《The Story of an Unusual Dungeon》Chapter 2: Sector Boss (Rewritten)

"Yeara, I know you are scared of spiders but you can't just run away like that" I scolded her.
"I-I'm s-sorry!" Yeara apologized through tears. We have just left the Dungeon, only partially completing our mission. We were chosen to assess the difficulty of the dungeon and see what type of dungeon this one was as well as to map it out as much as we could. We didn't explore much but our primary goal has been completed.
After giving Yeara to the guards to drop off at the temple for healing we proceded to the lord's estate. The estate was on the edge of town closest to the holy site up on a hill overlooking both the city and holy site, the perfect place for a lord. The estate had a tall stone wall with masterfully crafted mason work but the manor was built with enough floors to look over the walls. The guards let us in, opening the mithril gate and escorted us to the manor's door. The courtyard had a wide brick path with masonwork equal to the wall's masonwork, two wandering paths forked away from the courtyard to explore the well cared for garden and trimmed hedges. Gardeners could be seen looking after the garden and two more guards were stationed at manor's doors. A fountains lay in the middle of the garden offering a place to sit and admire the flora.
The guards at the manor's door took their turn in escorting us inside. The manor's entrance hall supported the third floor with two rows of marble pillars and a red carpet running between them to the stairs that lead up to the second floor which wrapped around the room from which people can look down at the entrance from.
We walked up the stairs and turned left down a hallway decorated with paintings and statues. Vases with flowers accentuated glass windows and a clean, fresh small permeated the manor. The guards stopped at the second door on the left and knocked. We could hear the mumbles of conversation emanating from within.
"Enter" The Lord said. We entered the room and saw someone else dressed in a forest green jacket and deep blue pants. The uniform from someone who works in the adventurer's Guildhall. He turned toward with a scowl. He had strong and powerful build with a fitness that one obtains from years of adventuring.
"You could have hired one of our guys, why these delver scum?" The guild man said with scorn evident In his voice"
"Dungeon delvers have the most experience with dungeons, you know that adventurers simply do not have the experience" the Lord replied. It is well known that adventurers don't like dungeon delvers, or to be more accurate those affiliated with the adventurers guild hate those affiliated with the dungeon delvers guild, and I don't blame them either.
"Well, consider my offer, we'll continue... negotiations later" The guild man left and closed the door behind him. The room was tastefully decorated, a statuette stood on the desk, flowers bath in the sun's light in the window and the bookcase was full and organized. The decorations weren't gaudy nor was it too much; it had a simplistic 'less is more' feel to it.
"How was the dungeon?" The Lord asked. He's dressed regally with gold trims and matching red. He had blue eyes and long black hair tied back.
"The beginning of the dungeon was weak. Other floors tend to have more difficult monsters" I reported
"How many floors did it have?" (Lord)
"I'm sorry sir one of our party members is very terrified of spiders so when she saw one she panicked and ran into a pitfall trap, luckily she only broke her leg" I said apologetically
Advertisement
"It's an insect dungeon then?" (Lord)
"Yes. We haven't found the floor boss but judging on the level of monsters, an average of level 5 this seems to be a beginner level dungeon" (Me)
"Hmm, I wanted something stronger than that, it would have been more profitable but at least I don't have to worry much, the level of treasure must be low too" (Lord)
"Actually we didn't run into any treasures" (Me)
"Shame" The Lord said disappointedly. "Well you only partially completed the quest so you only get part of the pay"
"We understand" (Me)
"You may leave now. Tomorrow I will announce the safety of the dungeon and open it for all" (Lord)
"Tallen, why didn't we go back! We could have finished the quest without Yeara!" Our Dwarf said. As we walked through the hallway back to the entrance
"Dorvin, we will always stand by each other through thick and thin, if one of us can't do a mission none of us can if one of us fails we all fail" I reminded him.
"They were level 5! Just one of us could have cleared a room! There was no need to fail this quest, I could and would have taken her back for healing and caught up!" (Dorvin)
"Dorvin, we are the Crimson Delvers, does the color of your cape mean nothing!" Vala, our elf ranger said.
"Dorvin if you want to leave us I won't fault you, if you can't agree with our ways then perhaps it's best, we can find another fighter" Leo, our lion kin said.
