《Death's Heir》Chapter 24: Camp

Ever since the day Rhyno had given him the blade of the woman he'd killed as a memorabilia, he's gotten into the habit of collecting things as a reminder of things he's done or accomplished, in the end, Azreal himself doesn’t really understand why he does it.
Dustin and Reyner grabbed the captured female bandit as well as the bandit leader and brought them a little into the distance shortly after muffled screams could be heard.
While Azreal was standing there with Sadie he wanted to ask her why all the bandits were so weak or why they didn't use any form of special skill but thinking back to the fact that he was supposed to be seven hundred years old, and the fact that no one seemed to be reacting to it made it seem like all of this was supposed to be common knowledge.
The entire time he was there with Sadie he didn't really say anything he was completely focused on running the cord through the dire wolf teeth to make a necklace for himself.
Sadie just stood to side watching him with an awkward smile.
"Everyone in position we're leaving now"
Dustin’s voice traveled across the distance while walking over with Reyner who was carrying a bag with three distinctive bloody spots on it,
Noticing the other two's gaze on the bag Reyner spoke up to explain.
"These three are wanted bandits, they only came down this close to the city because of the fighting happening on the border"
"How'd you know?"
"After a friendly chat with them no one spoke up after we killed the leader a piece of paper fell out of his clothes....... they were walking around with there own wanted posters"
Everyone just paused for a moment, letting out a deep breath. Why would you walk around with your own wanted poster?.

When they were back on the road nothing else happened they all talked merrily even Azreal participated in the conversation, when he asked Dustin to help in pierce the tooth so he could string it.
After another two days, they came across some soldiers in Gaza uniform blocking the road so Dustin walked up to them.
"What's going on here?"
"Sorry sir but we're gonna have to ask you to turn back we have orders not to let any civilians through here"
The soldier who had just spoken looked incredibly young and based off the energy coming from his body he was obviously just barely in the Divine Realm.
"I know that there's fighting up ahead but we don't mind we can defend ourselves so you won't have to spare any extra men to protect us"
The soldier just shook his head from left to right.
"That doesn't matter, you're all just civilians so how can we let you through a military blockade?"
Seeing that this was going no where Dustin took out his Humble Lion badge as well as the mission slip and showed it to the soldier. The young soldier looked like he was thinking whether or not he should let them through when another older soldier spoke up.
"Look! We don't give a fuck! about who you are we have orders not to let anyone pass, so guess what?........You're not going to fucking pass!!!"
The soldier had clearly been getting annoyed by Dustin's pestering trying to convince them to let them pass so he had no choice but to speak up before he convinced the younger soldier to do something stupid.
Hearing how the solider spoke to him Dustin felt like he’d just been slapped in the face, with no other thought Dustin want to release his spiritual pressure to see how this fool would kneel and beg for forgiveness.

Before he could listless knocking came from the carriage so Dustin went over to the door.
After speaking to the client for a while Dustin turned around and then back up to the soldiers with a gloomy expression, when the soldiers saw this they thought that the person inside the carriage told him to apologie or something but what came out of his mouth was something that no one expected.
"Ahem...My employer has......"
At this time he turned to look back at the carriage in the hopes that the client would call him back and say something else but he had no such luck.
"My client has informed me to tell you to inform the commanding officer that if he doesn't come out here and let us through he can forget about keeping his head"
When the soldiers heard this they were stunned for a moment before all of their expressions turned ugly from anger, all of them releasing their Divine Energy.
"Who the fuck do you think you are to threaten our commander?"
"Looks like we'll have to teach you some manners"
...............
..........
......
The soldiers went on like that for awhile before the very same soldier who'd cursed him out first spoke up.
"Alright everybody calm down and go inform the commander"
The other soldiers wanted to say something but he shook his head to stop them then he looked towards Dustin
"Kid you better pray that whoever’s in that carriage can protect you"
Dustin couldn’t help forcing a smile.
"I hope so too"
.................
Outside of the commanding officers' room.
"Private James reporting in sir......"
After recievinh the soldiers report the commanding officer was pissed beyond belief, kicking off his room door.
"Where the fuck are they!"
All the veins on his forehead had neck were popping out like they would just explode at the slightest touch, when he went outside saw the carriage he was even more pissed.
It just a regular carriage, maybe a bit above average but as far as he could see it’s didnt belong to anyone worth mentioningz
He had to come out or else he shouldn't dream of keeping his head? who would be so stupid as to threaten him.
When he got out to his soldiers they all pointed at Dustin and Dustin, in turn, —with a moment’s hesitation— pointed at the carriage.
Why should he bear this mans wrath?? he was just a messenger.
When the man saw Dustin pointing towards the carriage he didn't he bother thinking about it instead he just turned and walked to the carriage.
"Who the fu-"
"Commander Zhou....."
It was the hoarse voice that cut him off when he head the voice he immediately stopped talking, at the same time the door to the carriage opened and he obediently stepped inside.
They were in there for about half an hour but no one could hear what they were talking about, when the commander came out his face was unnaturally calm.
"Let them through find a place for them to rest for the night"
When the soldiers heard this they were all surprised who exactly was inside the carriage that could make their commander, who never listens to reason take a step back.
Even Azreal and Dustin were surprised they all wanted to know who their client was.

{The Dragon Within} (Completed)
Meeting his fate at the hands of seven great heroes, the wicked drake now stands in Death's hall. Met with the Grim Reaper itself. Defeated and its pride broken, the drake doesn’t beg or grovel, it simply awaits judgement. It waits for the God of the afterlife to send it on its way, to either the heights of bliss and peace or where it knew it would be sent. The depths of agony and torture, the halls of Tartarus, the father of monsters. Grim looked up from its oaken desk and down at the creature that would have otherwise, if grown wiser and older, matched the reaper itself in power. Its faceless guise, hidden by a black hood and whirling shadows, it briefly stared at the drake. “You are unfit for the sky yet also too fit for the abyss,” Grim spoke, its voice a cracking whisper. “Your time came too soon, the actions you have taken will lead your world to ruin…Be reborn, pitiful serpent. Yet remember what you have done, see what your actions have made that realm into. Let me show you, how your greed and gluttony have warped such a wonderful place and time.” Grim raised its black-feathered pen towards the beast “Be reborn, as the weak pitiful creature you should have been born as. Take this both as a punishment and…a learning experience. For failure, can be the best teacher.” The drake took a step back, hoping to escape this cruel fate. Yet none escaped Death, less so its embodiment. Screaming shadows engulfed his form, ripping away at his body and shape. Fangs of darkness sinking deep into his draconic flesh, warping it, changing him into something else… Opening his eyes, the wicked drake felt none of its power, none of its magic and none of its might. As it stood at the edge of a cliff, looking down upon a ruined valley of rot and miasma. It glanced down at itself, seeing none of its sturdy scales or sharp claws. The drake had been reborn... As a Human. Will also be posting on CreativeNovels found here; CrN Where chapters will be posted earlier than RRL.
