CHAPTER - 3
Adulthood!
I am now 6 years old. This search engine hologram still hasn't leveled up. I used the skill in all the books in the library. What to do now? I haven’t fully explored this mansion yet. Wait a second. Why didn’t I think of using the skill in the mansion? I could use my skill on every item! Ugh! I’m so stupid! Before that though, I should explore this mansion in case I get lost.
“Everyone get to the dining room now!” Handley shouted
What? What the heck happened?! I said to myself
I rushed to the dining room and I saw everyone panting except my father. He is sitting on a coach.
“W-w-what happened?” said Padriac
“Did something happen?” said Ritchie
My father inhaled slowly. “I want everyone to do chores.” He said with a demanding voice. Everyone was shocked to hear this. Chores? Aren’t we a noble family? Can’t we let the maids do it?
“W-what? What the heck are you talking about?! I am the next head of the Von Échestel family!” Padraic said with shock. “Me!?! Doing chores?!? You have to be a joking father.”
My father sighs, “Do what you want.”
“I’ll do it,” My brother Boone said.
Boone, you're too kind.
“I’ll help, said Hanomtano.
“I’ll help,” I said.
Everyone looked at me with shock and confusion. Huh? What's wrong? Is it wrong to help?
“V-very well. I shall give you the list of the chores you need to do.” Handley replied. He was confused, he didn’t think any of his sons would do it.
…
Padriac looked at us with disgust. I know he is a spoiled brat but not this spoiled. Those who only do the chores are me, Boone, Hanomtano, Sandro, and Sedric. Right now, Boone and I are walking together in the hallway. The next head of the Von Échestel family huh? I’ll ask Boone about it. I trust him because he is not one of those people in my past life.

“Hey, brother,” I said
“Yes, Abel?” Boone replied
“Who will inherit the next head of the Von Échestel family?” I asked.
“That will be the first son, second son, or the third son.” He replied.
“I see,” I muttered
The Von Échestel family is doomed. I don’t like those brothers at all. Sandro is kind, but he just doesn't know the world much. He has a hero complex. If one of those brothers became the next head of the family. Does that mean?
“Brother,” I called again
“What is it, Abel?” He replied
“What will happen to the younger brothers if one of the older brothers becomes the next head of the family?” I asked
“Well, their choice,” He said with a smile.
“I see,” I replied with a smile. It's hard to talk with a noble language! I guess I’ll have to worry about the money in the future.
“Hey, brother,” I called again.
“What is it again Abel?” Boone replied
“Why do I have the worst food? And much less fancy clothes too?” I asked.
“Oh! That's because the older you are, the better treatment you will get!” He replied
“Eh?” I stopped. My brother gave me a confused look.
Y-you are serious right? This gotta be a joke! If not, then what is wrong with this system! I exclaimed.
Boone then realized.
“I understand you brother. We live in a cruel world. We must endure it.” He spoke to me.
“I-I see! I’ll try my best to endure!” I said with a determined look. My brother chuckles.
“You are an intelligent brother. Especially at your age.”
I replied with a laugh while scratching the back of my head.
“Let’s go now before our father sees us,” Boone said