"You guys really think I'd abandon you?! I've been part of the Crimson Delvers since it's conception!" (Dorvin)
We walked down the stairs and between the marble pillars.
"Then you'd remember that we chose to always stick by one another" (Me)
"Just forget it, I won't argue this matter." Dorvin said, defeated.
Walking out of the estate we walked back to the temple. The roads were bricked and the closer we got the city center the more the brick work looks like it needs maintenance done. The road dips in some areas, and the roads hadn't seen a broom probably since it's completion. The occasionally broken brick tripped up unaware people and the carriages only helped to loosen the bricks.
The temple was dedicated to the goddess of healing and rebirth, Syluria, one of the five gods of creation. Although there are hundreds, maybe even thousands of known gods these five are above them all. The five revealed themselves as the creators to the entire world many tens of thousands of years ago and since then they have been helping civilizations grow and summoning heroes to fight and push back the demons and demon lords to the abyss.
The temple has two large statues of the champion and avatar of the goddess, easily eight meters tall. They used to radiate power a few months ago but then suddenly it's as if the gods of creation had left us.
The temple was massive like a cathedral resting on a raised stone foundation and mosaics of stains glass decorated the windows of this grand place. I've been to temples before and they always have an air of divinity, but this place has none.
"This Is a test!" A priest preached. "We must keep our faith strong!" the priest was an old frog kin. His wide mouth and webbed hands and green tinted patches of skin gave his race away
While people still visit the temples of the gods of creation the popularity of them is slowly dying.

"The gods of creation will return!"
We walked past the priest and into the temple. The inside was just as grand as the outside if not more. Paintings of the goddess and her past champions and avatars decorated the walls, and magical chandeliers hung from the tall ceiling. Massive pillars of granite held up the ceiling like guardians holding up the world.
We found a priestess who just finished consulting a young man and we walked up to her. She was a bunny kin, she had a cute small nose and tall furry ears at the top of her head. She was dressed in a white robe that accentuated her subtle curves. Her hair is silver hinting at angelkin heritage which complemented her blue eyes and was cut at her shoulders.
"We are looking for our companion who was taken here for healing" I tell her
"Follow me" The bunny priestess walked us toward a side door. "It's good to see that you still have faith in the Syluria"
"Why has she left?" Vala asked. The priestess didn't answer but had a troubled look on her face.
"That must have been a lie" The priestess muttered, shaking her head. I didn't press her for information, but something clearly happened, something causing her to waver in her faith. We entered the healing ward a place with soft beds and where healers tended to the unfortunate. The air in here was not what I had experienced before in other temples. The healers where Grimm but they did their best to hide it from the patients. They'd give them smiles and cherry voices but when their back was turned their smiles were replaced looks of doubt.
"I'm sorry guys, we failed because of me" Yeara hung her neck in shame. Her leg had been set and healed but her mood couldn't be healed.
"I am the leader. I am the one responsible, I shouldn't have forced you" I said, trying to cheer her up. "At least you didn't die, that's all that matters" I hand Yeara some coins, we only got 30% of the full reward "Here is your split of the reward"
"I don't deserve it" Yeara denied
"Nonsense, just take, you were the one who killed the most of the monsters anyway, we just supported you" I insisted
"I'm not going to take it, I don't deserve it" (Yeara)
I sighed, "let's go, you're healed right?" as Yeara gathered her things I go to the head healer of the temple and I give her the money as payment for their services.
"Thank you very much" The head healer bowed to me.
"What happened? Why have the gods left?" I asked
"I-I can't say, it was just a false oracle" the priest shook her head
"False oracles don't have this kind of effect on you people" I insisted
"I'm sorry, but I really can't say"
"You can't? Or you won't?" I leave after saying that, something has clearly happened, something so terrible to shake the faith of even the devote.
We returned to the inn he had rented rooms at, the Sleeping Giant Inn. The signpost featured a giant with a nightcap curled up on a bed that was far too small for it. This was recommended to us, but there was just one problem, it was a favorite of adventurers. Normally in a town where there was a dungeon there would be an inn for dungeon delvers and another for adventurers as the two can't stand the presence of each other but this town didn't have dungeon until recently so the dungeon delver's guild had no reason to be in this town.
