i closed the door behind me, still peering at the men and woman mounted on the wall above the fire. it was so eerie. i hoped deep inside my gut that they were fake, but small copper stains around the neck... proved they weren't.
the room was.. small.. but it managed to fit some furniture. there was a desk made of strong oak, a large leather swivel chair facing the fire, and a bookshelf, with many colorful, yet faded books. a carpet was under it all... which just so happened to be a skinned zebra. several plants stood in corners, all of which looked like they needed several days worth of water and sun, even a small cactus was beginning to wilt.
It was then I heard the chair squeak just slightly, that my blood froze. it hadn't come to mind that there would be someone else in here, but the squeak of the chair sounded as if it was caused by a heavyweight like it had been dropped onto the soft surface of the seat.
i looked up, just once, at the severed heads, towards the glassy eyes, and immediately regretted my decision. their expression seemed to have changed, and they were all looking solemnly at ...me.
" please my child... take a seat."
I gulped. there was a person in here. it was a woman, by the sound of it, her voice was soft, and sweet, and sounded almost tinted with an English accent. i tried to imagine her face, but the only thing my body could even do in the moment was pull up the other chair across from the desk, and plop myself down.
the chair swerved around with a soft moan of the wheels.
and there she was.
her face was round and small, and very proportionate. she had small brown eyes that were perfectly almond-shaped and seemed to be smiling at me. she had long black hair that went down past her shoulders, and I imagined her waist as well. she was rather tall, too tall it seemed, and she wore a long flamingo pink dress, that seemed unfit for this place, one because of it's beauty, and two... it was see-through.

" my name is Eirsha. and you must be Camryn, correct?"
it took a minute to take in her words, but i managed to give a quick nod, before hiding my face because of its new pink color. she didn't seem to notice which was good on my part.
" it's very nice to meet you. Welcome to my facility. "
't-t-thanks."
she smiled, bringing warmth to the once freezing room i had only entered less than a minute ago.
i smiled back, though I'm sure mine couldn't compare to hers.
" do you like it here? are you comfortable?"
wow. i just met her, and i already needed to lie.
i nodded again, and i felt my giddy smile shrink to a rather awkward grin.
"good. that is my number one priority. but ... i have to ask... what's different about you? many don't make it here unless they have a special talent, or are somewhat unusual. what is it with you?"
i gulped down spit and a mixture of what tasted like blood, before looking with full eye contact. her eyes... there was something about them.
and then, I did the one thing I promise di wouldn't do. the one rule I followed.
i let my wings out.
it felt like pain at first, but then it felt soothing to finally have them stretched outwards.
she...
she didn't seem surprised... at all. as if she was used to it.
"very beautiful I must say. very few have a pair such as yours."
what...?
and then, the young woman stood, and walked towards the door, in her white heels.
"Please... follow me. i need you to do something for me."
i nodded and once and rushed out the door into the white hallway.
she walked out, and my suspicions of her hair were correct. it flowed far past her waist and down to the floor, as well as her dress which flowed past her as if a wind were somehow magically entering the hall.

" Most people can get lonely here. so i have found a friend for you."
"Thanks..." i mumbled. i didn't need friends. i was fine one my own.
" she's your age, and a little taller than you, and also has her own... peculiarities."
there were... other people like me?
she and I went through the process of wandering through the halls. she seemed to know it by heart. i thought about the past five minutes I had just been through. i met a woman who had a very familiar name, a perfect body, and many many heads of strangers mounted in her office. i wanted to run the other direction.. but I didn't. i was almost... mesmerized. i trailed behind her dress and listened carefully to the rhythm of her heels. she was beautiful. she truly was. but... i knew there was something off. as there was with everyone and everything in this place. it wasn't some happy-go-lucky facility. it was an asylum. a building for the mentally insane and unusual.
she lead me to a black door, similar to hers. on it was a name... one I never had heard in my existence...
"H-Haemir..."
I whispered in my head, reading the name over and over. odd.
"This is her. she's behind the door. however... i cannot go in. she would physically harm me..."
I wanted to ask why she had given me the roommate then if she could be harmful, but I thought of it rude to reconsider her judgment. even if I wanted to at the moment... she was already turning the brass knob.
she opened the door, making it swing open with a swoosh.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
the room was dark... almost like everything in existence had been sucked into a dark black void.
but through it...
I could see two lavender circles, like if you shone a light in a pair of cat eyes. it was like the eerie reflection of the sight of a feeling, but more purple than green. i squinted and was soon able to make out a crouched figure, staring back at me.
a low, deep growl sounded from the room, echoing as if it was coming from large bass-boosted speakers.
then... the figure came closer. and closer... until Eirhsa began to speak.
'stop. you're scaring him. behave."
her voice was harsh and stern, but all the less perfect. she reached her hand out, and flipped on a switch, making the room brightly lit.
the figure coward backward, and I finally got to see who, or WHAT it was.
a girl, looking maybe thirteen or fourteen.
she had a pixie cut, of brown hair, that was straight, almost a hazel color. her eyes were lavender..
the weirdest part. was... she had ears and a tail...
exactly like a feline..
as well as a pair of white wings...
like me.

Under a Boundless Sky
If you were to ask someone what they thought of Revian Snow, they would say that she's small. Cute too. Doesn't talk much. Average grades, and hard to find in a crowd, though you'd think that someone with her looks would be more noticeable. She also plays the popular VRMMO's for some reason, but doesn't like to interact with others too much, even online. In short, she doesn't stand out too much. She likes it that way—After all, it's much easier to keep a secret when nobody's looking for one. If you enjoy my work, please consider supporting me on Patreon. This is a story that spanned for eons. Through a series of misfortune, Ryner turned into an immortal creature that has lived for hundreds of thousands of years. Not bound to one world, he saw war and peace, love and hate, magic and science. The man started as a parentless child only to grow into a powerful and shunned monster. Despite the physical and mental scars, he still fights on. He still fights Alice, his fellow, insane monster and for their own reasons, they kill each other.
