After the battle of Glulver and the peace treaty, Ray was celebrated as a war hero because of his work. He was enjoying his vacation in Central’s capital Nabaris with his fellow soldiers when suddenly met his childhood friend Joey Johnson. Joey and Ray already had their engagement and in one month, they will marry each other.

Ray: How the vacation is going on? General.

Joey: Ugh! You call this a vacation because of your crazy tactics I have more workload than normal.

Ray: It is not my mistake. Central was pushing us to end the war quickly so, I did what I was told.

Joey: Whatever the cause you ruined my Vacation so, in exchange, let's go-to shopping together.

Then both Ray and Joey went to the city's main market for shopping. Both of them knew each other since kids because Joey belongs to the Johnson household and was the de facto ruler of the western province. While Ray belongs to the brut family which produces one of the best military commanders for Naipoll. Ray's mother and father both died when he was young so, the Johnson family adopt him while the Hefley family of the East adapt his brother. Ray’s older brother M. General David Brut is the current head of the Brut family and also in charge of the Northern forces.

Meanwhile in the shopping district:

Ray: Did you decide what you will wear for the Wedding?

Joey: Yeah, but I will keep it a secret from you until the day because I want to surprise you with my look.

Ray: I don't care what you wear because you look ugly in everything.

Joey then punches Ray in his stomach.

After that, both of them spend time together talking in a cafe about their past and also about war but they were interrupted by a soldier who asks Ray and Joey to immediately come to the army’s headquarters in central. When they went there, they saw Warrant officer Edward Johnson who was one of Ray’s subordinates sitting on a bench with a very depressed look. He looks at both of them with a look which they saw on his face, they ask him the cause of this expression

Ray: What with this face? What happened?

Edward: (While pointing his fingers towards Tim Blackly) ask him.

Then they went to Tim to ask about the cause of all this and he ask them to come inside his office so, he will tell them what is happening.

Inside Tim's office:

Ray: Sir, What happened? Why are we suddenly got dragged to the Headquarters?

Tim: (His hands were shaking with nervousness) Listen, Ray, what I am about to tell you is that your brother got brutally murdered by someone on the way when he was coming to Nabaris. Both of his arms had been ripped from his body and his body got cut into two separate parts.

Joey: What are you talking about, How could something like this happen. Ray please yourself calm.

Ray: (With a grin on his face and no emotion in his eyes) Why are you joking Sir, It is my brother we are talking about he can't be killed by anyone. He was always pure-hearted, honest and a workaholic like a person.

Then all three of them went to the Nabaris army hospital. In Ray’s mind, he always admired his older brother and he want his brother to be the President General of Naipoll. He can’t trust any words said by Tim or Joey or anybody. In his mind, he knows his brother was posted to North and he is going to meet him in a month during his marriage.

In the hospital:

Doctor: Sir, I am afraid there is nothing we doctors could do because he was already dead when you brought him here.

Ray: (Grabs Doctor's collar) My brother' isn't dead.

Joey: Calm yourself, Ray, face the fact your brother is dead.

Then Ray saw his brother's corpse and went into a trauma. Ray’s mental state got worse and worse and he also started acting weird, he stops coming to the officer and also lock himself up in his house. He even stopped meeting people and after a month after the incident, he got a letter which has been written that if he wants to know who killed his brother he has to come north. The letters also contain the chain his brother holds dead because it was given to him by her mother.

The next morning, Ray called Edward, second lieutenant Liam Thomas and begin his journey to the north. When they arrive at Manew the capital of the northern province they saw a Major ranking officer alone coming in their direction.

Unknown Officer: I am the one who summoned you all here.

Ray: (with rage in his eyes and actions) Just tell me, Who killed my brother?

Unknown Officer: Go to the house in Florence Street whose number is B/190 in the city of Andoset, south of Manew and then they will have all their answers.

After the talk with Ray, the Unknown officer quickly left and all of them went to the Manew army's headquarters where he collects all his brother's stuff and left Liam at the hotel. While Ray and Edward leave for Andoset.