We dropped off our stuff in our rooms and visited a restaurant, Barry's Buffet. A place locally famous for its berry pie. I ordered the chips and steak and for dessert I bought the famous pie, Barry's berry pie, for my party.
Something was off about that dungeon, the monsters were too weak and acted strangely as if being... commanded somehow. Yes, they were insects yet the queens only give bonuses, they don't actually command unless they are natural monsters. The traps were all of low level as well, there was definitely something weird with that dungeon, perhaps a little more investigation? We'll stay away from the spiders this time.
"Alright guys tomorrow we'll take that dungeon" I declared
"Haaa? What do you mean? That low level of dungeon? What's the point, the loot isn't even worth it!" Leo complained.
"Think of it as finishing what we started" I say
"Well, I guess that makes sense in a way, but this is the first time we did something like that" Dorvin said
"Dungeon delvers are already here like a bunch of rats. Can't you guys let us have one dungeon?"
"you guys can enter other dungeons you know" I retort.
Turning around, there was a group of 3 people all of them had the same color of navy blue on their armors. Dyed leather, stained plate, dyed cloth. They even went as far as dyeing a lock of hair. The woman who spoke had a strip of blue hair over her right eye which stuck out in contrast to her blond hair. She wore an enchanted and armored dress like a high born lady adventurer. Her personality matched well with her looks from her overly fashioned combat dress to her large bust everything shouts that she must be the center of the world and have the attention of everyone. She used an unusual rapier, although its scabbard was disguised as a parasol the hilt gave it away. Her pale white skin and delicate hands show how little she had to work. Even for a noble lady, her hands lacked the calluses of an adventurer of her level. I inspected her stats seeing her name, Astra, and level at 34. under her affiliation sections in her stats I see [adventurers guild] and [Blue Slayers]
The man standing at Astra's left had his hair dyed above his left ear, his hair was tied back in a tail. The blue going all the way to the end of his ponytail, it was quite stylish and matched him well. He was from another land he came here using the Nexus, a gift from the gods to connect the entire world. The warrior used a katana, had wooden sandals, and wore an enchanted monster silk robe. His is Ken and he too is at level 34, he, like Astra has the same affiliations, blue slayers is likely their group name.
Standing to Astra's right was a woman, she had silver hair and golden eyes. She wore a white frilly, enchanted dress, and wielded a winged staff, she had large white feathered wings sprouting from her back, the thing that separated her from bird kin is her silver hair, meaning she is related to angel kin, if she is a full angelkin she could manifest a faint halo above her head, some angel kin always manifests their halo others tend to hid it. The woman has admirably well-defined curves. Her name is Thera and her level is 32. like the other two her affiliations are the same
"Sure we can enter other dungeons, as long as we pay an exorbitant fee, a fee that those affiliated with the delver's guild don't have to pay" Astra countered with a glare
"What do you want?" I ask.
"We won't let you guys have this dungeon" Astra declared, ken looked defensive but Thera looked worried.
"You guys can have it, it's a low-level dungeon" I say
"I couldn't help but overhear you still wanted to go in such a weak dungeon, surely there must be something good in there" (Astra)
"Not really actually, just following some suspicions is all" I say truthfully
"Suspicions?" (Astra)
"It's just an odd dungeon, far too weak, I thought maybe there was an explanation, probably an oddity with its core" I explain
"Hmm, I don't buy it, there is definitely something in there that you want" (Astra)
"Whatever, if you want to enter then enter it's of no business to me" I say giving up.
The next morning we joined a crowd outside the dungeon just as the lord was giving his speech. The dungeon was surrounded by fortifications in case the monsters rampaged and left the dungeon to attack anything outside of it. There were many different races in this crowd ranging from goblin kin to angel kin and even a minotaur.
The dungeon's room was made of a strange deep blue stone and faceless states stood on either side of the door. The statues are as tall as a giant kin and lacked features, the armor blended with the rest of the statues like it was made of partially melted wax but it was made of the same strange stone as the rest of the dungeon. The door was made of an unknown metal and the roof had a shallow slope that overhung the walls and curved up at the sides so water would drip off at the four corners of the room.
