《What if...?》What if you couldn't speak?

The trio woke up at the sound of loud alarm. They weren't in the same white room as they expected. They were outside. The town looked dead and old, with an exception of a big billboard. It lit up and the lady appeared on it.
"Your next what if scenario is: What if you couldn't speak? Go on try to speak."
Agnes opened her mouth to curse the lady but nothing came out. She moved her lips as if she were speaking but it was all quiet.
"You will have to survive in this town for a day. If you do, you will go to the next challenge and if you lose, well, you will already be dead."
Then the billboard changed to a timer with hours, minutes and seconds writen on it.
Agnes tried sign to guys but then remembered they don't know the sign language. Roman took a stick and wrote a message on the ground: "We should try to find some food and water." Oliver and Agnes nodded.
They looked inside the houses, but found nothing useful. Now Agnes took the stick and wrote on the ground: "We can survive without food and water for a day, but I still think we should get some. If we listen we might hear a river or we could just walk around till we find one."
Then they started walking to the forest. After long time of walking they found a river. Oliver brought a pot from one of the houses and poured water in. Roman and Agnes understood they would to have to boil it.
Agnes took out a lighter she always carried around, along with her tarot cards and some other things. Roman picked up some wood and Agnes joined him, meanwhile Oliver made a fireplace.
When Agnes and Roman returned, Agnes lit up the fire and Roman put on the pot with the water. The three of them sat down closely to each other, with Agnes in the middle, Oliver on her right and Roman on her left.

Finally the water started boiling and they let it boil for a few minutes before putting out the fire. Then they let it cool down before drinking it.
Agnes took out her deck of cards and did some reading. She looked like she couldn't understand something, but then her face became relieved. She looked at the guys as if she wanted to say something, but couldn't.
Oliver got tierd and lay down to catch some sleep. Roman just watched them both, each doing their things and thought how it would be when they got out of here. He looked at Oliver, who was now already peacefully sleeping.
A wind breeze tore off a leaf and it landed on Oliver's face. Roman saw that and took it of him. As he did that he touched Oliver's face.
Agnes saw that and smiled. She wanted to tease him, but she couldn't speak, so she just turned back to her cards.
After some time she also got sleepy and so she lay down. Roman was still feeling too anxious to sleep, so he just sat down and watched now Oliver, now Agnes.
After some time he also got sleepy and so he lay in between Oliver and Agnes.
Next day when all the three of them awoke, they decided to walk back to the city with the giant billboard.
When they arrived the clock showed 10 hours left. They all lost track of time, so they expected it to be lower, but it wasn't. After some quiet sitting, Agnes realized she actually had two decks of tartot cards and so she took both of them and mixed them together. Then she walked into one of the houses and tried to find a desk that wasn't damaged too much. When she found one, she placed the cards on in. Then she walked outside and grabbed both of the boys and made them follow her inside. And so they played one of the simplest games, memory matching game.

They played for quite some time, until they go really bored again. Without talking everything felt so lifeless. And the fact that they were the only people here, didn't help at all.
Roman and Oliver started making music by hitting a stick against the rock and whistling. Agnes just looked at them and after some time she joined it. When they also got bored of that they looked at the clock. 7 and a half hours left.
Agnes went to get some water to boil it and Oliver tried to find anything else that is useful. Roman just started stretching and so, they all did their things.
After some time Oliver decided to take a nap, meanwhile Agnes and Roman played rock, paper, scissors and after that, they played tic-tac-toe.
5 hours left. Oliver woke up from his nap. Agnes was drawing with a stick and Roman was just sitting there, looking all bored.
All of them excepted this challenge to be really simple, but it was so boring, that they had a feeling like it took months.
Oliver worte in the ground, asking Agnes to teach him sign language, Roman saw that and joined them.
After she wrote the meaning on the ground she showed it with her hands, then boys tried to repeat. And so they learned how sign the American alphabet, and how to say some simple phrases, but nothing more than that, since even Agnes didn't know much more. She wanted to look it up on her phone, but that was literally the one and only thing they took from them. She looked at the clock, 3 hours left.
Roman went back to the river, took off his shoes, socks and shirt and then went in. The water was cold, really cold, but he still decided to swim. Oliver walked to the river few minutes later and saw Roman swimming. At first Oliver wanted to join him, but after stepping in for just a moment, he changed his mind and so he just sat there and watched his friend swimming.
When Roman saw that Oliver wasn't coming in, he splashed him with water and he looked like he was laughing without voice. Oliver splashed him back, but since he was already in the water, it didn't have much of an impact. Then he took some dirt from the ground and soon after the two of them had a mud fight. After some time they stoped and Roman went underwater to clean the dirt off and in that moment Oliver realized, he will have to do that as well.
Oliver slowly approached the water, taking of clothes now wouldn't be smart, since they where all dirty from the dirt. He stepped in with one leg and his whole body shaked from cold. Roman took his hand and dragged him in. Although Oliver didn't quite like that, he didn't get mad at Roman. Roman then cleaned off his clothes.
After both of them where cleaned they went out of the river and back to the giant billboard. When they saw Agnes sitting by the fire, they ran to get closer and warm themselves.
There was just one hour left. They spent it around the fire, just sitting there, warming themselves.
When the all of the timers digits turned to zero, there was this light rain that took out the fire and after that they all got really sleepy.
