《Aries》vol.2 chapter 11. For the guild For our family

“And here is your apartment, even though it was abandoned because people thought those ghosts were living here and tried to kill them. They decided to leave and head to the east side of the capital.
in one of my missions I met the owner and through my luck he left this whole building under my care so I fixed it up and cleaned it hoping that somebody will live here, but unfortunately nobody did.
So I was happy that you wanted a place to live, because I was kind of afraid that a mage like you was living already in the capital.
Oh! And the rent, you can pay the rent. I mean it’s not that expensive, it’s just five coin rubies, but that’s only after three months.
If that is all you need, then if you’re ready please head to the guild later so I can explain in better detail has into where you can find the other members, bye!”
Viria was saying all of that while twirling and pointing at the various parts of this room that I am suppose to live in. I never really believed in ghost anyways, but if there is an exorcist then I might be a believer.
‘Viria said that she will explain to me about the location on where she last saw or heard about the members, so I better go later or she might get mad, the guild is just a few walks away from where I’m living so it’s good exercise’
The place in where I lived in had a huge living room, a medium sized bathroom and on the side is the kitchen, right now the apartment is empty but on the corner near the window was the bed that looks really dirty.
I lay down on the bed while sighing about what just happened throughout the whole day. I joined a guild. I’m suppose to help the guild, I tamed the baby that I still haven’t given a name to, ‘hmm’
I was looking at the pale reddish color of the key where the baby deer luminous transformed into, it looked like the symbol was two upside V and a two lines in the middle.
“I guess your name shall be charon!”
*Ding*
Pet deer luminous has been changed to CHARON
After the ding the notification popped out, after indicating that I finally named him. I called out on his level and skills to see if he has any fire related abilities.
Name: Charon
Lv: 19
Skills:
Inborn fire control: can control fire to any extent.
Fire control: can change the temperature of the fire the user makes.
Obsidian scales: can change scales to thick black ones that has more protection.
‘seems like he has dragon like abilities. that’s cool, at least I know that he can control fire without using MP, but I wonder if he can make it stronger just like aqua?’
Aqua told me that the reason for the swirling in her slime is that she is making her water control stronger so she can control more water, and to make it more fluid and faster.
‘If aqua can do it maybe charon and Argus can do it, but before that..’ I got up and looked around the room and I have to say it’s a mess, there are dust and cobwebs everywhere and some off the wooden floor and beams looks like they are really peeling.
“Aqua! Argus!” I called my pets. I wanted to summon them manually but I’m too tired so I called them to see if they will summon themselves.
It seems that they heard me and it also looks like charon summoned himself. charon is still Lv.19 so I can’t communicate with him until he evolves.
“Hey aqua, argus, is it okay if you can clean this room up using you inborn abilities. I mean if we are going to live here, I want to at least feel clean” I honestly don’t like living in a dirty place because there are times when dust can clog your throat and make your voice raspy.
‘Okay father, hey Argus! I’m going to water everything first to clean the dust then you will use your electricity to burn off the peeling, then charon will make the make the wood smoother by burning them hard, okay let’s get too it’
Both Argus and charon nodded and did their thing, aqua was currently the leader of the trio because she stated that she was more mature and was the first to join my group.
The cleaning happened for quite a while due to charon making the flames more hotter and nearly burning the wood and making aqua use water to wash the ashes. it seemed that charon could not fully control his flames temperature.
Another problem was argus, he would sometimes make his lightning out of control and leave scorch marks on the ceilings. Like charon he also could not control his lightning. He told us that he preferred to be in combat and release his power.
But aqua gave him a sermon on how it might harm us in the later future. Seems like she told both charon and argus to use mana to strengthen their inborn abilities and make them stronger.

Both of them tried, but failed miserably, so they cleaned up fast and aqua gave a lecture all about inborn abilities and its many uses.
While they were having the lecture I noticed it was getting dark and told them that I was going to be at the guild.
All of them nodded and I left the building.
The building was a two story building with a lot of greenery on the roof. There were bushes, fruits, flowers and a big tree,
I live on the second floor, below the roof.
I was currently walking along the buildings and canal all the way to the guild, but before that I checked my skill [TRUST]
TRUST: by trusting your pets that they will protect you, you have gained this skill to protect them, this skill allows you to use your pets power but only half of its power, the more you level up this skill the more you can unlock their power to use and make it become stronger,
Current skills you can use: Dash, Heal, fire control.
‘Well this sucks..’ I can change the temperature of flames but I can’t produce it, what the heck..
I wasn't really angry, just pissed. I had that mood all the way until I stopped outside the guild.
The guild itself was worst. Some of the wooden beams walls and floors looked really chipped and old. The windows was rusted, lots of weeds surrounding the building and the top floor’s windows looked broken.
When I walked closer I saw some greenery that blossomed white flowers climbing up the walls.
The only thing good about the building was the sign that was on top of the big double doors which was the name of the guild.
All of this reminds me of the post apocalyptic artworks back at my home I saw online.
‘Looks like they are inside... hmm.. I wonder what’s wrong.’ I was in front the double doors and was hearing people talking and screaming.
assuming it was primus and viria I opened the door to find that it was actually them talking to two fat men that was in front of them with long swords pointing towards their faces.
‘I wonder if primus had people he messed with, from the looks of it I think they are working for the capital because those look like what guards would wear’
The two fat men were wearing uniforms with a logo on the back, the logo looks like two swords with thorns surrounding the scabbard.
It seemed like they noticed me.
“Don’t forget!! Two more months and if you don’t have it, your guilds done!!”
After what one of the fat man said they both left pushing me out of the way.
‘ow! What jerks’
“Who were those guys?” I said while rubbing my shoulder.
“They work for the ruler off the capital!” primus said with a disgusted voice indicating that he must really hate them, or maybe he just hate the ruler of the capital.
“What did they want?” I healed my shoulder because it was really swollen and was starting to hurt due it hitting the table edge.
viria was surprised that I used healing magic, because In their point of view I was a summoner and people with healing abilities was rare.
“How… did... You? ehem… those were the personal henchman of the ruler, it seemed that they want money because we haven’t done any recent missions helping people in the south wing, that is all. ” it seems that he was also shocked, but forgot about it and talked seriously about the situation.
“if we don’t pay by the end of two months, they are going to demolish this building and move our guild out of the walls near the slums” he said with a low voice, like he was on the verge of giving up, it seemed that viria was also feeling down.
Sensing the mood I stood up and did the brightest smile and told with best happy voice,
“don’t worry I’m here now, I’m going to help this guild and the members off this guild in any way I can, now that I’m a part of this family, he he” I said while scratching the back off my head,
“Mm you right!!, now is not the time to be down all because we might get evicted!!, we must live today and strive for a better tomorrow, for the guild, for our family” viria said with such enthusiasm,
“”YEAH!!””
I and primus said in a really hyped voice,
“Now that you’re here I guess I should explain the problem of the guild..” viria said heading to a big flip board and was now carrying a stick, pointing to a mass amount of paper all stuck in the flip board,
“Let’s get started!!”