"My loyal subjects, you have my concern and worries for your safety, this is why until now I have closed off the new dungeon so as it's nature can be ascertained. Yesterday I sent out a party to do just this and they came back with great news! This dungeon poses no threat to this city and the safety of its people. For you veteran adventurers and delvers I am sorry to report that you will find no greater treasures in this dungeon, but for those of you who aspire to be like them one day will find this place a great training ground to test your skills and get a taste of your aspirations. I hereby pronounce this dungeon available to all adventurers and delvers alike!" The lord was met with some cheering and applause.
"A weak dungeon just my luck" A burly man with massive rippling muscles said. Closer to a grizzly bear than a man, one could mistake his race with a bear kin. Using my inspection skill I saw that he was level 45, my own party was an average of level 33. The man was a green-skinned orc with large protruding teeth and beady orange eyes. His affiliations show that he's part of the delver's guild like me.
Not everybody has the inspection skill, sure a lot of people do but some people never bothered to learn. It was once said that "A good delver must know how strong his opponents are", in short, if you can see the level, skills, and bonuses of your enemy you'll do fine... or run away if need be. the higher your skill in inspection the more detail you'll be able to see, as the part leader I must know what we are up against and come up with a good plan.
As the ceremony ended and the lord left, the guards let adventurers and delvers in the dungeon. The dungeon was not more than 50 meters from the wall of the city, most dungeons don't appear so close.
My party entered the dungeon clatters of footsteps echoing throughout the hall other people were going in the dungeon as well, mostly novice adventurers. The entrance room is lacking in features like the statues outside. The room was dimly lit by two floating orbs slowly rotating around the center of the room casting shadows easily moving around. The floor descended down with stair wide enough to allow a full group of people to walk side by side.
Once again we descended into the depths of the dungeon and I get a distinct feeling like we are being watched.
"EEEE, why'd we have to go back?" Yeara said gloomily.
"We won't hit the spider area's so don't worry" I reassure her.
First room in the sector, not including the entrance room above us, we cleared the monster Weevil beetles, since they are weak they more closely resemble the non-monster weevils, they are pretty much giant versions of them. The room splits off into four directions, one leading to the entrance above, went through the right path, the last time we were in here we discovered going forward led to a dead end, and we took the left path and encountered spiders.
We walked into another but the monsters seem to have left the room.
"They are retreating" Vala reported, she had focused on training her monster sense skill, a skill useful for dungeon delvers but can't detect non-monsters. Monster sense being specialized is great at what it does, there is no other detection skill that can match it, however, a lot of adventurers scoffs at its limits.
"I've never seen dungeon monsters behave this way" Leo noted.
"There's no use standing here thinking about it if they get in our way we kill them," Dovin said
We went forward at the second fork without any resistance and continued along the path until we got to a room that splits into 3 more paths.
"Which way do we go?" Dorvin asked.
"Hmm, let's go forward again" I decide
"Please no spiders, please no spiders" Yeara muttered.
The next room split again, left and right. And again the monsters retreated to leave an empty room made of the dark blue stone.
"I sense a stranger foe in the left room" Vala observed.
"Then lets head that way" I command
The room was much larger than the normal rooms, and inside the room was a swarm of giant Rhinoceros beetles with one the size of a horse, large spike sprout from its shell and its horns ended in sharp points that could easily pierce any lesser armor.
Is this the floor boss?

I examine the monster with my inspection skill to confirm my suspicions but I found something unexpected.
The heck is a Room Master? Is it like a floor boss.
"This one's stronger looks like it is a boss of some sort" I report
"What does that mean?" Leo asked.
"Inspect it you'll find out" I say
"Hmm, room boss, didn't you say this dungeon was weird, Tallen?" (Leo)
"Yeah, like how the monsters were running away from us" (Me)
"If it is as strong as a floor boss even we might have to try even with our difference in level" Vala warned.
"Don't worry, I have a feeling like it's sort of a mini-boss" I have a hunch that this boss is a lot weaker than the floor boss, but all those buffs are concerning.
"Gunna blast them away, yeara?" Dorvin asked impatiently.
