《Death's Heir》Chapter 32 : Difference In Power

Looking at how easy it was to toss Azreal aside Kyle tried hard to hold in his laughter but couldn't.
"Is that it? Is this all your capable of? Tsk, that's truly disappointing. There was no chance of you leaving here alive but I thought you'd at least provide some entertainment"
By this time Azreal had gotten up but instead of attacking he decided to ask a question instead.
"Those beams that you shoot out of the ground it's made of your divine energy?"
Looking at Azreal Kyle wasn't sure why he'd ask such an obvious question, for moment.
Him mind was constantly churning trying to figure out what was the purpose behind the question, in a second his mind ran hundreds of scenarios.
He stared at Azreal for a moment but he eventually answered.
"Yes it is, what else would it be made of? Truly the mind of a servant."
Hearing the reply Azreal nodded and jumped once again and just like before another blast came out of the ground.
This happened about five more times before Azreal stopped moving and instead walked back to the place he'd just jumped from standing there and staring at Kyle.
"Your not that stupid after all but...."
Before Kyle stopped speaking Azreal jumped away from where he was with a surprised look on his face, another blast shouldn’t have come from that spot.
Azreal had realize that the closer he got to Kyle the less likely he’d end up on those ‘land mines’, when he got close enough to behead Kyle he didn’t set off another blast instead he used to chains to toss back into the ‘land mines’
Seeing chains rip through the ground Azreal breath a sigh of relief, his guess wasn’t wrong.
‘‘Inferno!...’’
Unlike before when he used the ‘Cresent Slash’ the chains didn’t trying to take it head on instead they broke apart, the wave of fire didn’t even get near Kyle.
Soon after the chains reform and resumed the chase.
"Shit"
While running Azreal tried to avoid all the places where the blast came from before but because of him trying to be so careful, the chains were getting closer.
"ugh!"
Azreal decided to just run however he could to avoid the chains it didn't matter if he ran where the blast came from before or not.
Watching Azreal running for his life Kyle started laughing even harder than before.

"Azrael why are you running? If you tell me where you got a [Extinction] grade flame I promise I’ll let you go"
‘Extinction grade?...’
Turning his attention to the sword, a small patch of fire appeared on it. Azreal stared at in with great interest.
“Do we have a deal?”
Azreal was getting pissed because of Kyle constant ramblings so he started to running straight towards Kyle with the chains not too far behind.
He knew it wouldn't do any good because it was his own chains so it's not like it'll hurt him but for the entire time that they were fighting Kyle hadn't moved a single step and that made him feel like he was being looked down on.
Sure Kyle had said a lot of stuff that would count as him being looked down upon but he had ignored them because he believed Kyle was just trying to distract him.
But something unexpected happened when he was four or five meters away from away from Kyle the chains behind him disappeared and Kyle raised a finger and pointed it towards him.
A feeling a dread started welling up inside him, the bright pink light as the tip of his fingers kept getting bright as the runes came together.
In the moment it would take you to think a small rune circle had formed at the top of his finger and in short order a mini blast was fired off.
The blast wasn’t aimed to kill just graze his tight cheek.
Azreal had yet to register what happened but he still jumped pretty far away, putting his hand on his cheek feeling the blood on the face.
Bringing the fingers that had his blood on it in front of him, his face instantly turned hideous.
"Are you playing with me?"
It wasn't that Azreal would've preferred for Kyle to have shot him in the face but he clearly could've killed him then and there yet he chose to just graze him wasn't he just blatant saying that he could kill him at any time he didn't need to rush?.
"Why would I need to get serious when facing you? Do think your strong because you killed a bunch of Demi's hehe, aren't you overestimating yourself too much? It would seem that I have to show you how large the world is today"

