Shadow silent cursed, “Wayne, this-this is going to be close. Remember, you have to listen to me… During this fight at least.”
But the moment the words echoed in her head a diamond shaped object was thrown at her from above.
Dodging to the side Waynev heard two thumps, the crystal landing in a small crater and the robed man landing on the ground.
Shrugging off the robe, his navy blue crystal armor carried only malevolent movement in it's reflection.
“Save the rest of the slaves!” Waynev shouted at the slaves before throwing her pack to the ground.
Hearing the cluster of footsteps behind her she heard a voice that forced her grip to harden.
“Waynev, I’m Iluz.” He raised his palms where two smaller darker crystal appeared.
“Remember the plan.”
“Here we go.”
Shooting the crystal like bullets the soil and roots between the two was blown away in an instant.
Wayne’s body shot into action.
Rushing across the field, dodging people and roots.
Navy blue shot over her head, barely missing her but finding their mark behind.
Screams emitted around her as she beelined to Iluz.
Pushing against a large root Iluz stopped shooting as Waynev came into melee range.
Now the defender he nimbly ducked swerved around Waynev’s left fist, her right giving wide berth and always kept in his sights while her left tried to slither around.
But he saw it coming, as Waynev tried to punch he nimbly summoned another crystal and used it as a dagger.
As he swiped Waynev used her fist to block any strikes that were too close for comfort, trying to sneak around him again he dodged into a slave.
Trying to use it as a blindspot the bound slave wall was turned into a rain of blood-

Covering her eyes Waynev felt a bite on her right arm before she pulled back.
“Nearly got you,” Tone playful his smile revealed teeth cased in blood.
Moving back Waynev went for a quick kick and shoved off a root.
Suddenly his rush turned defensive as Waynev’s foot went ride and her fist instead was used.
To catch him unaware-
“Don’t use the-”
Smashing the right side of his face Waynev couldn’t avoid the kick and was thrown back into a large slave.
Where her punch left a graze Waynev could still feel his heel carved into her ribs, she was internally bleeding.
In the air his feet glowed as a large crystal formed beneath him.
Standing on top of it it began falling directly towards the two-
“Dodge past and then use your-” But as Waynev tried to move her ankle twisted stuck under the root.
“Shi-” Pulling it out she wasn’t fast enough to dodge away from the slave.
Time slowed as Shadow’s mind went into overdrive.
The answer was obvious, the obstacle became the way.
“Use the slave like a shield, then ***.” Her voice blurred but Waynev knew what to do.
Pushing back at the last second as Iluz barely missed Waynev’s body, her leg was hit but-
The slave was evicerated, his stomach completely pieced the massive crystal along with Iluz were stuck in the ground-
Finally using the knucks her fist teleported and ripped into his right arm-
Waynev could feel surprise and-
Rage.
His face transformed as he blasted the crystal under him into thousands of shards.
Blowing up the slaves body and throwing Waynev’s back.
Spinning for what felt like minutes her body finally stopped in a crater of her own.
Everything hurt and the air stank of blood and dust.
Looking up her body was covered in the crystal shrapnel while Iluz transformed into a mix of patterned crystal armor and large crystals embedded into his flesh.

“You-Fckkung-” Voice tearing as his neck bulged and crystals snapped out.
“Biuutchh,” Grabbing a large crystal fragment from the ground he picked it up over his shoulder like a mace.
His finger gripping and the crystal around it crunched but didn’t shatter.
“He*ou**-mana. Outlast him Wayn*,” Shadow’s words could barely be heard in her ringing ears but Waynev found herself on her feet-
Almost as if someone else was controlling her, trying to move her legs however her body responded slightly faster.
Around the two was a cluster of crystals embedded into the floor accompanied by blood and gore galore.
The slaves were nowhere to be seen however, they escaped, Waynev numbly thought to herself as she accepted the reality.
She was alone.
Did Blake escape?
The thought brought her back to reality as she could see the beast coming.
Backing away slowly, her voice croaked as her foot which had been twisted was fully broken.
Still pulling back, the grumbling of the floor got closer-
Turning away from the beast behind her Wayneev quickly went into overdrive-
She couldn’t open her left eye and her right was clouded in more red than the sky could make up.
Taking another step the crystal fragments broke under her feet.
“T*r***, don’*. *** *ver.” Shadow’s voice felt like flashes of noise in her ears as her legs failed to bring her further away-
Failed to help her escape.
The floor rumbled as Waynev could feel a brush of air behind her.
Trying to dodge she barel-
PUuuuuush
A groundbreaking crunch resounded through the field as her body felt weightless.
Then as the world rolled, feeling came back and so did her voice.
Screaming in agony on the floor, what sounded like a crumbly laugh emitted in front of her beaten form.
“Tish ih te Edn.” Broken language was brought to her ears, as Waynev’s body was layed infront of the brute.
Iluz briefly looked at her form before swapping the grip on his mace to the opposite, sharper end.
Bringing the mace in the air he shot it down with the force of a massive staglamite-
A scream pierced his own lungs as his pain went up from his leg, missing his target completely the crystal was shoved into the ground.
Swinging around face transformed into one of fury and blood.
A small woman visibly shook as her hands held onto a crystal nested deep into the Iluz’s knee.
“Fukk Off,” Bringing his right arm high enough to backhand her skull out of her body-
“No-”
Waynev didn’t need the go ahead as her fist teleported through the air and went right through his jaw, her body screaming in pain before being shrouded in black blood splurting wilding over her.
The two collapsed to the floor, the blades attached to the knucks falling from his face as their lifelines both cut and they fell to the cracked ground below.
Waynev’s eye didn’t leave his as Iluz opened his mouth for the last time.
“What… was.. the. point-” His head snapped to the ground.
Waynev felt her own touch the painful soil below.
The world turned into a movie, into a slideshow.
Blake to her left teleported around her as moments which looked like seconds came in and out.
Footsteps ran around her but the world swam.
Legs, blood and a hint of white came to her.
Noise was nonexistent spare a few moments of shouting and horns in the distance.
The last thing Wayne could see was bright lights in the horizon, next to massive crumbling walls.
Runs broke with light leaking out.
In the distance she could see massive demons coming from the forest around her.
They were as wide as the circle she fought him in.
**it *ou*ht who?
Death.

Tavern Cat
Dying and being reborn in a fantasy world as a hero destined to kill the Demon King to prevent a great war is some people's greatest dream. Others, however, may prefer to sit around, relax, take a few naps, and ignore the impending doom. And hey, if such a 'hero' gets reborn as a cat, what's gonna stop them from doing all that? Finding a warm home filled with food, gossip, and comfort sounds a whole lot easier than putting in the work to stop a war. Updating weekly, allegedly.