"On it..." Yeara sighed, sounding unmotivated. [Fireball]
The fireball soars through the air and erupted when it hit the boss crisping the adds, the extra monsters that sometimes accompany bosses or are summoned by them.
The fireball dealt a lot of damage to the boss but didn't one-shot it. [Power Throw] Dorvin threw his war pick at the boss but the carapace must have provided just enough defense for it to survive that attack. Vala launched an arrow and shot the monster's eye, and dealing the killing blow.
Monsters started pouring in from the entrance, seems like all the monsters that had been keeping their distance from us.
"Fry them Yeara!" I command.
[Fire Nova] a circle of flame burst out from the middle of the enemy mobs, the groups of monsters, killing them all in one spell. The level difference is too high if we were at the level this dungeon suggests we would be in a very bad place right now. It was as if they waited for us to fight the boss, they probably didn't count on us defeating it so quickly.
"The boss didn't drop any chests and we haven't found any treasure chests yet, does this dungeon not have any?" Leo asked
"Perhaps not it's not a normal dungeon." I answer
"Well that sucks, at least the monsters still drop magic cores and the corpses can have useful material and monster parts" Leo said. "Yeara do the thing"
Yeara chanted a spell, her staff glowing, and the dozens of magic cores ripped themselves from the dead bodies and started hovering around the staff's head. Yeara used her spell to move the cores into a small pouch that she opened. The cores flew into the mouth of the pouch like a stream but the pouch didn't bulge, it was as if the insides were larger than the outside.
"With so many insects this city will be flooded with these lesser magic cores" Yeara commented
"They are so inferior we might as well not gather them" (Vala)
"Should gather them anyway, make our visit here worth something at least" (Dorvin)
leaving the boss room we took the path in front of us we heard foot step in front of us and saw another group of people. We nodded to each other as we passed each other.
"there's an arrow trap along this path, watch for a pressure sensor along the floor." one of the group said.
"thanks, this dungeon has a sort of mini-boss, they are strong for their level so don't let your guard down. Also, the monsters ambushed us as if waiting for us to fight the boss so watch out for that" I return the man's kindness, it's a custom of delvers to share information to fellow delvers who are new to a dungeon, or in this case to share any information about a new dungeon.
"Thanks, we noticed that they like to ambush us at dead ends and from in from the only way out"
We continued this path going around the trap, and guiding Yeara who had to shut her eyes at the sight of dead spiders the other group killed until it split one way leading back toward the entrance and the other leading deeper. Heading deeper we soon encountered we took a split to the left.
"It feels like there is a trap somewhere around here" Vala said making a motion to stop walking.
"You really need to level up your trap sense skill, what is it at? Level two?" Leo complained
"If you don't like it then you train in trap sense" Vala retorted.
"You're the one who gets a bonus to that skill" (Leo)
"It's not that big of a bonus a thief or rogue gets a way bigger bonus" (Vala)
"That's enough, we've gone this far and we've gotten around far deadlier traps" I intervened in their argument. Trap sense is one of those specialized skills but it's hard to level up because if you already know where the trap is you don't gain experience, but that only applies to the trap's exact location so if you are told the rough location of the trap you can still gain experience.
Vala found the trap, a trip wire, and we walked around it. Unfortunately, a ranger like Vala doesn't get a bonus to disarming traps. As our group doesn't have a proper class to detect traps Vala had to take that role but she never intended to hence why it's low for her level.
"Let's go back" I say as the monsters came into sight. Since I was leading Yeara has not yet seen them.
"Spiders?" Dorvin guessed.
"Yeah" I confirm his guess.
"Why do they have to exist" Yeara complained
"I hate you break it to you guys but those spiders aren't just going to let us walk away" Vala said.
Sure enough, the monster spiders skittered into the hallway, crawling on the walls and ceiling.
"KYAAAAAA!!" Yeara took off down the hallway
"Yeara! Don't forget about the..." I heard I a thud
"Ow!" (Yeara)
"...Trap" I tried to warn her. "You guys deal with these spiders I'll help Yeara"
I ran over to Yeara who was nursing her ankle, I swear if she broke it again I am going to wring her neck.
"Does it hurt?" I ask.
"Just a little, I think I can walk" Yeara replied
"How many times are you going to fall into a trap that we already found?" I wouldn't be so angry if she wasn't acting like an airhead at times like this.
