《Netherwyrm Stargod》Chapter 01

In a mountain range forest, far from any civilization, there was a place that no beast dared to trespass.
It’s not that they did not dare, it’s just that even if they wanted to go there, it would be close to impossible.
Not only was there an immense pressure that fell onto anyone who dared to come close, rendering them powerless and helpless but there was also a dome-like barrier that protected that place.
That dome encompassed an entire mountain by itself.
Inside was a paradise, with otherworldly trees with fruits that released an immense power and flora that seemed out of this world.
As the sun showed itself on the horizon, in a hidden part inside the dome, strange fluctuations could be felt.
There, an egg the size of a human was showing signs of cracking.
Cracks crisscrossed on its surface and their numbers increased as time passed.
It seemed something inside was trying to come out.
Finally, the gigantic egg cracked and the first thing that came out was a purple little dragon head.
As the little purple dragon fought to come out, more of its purple scaled body could be seen.
It was at least two meters long if one counted its long tail. Four powerful legs helped it to awkwardly stay standing and two little wings on its back moved from time to time.
As the dragon was starting to eat the eggshell as if its life depended on it, it suddenly stopped midway and looked at the left side of the egg that had yet to crack.
Using all the strength it could muster, it went on the left side and started punching and headbutting the egg.
Gradually, the left side cracked and the same goo that had come out of the right side spattered on the ground as a tiny figure came out along with it.
Surprisingly, it was what looked like a human baby with two cute little antlers as horns on the forehead.
The purple dragon gently nudged the strange little being with its head, curiosity and worry showing in its eyes.
The little baby suddenly opened its eyes frowning. Its eyes were so deep and scary unlike any newborn.
The baby seemed to be curious about its surroundings and was only slightly shocked after seeing the dragon that seemed to be gigantic from its perspective.
“So this is my new life…” The baby thought with a deep adult voice.
“What a mess…I am not even human…I can feel it…this is unlike my first rebirth…the first time I was reborn into a knight family and while my body back then was strong for a newborn, it wasn’t as exaggerated as this…I came out of an egg for god’s sake and I am the younger twin of a dragon…”
“What am I really?”
Suddenly, memories appeared in his head.
It didn’t seem like memories though…it seemed more like an inheritance.
It only lasted for a few seconds, but in that short lapse of time, an inheritance spanning tens of millennia had been imprinted in the baby’s mind.
“A Dragonoid, huh…never heard of such a thing…” The baby had a self-deprecating smile.
“According to these memories, at least one of our parents is some kind of humanoid…probably human…and…normally there should have been only one Dragonoid that was going to be born. There are never twins…This happened because of something our parents did to the egg…From these memories I just got, the only thing our dragon parent could have done was the Forbidden Ritual of Bloodline Regression…Essentially, what should have been my Dragon part was taken away from me to create this purple dragon I was born with…I still have some dragon bloodline left in me, but…sigh…”

“My birthright was stolen from me before I was even born, but I can’t bring myself to hate you…you’re innocent.” The baby said as it petted the dragon head that seemed to be enjoying it.
“Well, I also just reincarnated into this body, stealing it…I guess we’re even now…”
“Let’s see…System are you still there…”
[Yes, Dion. I’m still here…but not for long.]
“You’re going to leave, huh…You told me it was the price I had to pay to reincarnate…but still, thank you for saving me from true death,” Dion said.
[A new system will be issued to you soon…and it will be time for me to leave you and go look for a new host.]
“Can I still contact my alternate selves? I am still in the same Multiverse Am I not?”
[Yes, it is the same Multiverse, in fact, I made you reincarnate in the same universe you died in…But there’s something you should know…]
“What is it?” Dion asked expecting bad news.
[First and foremost, it has been a thousand years since you died in this universe. Secondly, your Multiverse Merchant System previously only had the rights to open 6 channels to six different universes and the prerequisite for a channel to open is that there’s an alternate self with a system in that universe so you can use him as your business partner to enter the market of that universe. Lastly, only two channels are still open now after a thousand years. ]
“So they died of old age or got killed. That’s to be expected. I guess that those who survived are from the tier 3 Universes.”
[Correct. Tier 3 universes have beings that could be considered Gods by mortals. It’s normal that they diligently cultivated their respective power systems and are still alive until now.]
“I’d like to talk to them before you leave me.”
[Ok, but make it quick, you don’t have much time.]
{Establishing connection…}
{First Channel: Renegade Heaven universe…Open.}
{Second Channel: Sorcerer’s Oasis Universe…Open.}
Dion’s baby self was sitting cross-legged and eyes closed, much to the chagrin of the purple dragon who suddenly lost his playmate.
The dragon then went to gorge himself on the delicious eggshells.
In Dion’s mind, a new place had appeared. It looked like some kind of lounge.
He retained the body of an infant as he looked at the two excited old men in front of him.
One of the old men wore a white robe with golden runes on it and a golden belt encrusted with colorful gems.
The other had a simple black robe and a funny conical black hat.
All three in the room were named Dion Frazier and instead of the baby Dion who now looked slightly purple, the two old men had a dark olive complexion.
“You’ve finally reincarnated, just as you said in your last message.” the white-robed man said.
“Why is it the three of us this time? Where are the others?” The black-robed man asked
“Dead.” the baby Dion answered.
“That’s a pity.” The black-robed Dion said.
“You don’t seem to be completely human in this new life of yours.” The white-robed Dion said matter-of-factly.
“Dragonoid…My twin brother is a dragon, can you believe it”?” Baby Dion said.
The white-robed Dion then said, “Heh, I can believe it. We never know what to expect from you. Do you remember the time you accidentally turned yourself into a feral werewolf thinking that you would become stronger and had to fight its desire for murder for a whole year until you got enough System Points to buy the cure?”

