《Wolf's Cry》Chapter 18 - The Night of the Full Moon

Chapter 18 – The day of the full moon.
…Very bright light covered my vision. I put up my hand to cover my eyes to not to be blinded by the light. Light faded away slowly. I found myself out of the glass cube with Ulfberht besides me. Wolf was in the glass cube now; we had changed places somehow. It was running around, hitting the glass walls and howling.
[-]: It’s a demon! We should kill it immediately!
[-]: It’s not a demon. It has just gone berserk. Whatever was the reason for it to be doing what it has done is suppressed, and it won’t pose a threat anymore.
[-]: You may be the princess, but you are not our commander! Mages put up the strongest barrier what you know of so that this demon can’t break it and get loose again. We are taking it to village.
I went to cube and put my hand on the wall.
[Me]: Why?
[Wolf]: Do you expect me to sit around and do nothing? This cage makes me go crazy. I hate it. I messed up this time. But next year on full moon I’ll show the world what definition of frenzy is.
I opened my eyes. My body felt enormous. I was a wolf. Unnaturally big in comparison to a normal wolf. Some kind of magical barrier surrounded me and I was being carried away. Elves were walking just beside the barrier.
I felt as if my body was melting away. I began to transform back into human. I began to shrink to the right size. I was naked as if it was the day I was born. I still had Ulfberht on my right pinky finger though. They halted. I could sense their confusion. My senses were godly. I could even feel their heart beats.

I saw the girl who had popped and made that light appear. I teleported out of barrier next to that girl. She was a bit smaller than me in height. The Elven group was in shock as they lost me in the barrier. I put my hand around her neck…
[Me]: Anybody moves, and she is dead!
Everyone turned to face me. They didn’t know what had happened.
[Me]: Which way I should go to get out of jungle?
Total silence…
[Me]: All right!
[Me]: What’s your name?
[-]: I’m Alva.
[Me]: Now Alva is going to show me around and take me out of jungle. I will leave her alone after I leave the jungle. I won’t
hurt her. Though after we leave if any of you comes to traces me or hinder me in any other manner, know that I will kill her.
I looked at Alva. She was blushing. I have totally forgotten that I was naked. Oh God! I picked her up into my arms in a single move and…
[Me]: Where to?
[Alva]: Follow the baobabs.
I began to run at incredible speeds. Sometimes slowing down a bit then increasing the speed again. It took me less than an
hour to reach the exit. I saw the defense tower. I put Alva back on her legs.
[Me]: Thank you!
[Alva]: Its all-good but you cannot go on like this.
[Me]: Like what?
[Alva]: Going berserk. I can help you.
[Me]: How and when?
[Alva]: Here, every night beginning today; few hours before the dawn.
[Me]: Why?
[Alva]: What you mean?
[Me]: Why you want to help me out?
[Alva]: You need it, and we elves are noble race who help out the ones in need.
She went away. I looked around and noticed no presence of elf or any other creature. Smell of blood was in the air. I went back to defense tower and put on spare clothes. Sun rise again from east. I went down the tower. New mage had come for duty. She signed in and I signed out. Went back to barracks. Had a shower and ate breakfast. Found Elana the same day and asked her if she can arrange a meeting with Rahul. A few hours passed and I met him.

[Me]: Commander I want to be on duty every night beginning today. I would like you to approve my request!
[Rahul]: Strange!?
[Me]: What is strange commander?
[Rahul]: You are. Nobody asks for a night duty but you do.
I grinned.
[Rahul]: Elana make sure that he gets to be on night shifts form now on until he leaves.
I went back to barracks. Had a good sleep and woke up barely to be on time for my night shift. Star gazed until I saw Alva. I went up to her… She was goddess of beauty reincarnated into an elf. She had light greenish hair up to her waist. She was wearing a dark green skirt up to her feet but with a long side slit from the left side that showed her left leg while walking which I found very attractive. She had shoulder level crop top. On her head, there was a head chain made out of leaves and roots of a tree. I was in awe of her beauty.
[Me]: Hi, and sorry for troubling you.
[Alva]: It’s all right. Now have a seat.
We bot sat on the grass.
[Alva]: Do you know what or who that wolf is?
I explained her in details about what wolf told me about himself and Ulfberht’s talks about the wolf. I told her about my dreams and what happened the night of the full moon…

The Martyrs: the Generation that Burns
“Perhaps we are indeed the main characters of the story, but who is to say we are not the Galactic Republic in the prequel --- No matter how many victories we seize or how many foes we slay, our fate has been sealed from the very beginning.” --- KR043. Nobody's Way
Foreign Thorn: Book 1 For eight centuries, the people of Isla have wanted for nothing. The Creator, Maere, uses Her power not only to keep them healthy and fed, but also to map the direction of each person's future Path - their vocation, role in society, and even the partner they'll spend their life with. In a world where infighting once threatened the very survival of humankind, the old texts say that Maere personally stepped in to help guide Her creations to harmony. All is not well among the people of the northern lands, however, as Jian discovers when she receives her own long-awaited Path. The Creator has chosen to favour some towns, but not others, leading to anarchy and unrest in the east, and fierce distrust between the neighbours who enjoy Her protection and those who don't. After many nights of disturbing premonitions, visions of a face uncannily familiar to her, and a voice beckoning her to "Homeland," Jian decides she needs to find answers for herself. She hires Madrigal, a surly young traveller hailing from an "unblessed" village, to take her to the southern lands. The swordsman is on the run from something, or someone, but Jian has no choice but to trust him. When the two leave the safety of the familiar and meet Quinn, a mysterious boy who seems to know more about Jian than she does about herself, it becomes clear that there are forces besides the old magics, forces completely unknown to the people of Isla, in play. Madrigal and Jian aren't sure if Quinn can be trusted, but they're certain he knows more than he's letting on...