As Kyle spoke an invisible layer of energy started pressing down on everything except Azreal.
“Do you think that the difference between a God and Demi-God is something you can breach with just sheer determination?”
Kyle’s body began radiating a pink glow, with any warning the pressure disappeared, just as quickly as it disappeared it reappeared only this time it wasn’t just a pressure.
The force than permeated from Kyle’s body came down like a mountain, everything within hundreds miles was completely flattened.
The trees, plants, animals everywhere was completely flattened. The forest that was once stood proud for who know how long now resembled a flat plane.
“The difference between us is beyond worlds apart. The only reason why you haven’t been turned into past is because I chose not to crush you”
A normal person would scared to death by the sight of mountain and trees being crushed into powder but Azreal’s mind was already clouded with anger he reached his limit. Kyle didn't even put him in his eye.
The Divine Energy in his body had gone in a completely chaotic state, the fire that surrounded the camp that was originally dying down because of the pressure but now they began to rage even bigger than before.
Seeing all this Kyles expression changed he'd only arrived back at the camp after Azreal had killed all the soldiers by that time the flames hadn’t given off any pressure but earlier when Azreal sent out the fire slash for the first time he sensed a faint aura of [Extinction] so he started paying closer attention but no matter how much he tried to sense the aura it was nothing more than a whiff but now that they began raging the aura became a lot more noticeable.
Kyle was having a hard time suppressing the excitement he was feeling.
"Does the little servant intended to fight? Hahaha even if it was a hundred of you it would make any difference"
Azreal completely ignored him and jumped to avoid a blast that was coming out of the ground but unlike before he didn't just dodge this time while in the mists of jumping he slashed out with the flaming katana.
When the flames touched the pillar of energy it was like a spark came in contact with gasoline, the moment the flames touch pillar Kyle started screaming like he was being beaten to death but in a moment the scream soon disappeared along with Kyle and the pillars of energy.
"I’m going to make you suffer!"
Kyle's voice had completely changed it was filled with nothing but anger fbut that wasn't important what was important was the voice was coming from behind him.
Before he could he even turn around he felt a foot in his back, it felt as if he was being hit with a sledgehammer.
Boom!
He couldn't even breath muchless scream, the fire on the sword was snuffed out in an instant.
Azreal rolled on the ground for a few meters before he was finally stopped and began struggling to stand up again, never would he have expected that Kyle would appear behind him like that.
He had his guards up but still he didn’t sense Kyle at all even when he spoke from behind him.
"Truly is this all your capable of? Without the flame what else can you do? enough of this hand it over....now"
The entire time he was talking the chains had appeared again floating around him, his voice getting deep and deeper as he walked towards was Azreal.
Kyle had disappeared again but this time his voice came from right in front of him before he felt like another sledgehammer hit him in his stomach.
"We are beyond worlds apart! Do you believe me now?"
Kyle didn't allow Azreal to fly too far off his fist, he slammed his elbow in his back sending him back to the ground before kicking him off again, at this point Azreal's face was bloody, every time he got hit he cough up some blood.
"See I told you something was going on over here, the entire fucking forest is gone"
A group of four soldiers stood together stunned looking at the wall of fire as well as the former forest.
“Is that fire?”
"Shit, this is going to cause a world wind of shit for us"
“Send out the signal”
................
........
....
Both Azreal and Kyle could hear the sounds coming closer to them, thanks to the wall of fire they were well hidden.
Both their faces reflected their thoughts, neither of them wanted to get caught here.

Bloodlines
Bloodlines is the first major story set in the far larger and immensely connected universe known as Infinitum. A group of renegades and misfits take into the sky in their fancy skyship to fulfill the prophecy they don't care about and defeat the Empire they care even less about. In the process, they learn things (they would rather not) of the fucked up Universe, dead gods, and the future that holds no mercy. Bloodlines draws inspiration from One Piece. But in the bigger picture, Bloodlines is one of many stories set in Cosmere-like universe where plots stretch beyond planets and star systems and stakes are higher than godhood (like in Malazan chronicles). Currently, I am planning to finish the first arc [Bandit Arc], add 10k words interlude with some revelations, then publish a story happening elsewhere. Then I will be back to write the second arc. For now, the Fifth Region has 8 arcs planned. Officially, there are 5 regions. The Fifth Region is not the shortest but is far from the longest regions. - PS. Pay attention to flavor text. Chapters published weekly.