Baby Dion said, “Stop, I am embarrassed just thinking about it.”
The black-robed Dion then said, “Ah, I also remember that time. Back then, all the six of us had to save System Points for a whole year to pitch in so you could buy the werewolf cure from your system. ”
Baby Dion sighed again and then said, “I only wanted to see you for the last time. This is goodbye because a new System is going to be issued to me and I will no longer possess the power to contact you again.”
The two old men looked at each other and then laughed together.
The white-robed Dion then said, “I don’t think so.”
“Yes. We’ve lived for so long, there’s no way we can ignore how to cheat the System for our own advantage.”
Baby Dion felt a little lost after that statement, “What do you mean by ‘cheat the system’ ”
The black-robed Dion then said, “If you had lived as long as we did, you would’ve found out that you could use your System Points to buy Sub Systems of your liking. You’d need a huge amount of System Points though. At least in the hundreds of millions…which is why that function only appears when you have the means to use it. Before that, we used our System points to unlock the spells and techniques that came with our system and level them up. We were jealous of you because you had a system that allowed you to buy anything from the very beginning. But for us to be like you, we have to accumulate System Points for hundreds of years to be able to buy a Small-scale shop system for ourselves…and that Small-scale Shop system has nothing that we can use given our current strength. It would’ve been useful earlier on when we were starting our journey and leveling it up as we grew up so it could keep up with our rate of advancement.”
The white-robed Dion then said, “In short, you can buy yourself a system and it will be yours forever…at least that’s what our respective systems told us.”
Baby Dion thought about it for a moment and then said, “System, is what they are saying true?”
[Yes, mostly.]
“Why mostly? What’s missing?”
[I am a tier 5 system. One of the highest-ranked Systems, which is why you never had to level me up. I come with an already high level at the start. For you to buy me, it would cost you at least 15,000,000,000 System Points…and you would only buy the right to trade with 6 channels only…you’d lose your Check-in Function that allows you to periodically gain System Points. You’d also lose your weekly Lottery, your rewards System including Level up packages, and all the other Functions like Exchanging with the System to earn System points or being issued missions…etc….]
“I still have access to the shop though?”
[Yes.]
“So, while I lose those functions, won’t I get new ones with my new System?”
[Yes]
“Can’t you make it a bit cheaper? I am sure these two idiots will fork out the money to buy you, but I would feel so bad if I paid so much…ahem…if I made them pay so much.”
[No. The price is fair.]
“No, you’re cheating me. You give me six channels when I only have two available. I’m not stupid you know.”
[You can refresh each channel for a new one starting with 1,000,000,000 system points each and the price would go up depending on the tier of the universe.]
“Don’t take me for a moron. How many of my alternate selves would still be alive after a thousand years? Huh? I am already lucky that there are two of them and by the looks of it they are at the end of their lifespan.”
[There are infinite Universes, infinite possibilities. You can’t rule out the fact that there’s no one else.]
Baby Dion felt his head throbbing. Clearly, this system of his was as stubborn as him.
“Sigh, six channels it is then…”
The two old men were silent and knew that their baby counterpart in front of them was having a very important conversation with his system.
Baby Dion then looked at them, “15 billion. Do you have it?”
The two old men nearly had a heart attack at the same time and their soul bodies showed signs of instability.
“Fuck, what tier is your system?” The black-robed Dion then lost all his composure.
“Tier 5.”
The white-robed Dion then said, “No wonder…”
“Don’t get too excited, I am only getting access to the shop and the right to trade with you.” Baby Dion stated.
Yet another heart attack…
Baby Dion only hoped that his new system would be a higher-tiered one to offset his loss.
Well, he wasn’t the one paying this time.
“For old time’s sake then.” The white-robed Dion said.
“Yeah, we wouldn’t be where we are at if you hadn’t been there back then. This time helping you is also helping ourselves.” The black-robed Dion then said.
They each forked out 7,5 billion System points.
As much as it hurt them to take out such wealth, they still had at least twice that amount remaining in their System bank.
Baby Dion took the points and made the transaction with his system.
Once everything was done, Baby Dion nodded to the two old men who each heaved a sigh of relief.
Baby Dion then said, “Next time we see each other, there will be another guest… I hope.”
“I figured as much…with infinite universes…there’s no way there wouldn’t be other ones like us.” the white-robed Dion said.
[It’s finally time.]
[I exploited a loophole to give you the System points you would’ve had in the thousand years you were dead. Technically, I was still functioning all that time trying to find a suitable host…so I did not really cheat …This is my last gift to you.]
“Of course, it is the last gift if it is the only one.” Baby Dion rolled his eyes.
[My first gift is choosing the body you have and recommending the System you will get. With my authority as a Tier 5 system I can recommend which System you will get. So I chose the most suitable…and even though it’s only just Tier 3, it is one of the few that does not lose out to Tier 4 and Tier 5 ones. Both your body and your System are a match.]
Baby Dion made an immediate assumption, “So it’s a System that has something to do with Dragons…how lame…to think that I was a human in my last two lives, why are you dead set on turning me into a beast?”
