Chapter 24: Trouble Inside The City Walls Part 3
I woke up in a dark place. When I stood up from this bed that nearly broke my back, I found myself behind metal bars.
What happened?
Oh, that's right. I lost to that knight and was probably dragged in here after killing those thugs.
Swiftly, like a ticking clock, I could hear the rain trickling down the roof. I felt the dampness in the air blending on my brow and clinging to my hair. I'm hungry and chilled to the bone, but I've been taught how to ignore that too.
It reminded me of the torture chambers back in the orphanage. For the slightest reason that we did not follow instructions, we would always get thrown to that place. Left to starve for a few days until we've repented for our disobedience.
At the same time, it made me wonder; how are the other children that escaped that dreadful massacre? Are any of them still alive? Or are they also clinging to a false hope like myself?
My brothers and sisters would surely mock me had they known I lost to a petty knight. For me who inherited the title Bloody Claw, my lost would surely bring shame upon my master who carried the same name.
It entered my heart like a knife. This disturbing feeling in my chest made me groan. I want to get out of here. I want to be with Kansouke.
*Sniff*
My heart’s been so reliant. This is what I get for trusting on someone. This is what I get for trusting a human being.
I tried to scratch my nose. I can't for some reason. When I look down, I see my hands cuffed in chains. Not to mention, this sickening sensation on my throat that almost threatens to tear my flesh apart.
I see......
So I'm back to being a slave.
At least I got some clothes on.
"You, get up!"
Somebody called out to me. A familiar voice that I want to kill so badly. Hearing that voice made me cock my head and look up.
It was the knight that subdued me back in the streets. Her eyes were consigning me with a sin I did not commit because I want to. She was judging me behind that gaze.
Damn you. I demand a rematch. This time, without a doubt, I'll end your life before you could even blink.
“Demon! Did you not hear what I just said?” She kicked my jail cell.

What a bitch. There's no need to shout. You irritate my ears. It's not like I can do anything else with these chains binding my wrist anyways.
So I stood up unwillingly. She opened my cell and escorted me out of that depressing hole. Continuing out of the jail, she dragged me out of the door; and the brightness outside that dark space pierced my eyes like a well-sharpened blade.
Faint voices, footsteps, gigglings, and the overpowering noise of the rain hitting the roof that seals everything else. From what my ears had told me, this place seems to be populated.
We walked together in silence in this stone hallways that would seem like it's endless. It spread out on all sides with various wooden doors that adorned the wall.
As we make a turn, there are many more idiots that bore the same crest as her. If looks could kill, this bitch and her peers would’ve killed me a thousand times already.
“If you have something to say, let it out.” I said. “It’s better than holding your grudge off and regret not being able to say whatever resentment you have in your mind. Who knows, this day might be your last.”
“I suggest keeping your tongue to yourself if you don’t want it cut off.”
“Don't let a single win get into your head bitch.”
“Mmph, think as you may.”
While shooting me a mocking glance, she pushed her green hair aside. That mischievous smile curving her lips made me want to tear her face apart.
Acting so arrogant just because you happened to get me on my blindside, CURSE YOU!
We continued walking in silence again, just as if this bitch gained an air of superiority.
Soon enough, we reached our destination.
This doesn’t seem like the gallows where they’ll chop my head off nor does this room gave me a vibe that it carried the wind of my demise. If they are not here to sentence me to death, then what could these human pigs possibly want?
Yet, however normal it may seem, something inside me is screaming not to step passed that threshold. Whatever type of surprise is waiting for me inside, I’m sure I’m not gonna like it. But this bitch won't allow me to dawdle here in silence.
“Get in!”
She forced me inside like a vicious beast and her pushing almost made me grate my face on the wooden floors. Thankfully, no matter how tired I am, I've built enough trust with my body not to lose control.

