《Is there a day after tomorrow》Ch 11 First title & departure

Ecstatic. If one had to describe how I looked at the moment, that was the word. Grinning from ear to ear like a kid on Christmas morning, ready to open the presents at a moment's notice. Looking at the level up notifications I saw something that I had totally ignored before, a new type of notification.
Title obtained:
Deathseeker Fulfilled condition : Defeat elite mutant creature 20 levels or higher than you are and live. Title skill- Inspect has been added.
'' If you don't court death, you won't die.'' - Nameless immortal
''Wow... Snowflake really was one tough bastard. 5 consecutive level ups and a title. Hey system you could just give me few hints about getting more titles and I can provide you... uhh...bear with me, stupid puns? See what I did there.''
I called out in my head but the system remained ever so quiet.
''I guess it's not one of those conscious systems from web novels I have read some time ago. At least I could have reasoned with it for a while then.''
After trying out that is it possible to get anything extra from the system and failed, I quickly turned my attention to the skill I got alongside with the title ''Deathseeker.''
If my guess would be correct ''Inspect'' should be just like in the games, Shows level and additional info but I'll find out about it when I try it myself.
''Inspect''
Name: ??? ( Mutated Eurasian brown bear) Level ??? Elite Hp 0/???? Mp: 0/???
As I used the skill and focused on Snowflake on the ground I started to see something similar to World of Warcries targeting a box hovering next to him.
The relatively simple box conveyed the information I could get with ''inspect'' skill.
''While I kind of expected this to happen, it still is a disappointment. It is still level 1 skill so when it goes up, I should be able to see more detailed information about my opponents...''
''Still it's strange, what is this footnote after the skill acquisition? Nameless immortal?''
Wondering what secrets the system and this game of gods hides I finally thought about what of the loot? Do the creatures recognized by the system give anything extra?
Inspired by the thought of loot I dashed next to Snowflake and started to look around if there were anything like drops or the like, but could not find anything on the ground or nearby.
Finally I turned my focus on the cocaine powered battle tank and started to scan his body if there was anything out of the ordinary that I could find. After looking at every part of his body, I still could not find anything useful.

While my hopes and dreams were trampled by the cruel system that did not even give legendary rated swords as loot, I could accept it reluctantly as my haul was plentiful enough.
Outside the sun was quickly getting covered by thick overcast stratiform clouds and soon it would get quite dark, so I started to scavenge the weapons that the Chick & dicks gang were using.
I rejoiced as I found 4 full magazines of ammo, had three guns, a fire ax and plenty of supplies. Wondering what I could carry with me I shifted my focus on the door leading outside when some moaning sounds could be heard, and started to barricade the entrance.
After a few minutes of quick DIY engineering I had fortified the door to endure at least a few hours, and windows with tables to prevent entry.
''Phew, that should do it for now. It's time to sort out what to take with me outside of this shithole.''
I started to sort out my gear and while keeping an extra pistol with me as spare, I honestly could not bring too much stuff with me outside.
''I would get so tired trying to carry supplies and weapons for 2 or 3 persons, better to just dump some of it...''
''I guess this is it, Curtain pole-kun. You have been trusty mate but some things just have to stay.''
While feeling a bit emotional of all the trouble he has gone through with curtain-kun, he grasped it tightly and looked at Snowflake.
''That's your final achievement on our journey.''
While gazing at Snowflake he noticed that something was shining through his eyes that attracted his gaze.
'' What's this? Maybe unexpected loot that I have to dig out following the light? How distasteful.''
I grabbed the fire ax and in hopes of finding something unexpected moved next to the poor Snowy, raised my both hands clutching the fire ax and swung down like a lumberjack chopping blocks of firewood.
Minute after I started my first experience beheading something I could feel that its fur and skin was so fucking tough that I had only made cuts only to 1/4 way in. That's when it occurred to me.
''How can I be so clueless? Beheading a coke addict brown bear seems like the obvious thing in this game to me but I could not even think about increasing the attributes. That way I can get the job done faster and carry more of the gear I need with me duhh.''
I opened my Status panel and silently weighed his options.

