I really know about him?" Reece couldn't help but thought.

"That is true, if you didn't go out today, you wouldn't have met Aily and gave mom someone to actually take care of. She couldn't be much of a mom since you rarely had any problems and have been getting anxious if she's been doing a good job as a mother at all. But now since Aily is here with such a terrible experience, your mom can now smother her with all her motherly love that she's been holding up," Reece laughed as he replied.

What Reece said was true, Reed mentally is already the age of an adult. He didn't have a mind of a child, so he knew how things worked in the world and never asked for much as a normal child would. His parents tried to spoil him by asking if he wanted anything but Reed couldn't of anything he wanted except for new clothing.

So Reed's mom was feeling like she wasn't doing much for her child but now due to Aily's appearance she now had someone she could actually spoil and be a normal mom with. Reed then cut to the chase and asked Reece

"Dad about the assassins that attacked me this afternoon, do have any info about them? From my guess the only people that would want me dead would be the other three great families."

Reece couldn't help but open his eyes in shock. His son was spot on with his guess. In the report, the interrogator was able to confirm that the assassins were from the other three great families and that they were indeed targeting Reed. In the report, it said that the reason they wanted to kill Reed was because of his monstrous potential.

Reece nodded and said in reply "Yes, it was indeed the other three great families. But I can't do anything. If I were to start a war against the other three great families and we're to win it. We would have huge casualties. And even if I were to attack one of them, the other two families would immediately join the fight and help the other family."

"Since they know that if one of them is eliminated, it'll be easier for us to eliminate the rest of them and conquer Nova City. So if you're hoping for us to retaliate now, it'll be impossible."

Of course Reed knew this. He knew everything of what Reece said. If he didn't then the only thing that would define Reed is the word stupid.

"I'm not asking for such a thing dad. I just wanna know what we'll be doing in the future? The other three great families already see me as a threat. I'm pretty sure that they know that we know that it was them. They'll expect me in the future to attack back once I grow up in revenge. And that is true, I will destroy them in the future because of their attempt on killing me."

"Yeah I'm pretty sure anyone would look for revenge if someone wanted to kill them. Even I wouldn't be an exception. But I'm pretty sure that since the three great family failed in the assassination attempt, they won't be pulling off any plots and stay low for awhile. So I'm pretty sure you'll be fine for a while for now."

"Yes, with that given time I'll become even stronger. So strong that they won't be able to even touch me."

"I can't wait to see that day come Reed."

"I can't wait for that day as well." Reed and Reece then started talking about the family affairs and as they were talking, a sound of knocking was heard coming from the door.

"Come in" Reece said

"Vance then came in.

"I'm sorry for the interruption but I have something to give you master," Vance said as he then gave a letter to Reece. Reece took the letter from Vance and opened up the letter. He started reading the letter. It was an letter of invitation to a banquet being hosted by the Vice Family.

"It seems that the Vice family is hosting a banquet tomorrow night and is inviting us to it. They want to elude themselves by being friendly hoping that we don't suspect them. If I didn't get the information of the cooperation of the three houses working to assassinate me son it would've worked but since I do have the information, this attempt to elude themselves is futile. " Reece said with a smirk and disdain.

"So are we going to to the banquet? Reed asked Reece.

"Of course we are, if we don't go then the Vice Family will know that we already suspect them. So we should go to keep that from happening." Reece then kept talking as he placed the letter on his desk and said to Reece

"It's getting late so you should go to sleep and prepare yourself for tomorrow nights banquet."

"Yes dad, good night," Reed replied back.

"Good night Reed," Reece said back with a smile.

Leaving his dads office he then went towards his room and opened the door to enter it. Reeds room wasn't as luxurious as a normal rich kids room. It was a big room but the only thing in it were furniture a normal room would have. Reed changed into his sleep clothe and turned off the light to the room then went to his bed to sleep.

It usually didn't go to sleep but just as he was about to go to sleep he heard his room door opened up. Reed lifted his head up from his pillow and looked towards his room. The person he saw was Aily wearing pajamas.

"What's the matter Aily? Reed asked Aily. He was confused on why she came into the room at this time.

"I couldn't sleep alone and I didn't want to ask mom, so I went to your room to see if I could sleep with you." Aily replied back in a shy voice.

Hearing what she asked, Reed couldn't help but jump in shock. Even though Reed was a child physically he was older mentally and so thinking of sleeping with a six year old girl really scared him. He tried to think of every way to prevent her from sleeping him but the only thing he said was

"But I'm guy and you a girl. Girls like you shouldn't sleep with other guys."" It was a terrible excuse but it was the only thing he could think of.

"But you said that we were family, and that you would always be by my side. You pinky promised too. Don't tell me you're going to break our pinky promise." Alice said as she started to cry

"Oh shit she pulled out that card" Reed thought.

Fine fine, you can sleep with me, so please stop crying" Reed begged Aily

Aily stopped crying and then walked to get on Reed's bed and placed her head on a pillow to the right of him. Seeing Aily putting her head on the pillow facing the other direction Reed started to calm down and placed his head down back on his pillow.

"Hey Reed." Aily called out.

"Yes Aily?" Reed asked.

"Thank you for everything"
