Menlyn was woken up with a splitting headache. Her throat was closing up and she wondered why she had drunk so much? The least that she could do is was make sure that she went to bed hydrated. Her headache would be less painful.

Menlyn walked over to the kitchen and took out a glass from the cupboard. Then she went on a hunt for some pain killers that would make her headache go away. She took out two pieces of bread, put them in the toaster, and ate them.

When she was done she welcomed the painkillers gladly. She went to the bathroom and took a nice long shower and when she was done, she grabbed her laptop and sat in front of the T.v.

She didn't care for whatever played on the screen as long as there was some background noise, that was great.

Menlyn weekend passed by, nothing special as per usual, she was alone and nothing much that was gossip-worthy.

Today she had dressed causal, nothing fancy as they had a team-building event. Menlyn didn't like these sort of events but what could she do, she had to be there to show that she cared. So much time was being wasted but she did need to know her employers.

She got to work, "Thank you May, I will see you later."

"No problem," May replied.

she went up to her office. Menlyn sat down and started to do a bit of work.

"Boss?"

"Yes?"

"The team-building will be a bit delayed, we have new-comers to the company and we have to register them in.

"Okay Christine, just let me know when we are starting so that I can get ready."

"Yes, mam,"

With that Christine left her office and she resumed her work.

"Mam, it's time."

Menlyn stood up and went outside. She stretched a bit, she got into one of the busses arranged for everyone to get to the event.

Menlyn sat in the front with the driver, she could hear the eager employees talking amongst each other. Of course, they were excited about the food, who wouldn't be.

When they got to the place Menlyn went out and her hoodie hid her face. Most people wouldn't know that she was the boss. They rarely saw her as she was always in her office. She got there early and was the last to leave.

She stood awkwardly, seemed as if everyone had friends even the managers. They were way too many people.

"He is so good-looking."

"I know his green eyes are like the sea. You get lost in them."

"He is new right?"

"Obviously, have you ever seen someone that gorgeous at our company."

"Do you think he has a girlfriend?"

"Isn't he a bit too young?"

"Age is just a number."

Menlyn wanted to roll her eyes, she wanted to start and get this over with. This was going to be a very long day for her.

She waited for the mc to go on stage and the announcements began.

"Everyone stands in pairs." the mc announced.

Oh great, Menlyn thought, well at least she would be out first and she didn't want to endure this any longer.

She felt a hand grab her wrist, "This way."

Menlyn looked up at the person who had grabbed her wrist, wow such blonde hair and green eyes.