Gosh, I hate her guts. So much that I would want to ripped them out and feed them to the goblins wandering outside the town walls.
She grabbed me by the arm and forced me to look down. “I have brought the demon as you ordered.”
A more deeper voice than hers answered back. “Thank you for your help Ms. Ordinuz. You can go back to your duties. I will be interrogating her by myself.”
“Yes sir!”
And after closing the door behind her, I am left with an unknown piece of scum.
“Now then, it’s you again. Have you not learned your lesson last time?”
I place my hands on the floor and pushed myself up. This monster’s sickening grin made it seem like he’s the type of guy who gets off from torturing little girls. That’s the type of person I expected him to be; he’s the one who purchased me from the slave dealer after all.
“Haha, still hiding behind that facade? Why don’t you show just how ugly you are—”
He whipped my cheek with a backslap and I spat blood. The bitter taste of iron circled in my mouth.
“I paid so much to buy you and you just had to run away?”
“Who wouldn’t? I’d rather rot away somewhere else rather than take part in your disgusting hobbies.”
“If not for me, you’d be long dead.”
“Then kill me and be done with it.”
I spat the remaining blood in my mouth at his face. That crimson residue crawled on his nose and down to his lips.
Serves you right, you psycho!
But this trash did nothing to wipe my spit off. He circled his tongue around his lips like the pervert that he is and made an expression as if he drank a fine champagne.
“Hmm, and this is why I like you so much. You resist, unlike all the others.”
His actions rake my spine and made my skin crawl. But that was just a hint of how gross he really is.
“If I am to be violated by a worthless scum like you, then I’d rather kill myself.”
“Oh, if you do such things, then I’ll brand him as a spy. Don’t you find it weird that a crazy demon like yourself would warm up to a random human just like that? Were you two accomplices all along? And what of his family?”
While saying that, he took strands of my hair and sniffed them. I turn away, but he keeps leaning closer in return.
“What do you think? A rather fancy tale isn’t it?”
“You wouldn’t dare…”
This is...... disgusting...... I don't know want any of this......
“Don't underestimate my authority. With a snap of my fingers, he, you, his friends, and family could all die. Because of you, his life would be ruined. Would you like that?”
“Try it, and I’ll rip you to pieces before you can even scream!”
I struggled and pushed him away, but my actions just drew a smile on his face.
“Such empty threats. What could you possibly do in that state?”
He squeezes my shoulders and whispered those words at the back of my ear. I shudder and heat rushes into my cheeks. But I held my breath and sustained my anger.
This pervert wants me to do something for him. If that wasn’t the case, he’d long pushed me down the floor and force his way inside already.
“What do you want?!”
He stepped back the moment I screamed.
“Simple… I want to make a deal. Do something for me and you can keep your life with him. Heck, I’ll even make sure that you live comfortably and I’ll forever disappear from your life.”
“And what is this deal that you speak of?”
He snickered and crossed his arms as I shot him a glare so hard I feel like my eyes would popped out and stab him.
“Good. Very good!”
This pervert returned my gaze and the look that he gives me claims me, as if he’s taking ownership of my life. I grit my teeth in annoyance for him to hear.
“Say it!”
I fisted my hands and rushed a strike on his face, but this nimble bastard easily avoids it.
“Patience. We have all day to discuss,” says him, while shifting downward. The next moment, he sweep my legs and I fell sidewards.
“No thank you!!”
Using that downward momentum, I bash my knee at his face, but he shielded with an arm and swats me away. I pivoted around and my feet met the wooden floors with a *crack*.
“I’d rather not restrict you with that slave collar, but if that’s what you desire…”
His magic spark beneath his gloved hand and I can feel the heat rising on my neck. I struggle to my feet, so stiff, and my body jerks forward. I passed a hand on my head, as if this ringing sensation would split me to pieces.
“Aaaaahhhh!!”
Kansouke!!
Don't kill me for this okay?
Well, one more Meles POV before we go back to the present time~

And that’s not changing. No really. He survives by his wit and acute knowledge of how adventures should go, unlike his younger brother Kael who would rather disintegrate his problems to ash. Together, they're on a globe spanning treasure hunt that is about to take a dark turn. While hunting for clues, Joshua decides to rescue an ex-superpowered-assassin named Gianna. Doing so puts a target on all of their backs and thrusts them into a global conflict not unrelated to the treasure hunt. The one thing Joshua knows is that he is out of his element.

Jingyi Bo is in Fates Parallel (An Irreverent Fanfiction)
Fates Parallel is a gripping cultivation story, following the adventures of a half-spirit girl with nothing as she grows both as a cultivator and as a person after arriving at the Grand Academy of Spiritual, Martial and Arcane Arts. It features fleshed-out, believable characters, wonderful world-building that informs the course of the plot, and girls who hold hands. Fates Parallel is a very good story, and you should read it! Jingyi Bo is in Fates Parallel is a somewhat tongue-in-cheek look at this same world from a different angle, following a totally regular girl who brings bad luck with her wherever she goes. It features shallow, joke-name characters, a focus on the least interesting parts of a fantastic world, and girls who hold hands (potentially). Jingyi Bo is in Fates Parallel is an amazingly hilarious (so says me) fanfiction and you should read it! (This is a Totally Author Approved Spin-Off (Fanfiction) for Fates Parallel, which you can find in a number of places including here on RoyalRoad! Please do read it!)

Flesh Forger
Born a bit too late to explore the world, yet far too early to explore space, Graham Lattem is your average 61 year old man - if a little wanderlust filled. That being said, he has a happy home, loving wife, children who check up on him, and a decent retirement fund to live out his golden years modestly. Then it happens. [System Initialization Commencing…] A trick of the light, surely. [Planetary Merger Protocol 331 Enabled] Rumbling can be heard in the distance. Shouts. Cries of anguish. A horrible, ear numbing crashing sound. An earthquake. A hole opens in the middle of his home, and our protagonist falls in as a swirling vortex consumes him. Mountains as far as the eye can see greet Graham as he opens his eyes. Well, and more glowing words: [Welcome To The Macrocosm] [Good Luck] Far away from his family in a world hell-bent on his demise, how will this old, arthritis ridden man survive? Did I mention he has cancer? ===================================================================== Aiming for at least 1 chapter every other day, though there is a very big chance it will more oftentimes than not be more than that! This is my first ever story. One that I’ve been wanting to write for awhile. The system is most definitely inspired by Randidly Ghosthound and The New World, but I promise the story is different! Please point out any mistakes, as I’d love to improve! Also the warnings are just to let me experiment.

Being the God of Hell is a bother [On temporary hiatus]
A group of people dies in a plane crash, but their souls are snatched away by an entity called the Highest One, that wants to make them the gods of a new world in order to guide and control its population. One of the passengers, Viktor, protests this, saying that the people of the new world should be entitled to find their own path in life without immortal beings ruling over them. The Highest One then ask Viktor if he really has that much faith in humanity, and after Viktor answer positively he made him into the God of Hell, tasked with redeeming the souls of the damned, as a way to test Viktor's faith in humanity... EDIT: I'm reworking this novel a bit, changing the first chapters from the "screenplay" form to standard prose. I should be done and start a shedule of one chapter per week at the end of february.