“G-got it!” I replied
…
7 years have passed now. I became 13 years old today. 13 is considered an adult here in this era. And there is a problem... I didn’t plan anything at all. Why didn’t I make a plan?! Agh! I’m so stupid!
“Surprise!”
Boone suddenly came in with a birthday cake.
“Ahhh!” I jumped
“Don’t scare me like that brother!” I made a smug face.
He chuckled, “I’m sorry! I couldn’t help it!”
“Anyways! Congratulations! You are now an adult Abel!”
He said with a cheerful voice. I couldn’t help but smile. He helped me a lot. Sandro helped out too but he didn’t come for reasons.
“Yay! I am now an adult!”
Is this how a 13-year old speaks? I feel like this should be how a 5-year-old speaks.
“So, what are you gonna do now? Now that you're an adult.” Boone asked
“Hmmm.”
Abel made a thinking pose while in bed.
“Don’t worry about it. For now, eat your cake and rela-!”
“Since I am not getting anything in the inheritance, I’m going to get a job and save up,” I said to him.
“Good.” Boone smiled.
‘Huh?’
Abel looks confused. He WAS born from a noble family! Why did he think it was a good idea!?!
“W-wait. Why do you agree with me working? I'm working! A noble son is gonna work for the nobles!”
Boone smiled and put his hand on Abel's shoulder.
“Look, brother. I am happy because I won’t have to worry about you. Our elder brothers are selfish. They will only give a few low gold coins and forget about you. I was planning to buy land and a farm to bring you with me.”
Oh right.
How could I forget? Boone is a kind person.
“Big brother Boone…”
Abel started to laugh.
“What are you saying that you don’t have to worry about me?! I will become a king! W-wait no! The greatest king! I will become a king, the greatest one at that.”
Boone chuckles, “Sure you will.”
“I will! Just you wait!” I exclaimed with pride.
“At least you have a goal. Save for it! Now eat your cake and relax.” Boone said to me.
“Yes, big brother!” I replied.
…
Abel opened his eyes in bed. He got up and scratched his left eye.
“Good morning.” Abel yawned.
“Good morning Young Master.” One of the servants in the Von Échestel house greeted him.
Hmmm. A job. I need a job.
Abel started to think about what job he would choose. A week has passed but never thought of a job he needs to make money. The Von Échestel family is related to fishing and they gain money from it. Then Abel got an idea.
“I will go fishing!”

Cary Simms: The Fairy Mushroom Forest
From a young age, Cary Simms knew that she wasn't like the other boys her age. She didn't know why or how that was, but it seemed apparent to the bullies of her school. They would often call her names, chase after her after school, and beat her up when they could catch her. Her only protection, besides escape, was in the words of the Good Book. But that was before she stumbled into the supposedly haunted house at the end of her street. When a mysterious ring and a drawing on the back wall of the post office opened up a whole new world for her, things quickly went from weird to scary. At a new school, in a new world, surrounded by people who had access to magic, all Cary could think of was how to escape the witches that had her trapped there. It was only having her best friend by her side that gave her any comfort at all. ***This is my first attempt at a middle grade book, and would appreciate feedback. Those Zombies Again
One day Sam wakes up in a world full of zombies and tries to survive.PSFirst of all i would not recommend this novel if you haven't read like hundred of novels already. Its pretty weird and depressing novel. This story is told almost completely from MC point of view. Third person.MC is a pretty ugly random guy with different psychological problems. He is antisocial and limited person.Lore - Since MC is limited and barely interested in people or just surroundings, you will get pretty limited descriptions on stuff, it was meant to be like that.Characters - Obviously for the same reason, you will not see much characters, usually you wont get their description or even names.Fights - I personally hate those fights in novels which take like few chapters to describe some shitty encounters. For example MC is making his "move" and then you get half chapter of description of his thoughts and the ways his face is looking, and the way like his opponent surprised and the way crowd is reacting and so on. I really hate all that shit so fights in this novel will be described not that often, only if an equal or a new opponent, and only in a strict and straightforward way, no bullshit. Now this novel is not exactly fantasy, its more like grim realistic-fantasy.But i will have to explain what i mean. Lets take rape in most novels as an example. Usually MC will be justified to rape a girl one way or another. Common example is aphrodisiac. Or the girl were trying to kill him so he had to "punish" her. Or she just happened to jump on his thing and then after rape she become his girlfriend etc, Those are examples of "fan service" in novel. So MC would be justified and readers woun't feel too uncomfortable to read something like that.So there is no "fan service" in this novel, like at all. You will have to read some stuff that will make you feel uncomfortable and you woun't like it.Common sense also means that there is barely gonna be any "random" events which MC is gonna be part of. No treasures and superpowers he founds because he is "special". He will not meet antagonists on his way. This novels world will not spin around MC in any way. He will usually sit in his deep cave and no one around will give a damn about him or even know of his existence. So this novel is not for you to have fun and enjoy reading. Not to make you feel comfortable, satisfied or happy. Its probably the opposite. There are some standards which novel usually sticks to in order to become popular. Obviously i did not meet those standards at all.
