《Death's Heir》Chapter 38 : Brewing (3)

Out of surprise, Azreal slapped the hand out of his lap and off the rooftop.
“What the hell!?”
He slowly walked over to the edge off the roof to see the arm slowly moving on the ground.
“So he can still move it! Wouldn’t that mean it’s still connected to him?”
When he said those words aloud his face instantly turned sinister and he drew his sword.
“I pray this hurts”
Azreal jumped off the roof with the sword in hand and rammed it through the back of Kyles' hand send the sword into the ground all the way up to the hilt.
The arms started to spasm faster and wiggling, it was obvious that it could feel pain and that only made the sinister smile on Azreals face grow bigger.
Using his left hand Azreal held down the hand to stop it from moving as much he then ignited a small purple inferno on his right index finger.
............
Alliance Capital.
Kyle was no longer on the back of guard that was carrying him, he was now only the ground rolling around on the ground.
“He stabbed me!!!”
Everyone in the room knew that he would still be able to feel pain from the arm even if it was severed but to be acting this way over a stab wound was just too shameful but who would’ve known that Kyle would only scream louder.
”Ahhhhh!!!!! It burns!! He’s burning my arm!!”
At the point, his father and sister who were standing there with darkened faces from shame could only run up to trying and calm him down.
“Why are you behaving like a fool!! It’s just fire it won’t kill you!”
His father was truly ashamed, who in the room didn’t have incredible power and legions of soldiers at their disposal so it wasn’t that this was something he could keep quiet, not everyone in this room where friendS so he was sure this wouldn’t be covered up.

“It burns Divine Energy!!!! It’s him again!!”
When they heard this everyone in the room stood up and ran toward him except Rodney.
Rodney was no longer frowning instead he looked like he was having a hard time suppressing his laughter.
”Hurry up and recall the arm, Elk suppress the fire”
Even when he spoke it was clear that he wanted to laugh but was holding it in.
Everyone momentarily froze and looked at Rodney but then got back to Kyle.
“Did you hear that brother? Lord Elk will suppress the fire just recall your arm”
Elk slowly walked over to where Kyle was rolling on the ground, his body gave of the aura of a sword that was still in its sheath.
But Kyle refused to, although it hurt like hell because of the distance he and his arm were separated by it would take at least a month for the fire to reach his body and in the moment taking longer to die sounded a lot better than dying right now.
“Elk if he doesn’t recall the arm with the next ten seconds kill him”
When Rodney spoke this time the playfulness in his voice was gone it was clear that he’d gotten upset again.
“Yes your majesty”
Elk didn’t hesitate, placing his hand on the hilt of the sword.
Ellaena and Kyle Sr. looked at Rodney in surprise but didn’t utter a single word
“Brother are you just going to die like this!?”
One Second.
Three Seconds.
Kyle was still screaming on the ground, his father grits his teeth trying to figure out what to say to convince him.
Five Seconds.
Elk drew his sword and placed it next to Kyles' neck, the moment he drew the sword his entire baring changed.
When Kyle felt the cold sharp steel again his neck he came to realize the fact that his sister and father couldn’t save him right now.

He clenched his teeth and started to recall his arm.
Seven Seconds.
His entire forearm had returned with small flames burning on it but still, Elk pressed the sword harder on Kyles' neck.
“What are you doing!? Isn’t he doing what Rodney ordered?!”
In the entirety of Alliance, only Ellaena dared to call the king by his birth name but no one reacted to it because it wasn’t unusual for her to do it.
“His majesty order that if the arm isn’t recalled within ten seconds I should kill him ten seconds is almost up and his arm isn’t back yet”
Even though his words sounded respectful everyone knew that Elk didn’t have the slightest bit of respect for the queen or her family.
Nine Seconds.
Elk pressed his sword harder against Kyles neck drawing blood ready to sever his head at any moment but just in time, Kyle recalled his fingers.
Ten Seconds.
Elk slowly placed his sword back in its sheath not caring about Kyles screaming in the slightest, his aura once again changed.
When he put away his sword he went over to Kyles' arm slowly.
A thin layer of water covered the palm of his hand, he then placed his hand over Kyles and the same thin layer of water covered it and soon drowned out the flames.
The water also healed his arm but Elk stopped once the wound started to scab.
Everyone in the room knew that this was a cruel punishment by Elk, the fact that he started healing the wound then stopped when it started to scabbed meant that Kyle would forever have that scar especially since Kyle was too weak to continue healing himself.
“Why did you stop? The wound isn’t fully healed”
Elk only shook his head when Kyle Sr. spoke.
“His majesty only order me to suppress the fire nothing more.”
Yet another instance showing Elks lack of respect for the queen and her family.
Ellaena didn’t say a word but everyone knew from her expression that she would try to find a way to make Elk suffer for that but everyone also knew that she was a queen without any real power versus Elk who was the kings right hand.
The winner was already decided before a fight even started.
“What does it say?”
Rodney spoke up to break the silence.
“Azreal not Azrael?....”
One of the unknown old men read what was written on Kyles' arm.
Everyone around started discussing what the words meant out respect they all called it a ‘scar’ but Elk was just a bastard who spoke it exactly as it was.
“Someone branded him your majesty”
Everyone in the room went quiet and stared at Elk with a mixture of surprise and hate but Elk didn’t even spare them a glance, just when the tension in the room was becoming suffocating Rodney once again broke it with the laugh he had been holding in.
“Take my brother to get his wounds treated”
Kyle Sr and his daughter were embarrassed beyond belief, ever since Kyle came back it was just one thing after another no matter how thick their skin was there was a limit.
Kyle Sr stood up and bowed to Rodney
“Your majesty I would like to be excused to go treat my sons would”
“Mhmm that’s fine, you can all leave we’ll end here for today”
Everyone left one by one until only Elk and Rodney were left in the room.
“Did you sense it?”