''So strength and stamina are absolutely necessary, I also need to get back into top shape as fast as needed so vitality should be included in the list.''
''10 Strength, 10 stamina and rest to vitality? That should be quite fitting.''
Getting excited over the prospect of suddenly becoming twice as strong left him daydreaming for a while, reminiscing of his childhood where he always wanted to be Supraman.
I started allocating the points in and seeing the unallocated points growing fewer in number until it reached zero, I saw that the stats I chose had not magically just risen nor had I become twice as strong.
''This is a scam! Noees my precious, hard earned points.'' I felt betrayed, even the system is lying to me now.
Trying to test if I had received any boost of power from the stats I stood up, did some light exercises and did notice a slight increase but compared to the amount of stats it was dismal.
Not feeling a massive increase of power I decided to continue where I was left off, when suddenly pain started to roll in all over my body. It felt like ages, imagine the greatest case of sore muscles multiplied by 5 and then going to a massage parlor for a full body massage.
Slumping into the ground I kept rolling around in the dirty floor filled with blood and other unpleasant things, trying to keep my consciousness awake I once again opened my status panel and saw the attributes chosen rise steadily upward. I thought to myself.
''Of course the muscle strength just wouldn't magically appear, it seems somewhat like the points are catalyst for evolution that the system gives and body will change afterwards.''
Imagining how his muscles were being broken and then reconstructed into stronger over and over again helped to adapt to the pain, but it was still quite bad.
Squirming on the filthy floor for god knows how long the pain finally started to ease and I opened up the system panel and saw that the stats had been applied.
''Wow, I feel like a new man! Although the process was....quite uncomfortable I still learned a valuable lesson. Don't put all your points at once and regret it.''
Reminiscing the MC from a certain web novel where the protagonist always saved part of his stats in case of emergency power up he thought.
''Yup, if I had tried to imitate that, my only chance to win in fight would have been making the enemy laugh at me to death.''
Getting back to his feet he finally started his unfinished business of finding treasure. Richard picked the fire ax and swung down forcefully and after a few chops he succeeded.
''Well now this was a lot easier than before. Those stat upgrades sure give nice power boost.''
Looking at the chopped head rolling on the ground, he held his breath and tried to think happy thoughts as he approached the beheaded Snowflake, ready to dig in.
He started to remove the extras away, like the brain and the tissue and saw the red glow getting stronger.
''Eww this stuff is so fucking nasty, now let's just hope that this has been worth it.''
Seeing the source of light I grabbed it in my hand, and the next second I heard the system prompt.
[Crystallized mana] skill detected — [Mighty Strike]
Do you wish to learn it Yes / No
Excited, I of course said yes, and soon enough the stone began to melt and was absorbed through my hand. I was prepared for something painful, but the actual process was something like a cool stream flowing against the skin and moving towards the center of my body.
Somehow the stream transmitted on how to use the skill and what the requirements were and I was overjoyed to finally have a skill that used mana.
Packing up everything that I could carry now with the increase of my specs, I was finally ready to set off and did not forget to spit at Snowflake for the hard times.
Looking around if I missed anything I hesitated whether or not to bring Curtain- kun with me. Next to the trapdoor I glanced at the Chick & Dicks gang and felt they were quite pitiful, but now everything seems to live by the law of the jungle.
Sighing and shaking my head I brushed off the emotional guild I felt not warning Elena before she was bitten and justified myself with the fact that they were trying to use me as bait.
Now it really and truly was the time to leave. As I opened the trapdoor and strolled the staircase down into the dark tunnel with the guidance of flash light on the one hand, and Curtain-kun on the other, I did not need to regret my choices made in Valencia any more.
''I will not be back'' Richard said in a poor imitation Austrian accent and continued his journey onwards.

After Z
The signs were all there. A mysterious fever spreading in the wake of the pandemic. Increasing incidents of unrest with surprisingly little coverage by the media. Breakdowns in basic services. Nick had thought for years that total social collapse would come in his lifetime – he just never expected that collapse to come from the unquiet dead. As soon as he was sure enough that the potential danger outweighed the awkwardness of admitting that yes, the dead were rising, Nick grabbed his bug out bag and bugged out. It felt, at times, that the zombie movies, comics, and games he’d grown up with had been preparing for this moment. And Nick was right. But also very very wrong. After Z is an apocalyptic occult interactive serial about survivors hiding from the dead in a forest preserve. A new chapter is posted every week, and every week supporters vote on which way the story flows. This story will be added to daily until it's caught up with its current state elsewhere; if you don't want to wait you can read ahead on my blog.

Try Reincarnation, They Said. It Would Be Fun, They Said.
A young man dies saving his friend from a truck. His soul floats away, where he is then left to drift in endless darkness. He wishes for strength and power, the rights held by the strong. Unexpectedly, he finds his wish granted, and he reincarnates as the force of the universe known as qi. However, God realizes that he screwed the hell up and tries to fix his mistake, only to realize it too late. Out of options, he imprisons the MC on the lowest-ranking planet in the entire multiverse. What happens now? “Don’t I just get super OP?” That comes later MC. This is my first fiction and I'd greatly appreciate criticism. Feel free to let me know any problems you have with my story and any suggestions you may have. Updates are once a week, but will vary in dates. However, you can (most likely) expect a chapter once every week. I may miss a week, but I will make sure to make it up to you by giving you another chapter in a different week. This is also hosted on my website: Lonely Writing. Currently on Hiatus due to personal reasons.