"I'm sorry" Yeara apologized.
The others had finished up but this must have been a dead end as I heard the swarms of monsters coming.
"They're coming, fall back into that room!" I order the others and they complied without question. We made our stand as the monster insects rushed in. Yeara blasting them with powerful AOE spells, area of effects spells.
After gathering the magic cores we walked back and continued deeper. As usual, the monsters stayed out of our way, retreating from the room to wait for when we will enter a dead end, it was starting to get predictable.
"I sense a powerful monster in the room in that direction" Vala reported.
"Another mini-boss?" Leo asked
"Hmm, feels stronger, maybe a floor boss? Not quite..." Vala tilted her head looking into the distance trying to figure it out.
"Alright let's take them down and see just how strong it really is"
"ALRIGHT! Let's kill it!" Dovin cheered. Readying his war pick. as insect type monsters usually have tough carapace and thus more resistant to certain type of physical attacks he is using his pick which had armor piercing bonuses.
"Prepare for the ambush. Yeara, we are going to hold off the boss while you blast the ambushers then we'll deal with the boss" I give a rough plan, I don't worry too much on detail relying on our level difference to make up for cutting corners.
Entering the room the first thing that drew my attention was the massive pill bug surrounded by a large swarm of Giant pillbugs. I inspect the boss:

This boss had a metallic plate in place of the carapace, a metal much like Mithril. Spikes Covers the "shell" of the monster and its antennae had a hole at the end like a maw. Its teeth were like shredders and it opened its mouth in intimidation.
"I'll hold the boss!" I say raising my kit shield, bracing for its attacks.
[Sheild] [Valor of the knight] I cast martial spells to boost my defenses.
I don't like that fire spray ability it has. [Brave the Flames] [Draw Attention] I cast a spell to boost my fire resistance and a provocation spell to make the boss attack me instead of my allies.
I turn the enemies, running past them so their back is to my allies, a strategy used against enemies with cone based attacks. I raise my shield and prepare for the attacks. The swarms of monsters just came into the room and Yeara killed them all with a nova spell as usual. The monstrous pill bug slammed into me with it's gnashing teeth grinding against my shield making a sound like metal scraping against metal. I was slammed against the wall my shield arm aching in pain.
This guy is not a mini-boss!
We could beat this boss if we had a healer but we don't.
"Focus on the adds! Kill the swarm to get rid of that buff!" I command through gritted teeth.
Not as strong as a floor boss but way stronger than the other boss we fought, if I were to judge it's strength based on a group of similar level I'd say it's half a floor boss, requiring a half raid about two full groups of dungeon delvers
with the annoying monster from the other rooms out of the way my friends focused on one add after another tearing their health down, since they are part of the same mob as the boss they are also comparatively strong.
[Maximised Spell] [Enhance Fire] [Echoing Spell] [Searing Flame] Yeara chanted casting a strong enough spell to kill one of the boss minions.
[Oath of Protection] [Knight's Duty] [Sheild Wall]. The boss pointed its antennae at me and a searing flame shot out at me, enveloping me in a heat hot enough to be fatal if prolonged but my earlier spell reduced the amount of damage I took. As I recovered from the fire the boss launched another set of attacks giving me no breathing room.
With only two adds left my provocation spell wore off and immediately the boss shot out its spikes at Leo, Vala, and Yeara.
"Stagger your taunting spells next time!" Leo complained.
[Provokation] the boss returned it's focus back to me
"Sorry about that" I apologized between the attacks of the boss
Leo had taken a grazing hit to his left arm and he held it bleeding wound grunt in pain.
"I'm running low on mana!" Year Reported
"Do what you can to this guy" I tell her
[Mana Burn] [All Out] [Firelance] draining all of her mana Yeara cast one last powerful spell searing the flesh under the metal-like carapace of the boss.
"I can't keep this up! Dorvin, take my place as soon as my taunt ends!" I command, weathering another series of attacks and gnashing teeth.
Vala ran out of arrows and charged in close with a short sword made from a monster claw.
As soon as the monster let up attacks and switched to Dorvin I slumped to the ground, my body aching all over.
