Chapter 32 – Motionless!
Destroyer of my dreams, my family, my relatives, my world was few hundred meters away from me. It was running, jumping and flying in a circle around Kimbra and few demons. Wind that emerged after its wing-beat could be felt from where I was standing. Feelings of anger and revenge were consuming me but I knew that rushing towards the dragon in this state would bring death to me and bring my end rather than its.
I chanted spell for shield to appear around me for protection against dragon’s fire breath. I increased the amount of mana channeled to shield to make it as stronger as I could. I took off as soon as I was ready. I was running as faster as cheetah would. Ulfberht turned into a sword before I reached the place where fighting was going on. Dragon landed on the opposite facing me on two legs; Kimbra and few demons were shocked to see. I saw faint smile on Kimbra’s face. Dragon’s body came down landing on its front two legs and it opened its mouth wide. I could see the sparks. It was going to breath fire out. I ran to Kimbra, I had to protect her. I transformed. My speed got a lot faster and I reached her in time. Increased the size of shield by pouring a lot more mana into it. The fire already was flowing and pushing the shield. I could feel the heat but it couldn’t breach the shield. Massive amount of fire was passing by us. It was only Kimbra and I in the shield and everywhere else was covered in fire. Instantly, last wave of fire came by simultaneously dragon began to crawl towards us. I grabbed on Kimbra’s shoulder with my left arm and used all of my force to throw her backwards away from the battle. I didn’t want to lose anybody else. She dropped somewhere back and lay there unconscious. As dragon was getting closer to me, its head turned a right side to ground. It opened its mouth to catch me. I jump up in direction where dragon was coming from. It saw me up on air and using its rear legs pushed it body up changing its trajectory. I had both of my hands on Ulfberht’s hilt. I slashed it as hard as I could in my transformed state. I was successful as I cut through dragon’s tooth. Pain had dragon to lose its balance, it felt to ground but got on four legs very fast. It roared. Instinctively I howled. Its roar and my howling was shaking ground that we were standing on.

We began to walk in circle watching each other closely. Dragon again tried to bit me; though I couldn’t hit it, I jumped and evaded its attack. As soon as I landed on ground dragon’s tail’s was coming my way and I barely had time to avoid it so I attacked it as strong as I could. Ulfberht’s went all the way through dragon’s tail but could only scratch it. I was shocked. There was nothing Ulfberht couldn’t cut through and dragon was just scratched. Dragon shook its head and looked at its tail. I grinned. I had a chance. It was possible to kill it.
Our battle last for hours and we didn’t reach any conclusion. Dragon was injured in few places and was bleeding and my strength and mana were diminishing. This time when we clashed with each other I cut its left wing and it screamed hard. Blood was rushing out and it turned its head back and burned its own wing base. It was the hard way but most probably only way for dragon to survive. Our eyes met for first time. I could sense its stares.
I had lost my kid, my wife and my mother. I couldn’t even see my kid’s face, s/he wasn’t born yet. I wasn’t 21 years old yet either. Cumaja’s curse and what had happened that day long time ago flashed in front of my eyes. Was it curse’s doings what had happened to my happy life or was it destiny? It didn’t matter any more.
It began to rain. I knew it. It was not curse. It was destiny.
I attacked again. I had new cut on dragon’s face. It’s massive body was and advantage and disadvantage at the same time. I could out-maneuver it easily. Its skin was as hard as Ulfberht but not enough. We clashed few more times. It wasn’t as agile as before because of one less wing on its body. It couldn’t adapt to new conditions. I over-maneuvered it and jumped onto its face and stabbed Ulfberht into its eye. Blood was gushing out. It began to shake its head but I took out and stabbed Ulfberht a few more times before I was thrown away.

It went down. I stood up and walked to it. It was in pain. It was lying on ground and it opened it mouth for the first time as if talking…
[Dragon]: Human…
I kept walking but my strength was going away.
[Me]: I will kill you.
[Dragon]: Human…
It began to chant some spell. It was a language, which I couldn’t understand. I tried to increase my pace to reach it but I couldn’t.
Lots of circles began to appear me on the center and surrounding both of us. I couldn’t move, I did my best but couldn’t. The circles were limiting my advancement, halting me. I put my last strength into it and was able to come as close as to dragon for a distance of a step or two between us.
[Dragon]: This is the only spell known to me. It doesn’t matter anymore. You will die with me.
A bright light flashed all over. I closed my eyes to not get blinded by the light. I opened my eyes. It was like I was a in an all white room but I couldn’t identify where the walls. It was like I was in another dimension. I tried to move but couldn’t. I had my right leg in front of my left leg. Both my hands were holding Ulfberht on its hilt, my arms in the air. I remembered that I was going to kill the dragon. I fully opened my eyes and dragon was in front of me in the same space as me. It began to shrink down. Turning to a small black wyrm. It couldn’t move either. Though it did move its eyes, as I was able to. I felt powerful again. I felt my body strengthened again as if nothing had occurred.
I began to hear a smooth voice that seemed to belong to a girl or woman.
[-]: Ket Hu Aid Eil. RIB EV AY XO. INEM SHEID BAVAC INVER!
After hearing that the words automatically came out of my mouth.
[Me]: Yes, I accept!
[Wyrm]: Yes, I accept!
The place where we were brightened and light flashed again. I did close my eyes.
I could feel the breeze. I opened my eyes. There was a forest facing me few hundred meters away. I couldn’t move my body but I could move my eyes; I looked down and saw black wyrm again. There were magical circles on ground again. They disappeared.
[Wyrm]: Human, I will kill you.
It breathed fire but it didn’t even last for few seconds and it never reached me. I think it wasn’t aware of its size yet. I was still in the position in which we were transported. I put all my strength and attacked wyrm. It barely left alive just before Ulfberht reaching it jumped to left. I was going for second attack when I heard.
[-]: STOP!
My body stopped on its own and wyrm was motionless too.
