《A Series Of School For Good And Evil One Shots》One Hundred And Twenty Seconds

It took one hundred and twenty seconds for Lady Lesso to leave Clarissa Dovey alone in this chaotic world forever.
Clarissa held her in her arms and felt the woman’s soft skin get colder, felt the life run out of her small figure with every second that passed.
Clarissa felt Lady Lesso’s body shaking in her arms and felt her heavy, irregular breaths on her face when she leaned down towards the smaller woman’s delicate face.
Lady Lesso coughed and a small rivulet of blood appeared in the corner of her mouth....
"Lady Lesso, listen to me," she managed to get out between her sobs, "Don't you dare leave me alone here,!"
Clarissa pressed Lady Lesso’s body closer to her chest, "You're going to be fine, you're going to be fine." But she wasn’t. They both knew that. Clarissa could tell from the moment she had looked at the knife wound in Lady Lesso’s stomach, that she wouldn’t survive this.
"You can't die, not now, not like this," Clarissa begged her as she held her tighter in her arms, scared that if she loosened her arms around her even the tiniest bit, she would lose her...
She could feel the people standing around them, but she didn’t care. She could feel Sophie staring at them, but she never approached them. Good. It was her fault that this had happened.
"Please just stay with me, Lady Lesso, you have to stay with me, I know you can do it."
Another spasm shook Lady Lesso’s body and her eyes became glassy, unfocused. Nonetheless she kept her gaze on Clarissa and forced her lips into a small shaky smile.
Clarissa let out a small sob as Lady Lesso took a deep breath that rasped rather alarmingly in her throat.

"Clarissa," she got out, her voice just barely above a whisper.
Clarissa was barely aware of the chaos that surrounded them. She was completely focused on Lady Lesso. Her eyes burnt with hot tears and her shoulders were shaking with quiet sobs.
"C-Clarissa," She whispered weakly again, a crystal tear running down her pale face, "I..." She coughed, and then took in a deep shaky breath, "I-I love you, C-Clarissa... s-so much... d-don’t you e-ever forget that."
Without being able to help herself, Clarissa leaned down and kissed Lady Lesso on the lips. She tasted blood and fear on Lady Lesso’s tongue...
Death, she thought as she pulled away.
She had tasted death...
On the lips of the one she loved the most in the whole universe...
She stroked a few strands of long black hair away from Lady Lesso’s forehead with shaking hands and watched her eyes close slightly, watched her take a few shaky breaths.
"I love you too, Lady Lesso," Clarissa said, sobbing.
Lady Lesso smiled slightly. “M-My name is L-Leonora,” she said softly, looking up at Clarissa with soft, grief filled, eyes. Clarissa’s own eyes widened and more tears spilled out of them. “C-Call me L-Leonora.” Then her eyes slid shut, and never opened again.
"I love you Leonora, I love you, I love you so so much, Leonora, I love you more than the world... I love you... I love you... I love you..."
And then she let herself cry out loud... she cried, and cried, and cried... and cried.
Two minutes was all it took for Clarissa’s whole world to come crashing down around her...
Only two minutes for death take Leonora’s soul away from her, forever...
