Inside the Pupa, a black mass slowly materialized, its features became more distinct as time passed. However it was a far cry from a fly. Some rear openings were still in the process of changing.
Meanwhile the wizard was in the process of cutting the flesh. To summon the dragon soul, all he needed was an intact brain, no matter how much time passed. He wanted to eat the flesh first to increase his affinity with dragon magic, an affinity he'd need if he wanted to summon a dragon soul. And for that, he needed to eat the flesh.
With dragon scales, not an easy task.
He and his servants put the dragon on a table. The wizard spent the next hour casting strengthening and accuracy buffs on himself, before he grabbed an axe as tall as the room. In a chopping motion, he struck the nasty wound on the dragon's belly.
A metallic echo reverberated after his hack, his axe got stuck inside the bone, and he wriggled the axe around. Once the axe was free, he chopped it once more, just keen to take any piece of flesh out. Gradually the dragon's body was littered with slashes and more wounds, and most of its scales now hanged loose. A single pull would peel them off.
Exhausted from the physical exercise, he beordered his servants to take the flesh out. Up until now, nobody could have withstood the amount of pressure each buff placed on them, and so he had to hack the dragon open by himself. For a moment he had considered to fetch a butcher, but he really didn't want to leave any loose ends open. The church shouldn't, and won't ever know about the dragon.
