《Death's Heir》Chapter 33 : Blank

Kyle had that expression because he knows these soldiers were here to help Azreal kill him.
While Azreal didn't know who those soldiers but I didn't matter he didn't matter he'd just wiped out a camp of soldiers he was sure they weren't going to tell him thanks.
"Damn it! You better hope I don't see you again boy"
With that, he spat on the ground missing Azreal's face by millimeters and turned around and walked away.
Azreal was still lying on the ground with his eyes completely blood red, he'd been completely humiliated, when has something like this ever happened to him? He wasn't even sure of everything that just happened but one thing he's pretty sure of is that even if he can't win he's not going to be the only humiliated one here.
Forcing himself to stand up, Azreal started at the sword in his hand and issued a command.
"Hold him"
With that the spirits all gushed out of the sword all two hundred plus, they traveled on the ground like soldiers on a battlefield but they moved as swift as snakes, although Kyle was quite a distance away it only took them a few seconds to catch up to him and pounce on him.
"Souls!"
Kyle would have never in his wildest dreams expected that Azreal would use souls of the dead to attack him and even though he was stronger than them by far but he was caught unprepared so he fell under their illusions.
Even though the illusions only lasted a second it was more than enough for Azreal to take advantage of, when Kyle broke out of the illusions he saw Azreal's sword a few inches away from his neck, due to the fact that the souls were still touching him his strength was slowly being sucked away, so his mind was a bit groggy but he still managed to raise his hand to block the blade while pulling away from the souls.

The hand didn't stop the blade at all but it slowed it down just enough for him escape slowly.
When Kyle escaped the grasp of the spirits he was staring at his severed arm that was in front of Azreal as well as the spirits that were standing behind him, the parts of his skin where they touch look black like it was rotting away although they could barely be considered wounds they were still there.
"Do you not fear the council?"
When Kyle said that it was clear from his tone that he was threatening him but Azreal respond made him want to rip him apart.
Instead of answering the question Azreal looked down at severed arm and spat on it, if it wasn't for the fact that the voices were getting closer he'd killed Azreal right there but instead he gritted his teeth and ran off into the forest behind the camp but not before he spat out his final threat.
"I promise I'll make you suffer for this not even death himself with being able to take you away from this life without asking me first"
When Azreal saw that Kyle had disappeared he picked up the hand and dashed towards the other side of the forest and just as he was out of sight he saw the commander and a few soldiers appeared.
"How did this happen without anyone seeing anything"
Even though the commander hadn't shouted it was clear that he was seething with anger.
No one stood up to explain because no one knew the answer.
"You can bet that we're going to get blamed for this and if the council get involved that'd be even worst"
After hearing that finally one of the soldiers braved up to ask a question.
"Sir how could we be blamed for it? All of the soldiers who were strong enough to do this have all returned to the capital and also-"

"So what!? We were in the middle of negotiating a peace treaty and as soon as the talks broke down something like this happened who do you think they're going to blame hmmm?"
When all the soldiers heard this no a single one of them knew how to retort all they could do was shut up.
When Azreal heard this he was stunned the fighting had stopped? they were in the middle of a drawing up a peace treaty?
'Shit'
He didn't even have to think to know that this was going to end badly but at the same time he wasn't really sure what could be done, he didn't plan on saying anything to Rhyno because by the time he got back to the capital a soldier would've already told the story and if he were to stand out and say he did it they probably hand him over to the alliance as a sign of apology.
But right now that was secondary to him what was really on his mind right now was the crushing defeat he just suffered.
Thinking it over and over again in every situation no matter the choice he made no matter how he attacked he'd still lose.
If he'd chose to use the purple inferno from the beginning then Kyle would've seen through its ability to burn energy and stopped using energy beams and as for the souls in his sword looking at how easily Kyle broke through the illusions then they wouldn't have been of any help to him either and to top it all off he doesn't know if what Kyle had displayed was his limit.
So no matter what he'd done the only outcome was him losing.
Thinking about it now he was arrogant, it wasn't that he believed that he was the strongest person in the chaos realm it's just that he's never thought about anyone else, his mentality from when he was on earth had come over with him to the chaos realm and for some reason he couldn't understand it was even amplified.
The soldiers were still searching the camp, so while they were doing this he started heading back towards the camp he came from.
While walking he tossed the severed hand inside the space ring, he wasn't really sure why he even picked it up in the first place but what's done is done.
While walking back he'd started to think about his attitude, was his way of looking at things wrong? he knew that he didn't have the best attitude but it felt like something that was engraved in his bones, like no matter how hard he tried he couldn't change a thing.
The feeling of helplessness was stifling......

Hello ladies and gentlemen! Welcome to my first attempt at writing a novel. I am preparing to participate in the 2017 NaNoWriMo event so enjoy the first chapter as that's here early only to ensure that I have a place to post once the event starts. This means the first novel/book will have a target of 50,000 words. I'm excited to attempt this challenge despite the hurdles I will have to overcome. I do have a demanding full time job so planning time to write and make weekly releases starting in November will be my biggest challenge. Also, please accept my apologies on my cover. I'm not an artist and the only digital tool available at my disposal is the stock microsoft paint. So I did my best to create a decent cover as I did not want to steal the work of another. If there are those interested by the end of November in donating a new fan made cover then I will look into replacing the old cover.

Dear Spellbook (Rewrite)
Live. Study. Repeat. Tal never saw himself as an adventurer, but the call to adventure never much cared for his opinion. Despite his best efforts, his search for answers on the murder of his parents ever draws him into danger. Accompanied by a group of seasoned warriors, thus far Tal has gotten by on his own meager magical talents, but when one day he wakes up to find himself back in his bed of the night before, he is faced with a challenge he must conquer alone. What to expect: This story was born of an attempt to create in world lore reasons for many of the mechanics and tropes of D&D, but you do not need to know of them to enjoy the story. It's a single POV time loop story with slow paced progression fantasy elements. The story is not one of fast-paced power ups and non-stop action, but as it progresses, the action picks up. There is a lot of magic system exploration on a system built to unify the diverse magic of D&D into one cohesive magic system. The setting is an original world with familiar races and monsters but with new unique origins and motivations. Book 1 is complete. Book 2 is complete and coming out M-W-F. The complete book 2 is available on Patreon