I hate tanking raid type bosses
Yeara ran over to me while the other fought and helped me drink a healing potion. Healing potions don't fix Conditions like poisons, broken bones and dislocated joints, but they work wonders on more fleshy wounds.
"Thanks, Now you drink a mana potion and so we can get back into the fight"
I drink a mana potion for myself since my mana was running low as well, I never had a chance under the brutal assault of the boss.
The boss curled up and a ball and started rolling toward Dovin and the others. They jumped out of the way but the boss turned to go after them again.
"How are we going to kill it when it's like this!" Dovin complained as he jumped to the side to dodge the boss again.
"We need to stop it from moving somehow" Vala said, getting up ready to dodge the boss as it came around for another attack.
"Yeara, you know what to do" I say standing up and casting my strongest spell [Martyrs Will]. The boss immediately turned it's focus back to me
[Grasping Chains] Arcane chains materialized and shot out from the ground wrapping the boss up preventing it from moving and uncurling. The boss struggled, pulling at the chains but to no avail.
Grasping chains is a very powerful spell with a long duration but it can only be cast once per day.
"Vala take this chance to gather any unbroken arrows from the ground" Vala deals the more damage if she has bow rather than a sword.
[Feirce Slash] Leo roared charging up his attack. [Focus Breath] [Implailer Strike], Dovin unleashed a powerful armor-piercing strike. [Hawkeye] [Point Blank] [ctritical Shot]. Vala loosed an empowered arrow, determined to not be left behind in terms of damage.
After the onslaught of attacks the boss screeched and died, a message appeared:
Sector Lord slain, monsters in Sector 1 floor 1 have been weakened.
So it really wasn't the floor boss, if we want to take it down we'll need a raid.
"We should head back, I for one have had enough of a beating" I say, exhausted

Durning the age of darkness it was said that four people of great power were born. The first man of great might. Who hunted the monster and saw them as know more than a means to an end. He fought to simply feed his hungry for blood and power. He challenged both the heavens and the darkest depths of hell. He made the world know meaning of the word fear. He was a strongest swordsman of the world. During his time their were few who could say otherwise and by his end their was know to be only one who claimed to be his better. There were none who love the sword like him. And there would be none who his blade would love like him. They said that number did not matter to him. That all who face him blade would die without exception. They is a legend of him bringing death to an empire so he could claim the life of widow of a soldier who died of his own blade in the face death so that the sword man would not now the satisfactory of taking his life. They called him the sword of death. The second was a man of great rage. An noble avenger to the weak and and terror to the strong. He was a berserker but unlike most who would attempt to control they rage he would reveal in the through of it controlling him. He would streak across the battlefield ripping both friend and foe apart alike and he would do so with nothing but his bare hand. They called him an immortal they said the more be bleed the more his power would grow. And they spoke of the power to he he could trade his blood for death. They said that no mortal weapon could kill him and that he would rise to fight no matter the injury. There was a legend of him ripping off his own head and using it to club his enemies to death. They called him the immortal wrath. The third was a woman of madness and magic. She was a hated witch. They say that her only objects was to spread misery and hate. It said she lead many a good man from the right path to one of great evil just to she if she was capable of such things. Her experiments left only detestation in their wake as she tainted the lands in some way worse than the worse then the void or darkness ever could. Her magic was a foul and dangerous thing that saw all her enemy become her enemy. That she enter the territory of both the formed of order and the gods of Chao us would not go. That she played with the energy of the void. Legend speaks of a place where she corrupted the very darkness that that claim both the land and the people. Some say light would flee from her presence in fear of the shadows fate for that was her name she was the fate weaver. The forth was a man. He was simply known as… the hero of the world. But this is not his story. No this is a story that speak of the other three The unrelenting swords man The undying wrath The unquantifiable desire But it mainly speaks of their second life. For the age of darkness has long since pases and the age of fire is coming to a close. But as the age dies a new one must be born. ( the idea is that this story will be told from the perspectives of the bad guys. Their motives ,objectives, rise to power, struggles and what they want to achieve. But yes they are the ‘bad guys’ of the story it’s also probably important to note that for the time being it’s going to be written on my phone then edit later when I have the time and feel like it but you should probably think of whats here as a draft until further notice. )
