Hello, guys , it’s been a while ...I had some free time and now I’m back .

This chapter is one which was requested by many of you and so here it is .

Well , without further ado , please enjoy !

Intermission 3: One Year Trial

[FEI FEI PoV]

It’s been only a few days since , out of nowhere , we’ve been transported to a different world . We are only normal students , barely in high school , and still, we’ve been summoned to this unknown place as heroes .

It seems to be the plot of a light novel right ? Well , it would actually be if we’ve got any powers at all .

For an unknown reason , the summoning partially failed as we’ve received no blessing . We are as normal as in our previous life . Or at least we are . There is one more person that came to this place with us . He didn’t receive any divine blessing either but he couldn’t be less normal .

His name is Andel . He looks just like an airhead guy with no worry in the world but , after what we’ve witnessed yesterday , we realised just what kind of monster he truly is .

A red light that covered the horizon , flames towering the heavens and a deafening blast that made our ears bleed . At the beginning, we thought it was the end of the world , but we survived . And the next day we found out who was responsible .

Now , that monster , as a human he definitely isn’t , is standing here ,before us , with a slight smile on his face .

In the morning he came back flying ... Yes ! Flying ! And just casually gave to the King – sama a mountain of gold . Then he told all of us that the Maou problem has been taken care of and we don’t have to retreat anymore .

When Kind – sama asked him what he did , he just answered that he incinerated a small piggy together with some random bugs ... From the looks of it, the piggy should be the Maou while the bugs were the unstoppable army .

At that point, we realised just what kind of monster he truly was . Still ... Considering his power , he could easily kill all of us . The fact that we are still alive shows that he has no malicious thought against us ... Or maybe he needs us alive ? Slaves ?

‘Shiver’

This thought made my bones freeze in place ... Coming to a different world just to become a slave for the rest of my life ... This would be too cruel of a fate .

In the same time ... I can’t shake this feeling that he really has no ill intent towards us ... Since the first time I saw him he always looked like a good person ... A little lonely but definitely no evil .

“Yo , listen up everyone ... ” [Andel]

My thought is interrupted by his voice ... All twelve of us are aligned and looking towards him . We are now near the lake and , besides us , there is one more person here .

A big , bulky soldier standing near Andel-sama... It looks like he is the one that killed the Spider-fish the other day .

He looks at each and every one of us in the eyes and the with a harsh tone he starts speaking /

“I will give each one of you two choices . You are free to choose whatever you consider it’s the best for you . I won’t force you to do anything against your will .” [Andel]

Once again he makes a pause and looks at us in the eyes ... Whatever it is it looks like it’s extremely important .

“First choice is the easy one . If you chose this , you will receive two permanent bodyguards , ten million gold coins and a duke peerage . Then you can live the rest of your life enjoying the life in this world . ” [Andel]

The first choice is not bad ... To become rich and to receive a noble peerage at the same time ... With this, we could really live a good life with no worries in the world . Maybe things are not as bad as they seem .

Ahhh ... To have maids to bring me hot tea every evening while I watch the sun going past the hills from my cherry garden . To travel the world and see all the wonders that exist . To find a beautiful man , fall in love and have two kids that one day will carry my name in this world ... This truly sounds beautiful !

“The second choice is harder ... ” [Andel]

Oh yeah ... There is one more thing that we can choose ... I wonder what could be better that option number one tho ...

“I will give you my demonic blessing and give you the chance to become heroes like you should have been in the first place . ” [Andel]

‘Huuuhhhh ?!?’ [Everyone]

Demonic blessing ? Heroes ? Are you serious ?

This ... To be able to ride on top of a flaming unicorn with a magical bow in hand while shooting arrows that can pierce the heavens ... This had been my dream since I was born ... And you tell me that it might actually become reality ?!?

Everyone has excited faces ... It looks like the choice will be simple !

“Calm down ... It’s not that simple !” [Andel]

Eh ? What do you mean not that simple ?

“I will explain exactly what I mean ...

First of all , as gods have a limited number of heroes that they can create , I have a limit as well . That limit is 10 . Furthermore, I already gave my divine blessing to four people from my former world so only six more spots are available .

In the same time , in contrast to the divine blessing of those gods , my demonic blessing is way stronger but harder to obtain as well .

If for example , all of you chose to receive my divine blessing then I will give it to you . But this doesn’t mean that all twelve of you will instantly become heroes .

To become a demonic hero under my blessing you must pass a trial .

To be more exact , in one year time you must create a divine art .

If you fail , then you will become a normal human and won’t ever have the chance to become a hero again .

Do you understand ? ” [Andel]

‘Uhhh ...’

Everyone is confused right now ... And there is no wonder that this is the case . I mean , there is a lot of information to process ... First of all ...

“A divine ability can be created from your will . Once you receive my demonic blessing you will slowly start to understand what you have to do . But if you manage to do it or not is a totally different thing ...

Now , I don’t want to alarm you but , so far , I gave my demonic blessing to no less than 1.318 people . From those only 4 achieved enlightenment and became true demonic heroes . ”[Andel]

“1.318 ?!?”

Everyone let go of a cold breath ... Only 4 out of over one thousand ... That is insane ...

“Still ... I will smooth things up for you ... If you fail and in one year time you don’t create a divine ability , I will still give you ten million gold coins and the peerage . ” [Andel]

“Then ... What is the point of the second option if we can just choose the first one and receive both the peerage and the chance to become a hero?” [Box #1]

“Well ... To put it bluntly , if you chose the second option you will have a harsh year . Divine abilities come from your soul , but physical and mental stress helps a lot .

This is why this guy is here . He accepted to help those that chose to try to become heroes to be on the edge all the time . ” [Andel]

“So .. What is your choice ? ” [Andel]

I ... Don’t know ... To be a hero sound amazing ... But the chances are too slim and I might die during this year ... Then ... The first choice is ...

“I chose the second choice ... I didn’t come here just to become a boring rich , unremarkable guy ... Either I become a hero , or I die trying !” [Boy #2]

Then one that said those words is one of my childhood friends , Chou ...

“Chou is right ... I chose the second option as well !” [Girl voice#1]

“Me too ! ” [Boy voice #3]

“Count on me !” [Girl voice #2]
