Jimmy popped out of his mother (a cute big chested elf waifu who had been pregnant for like 2 years because demigods require so much womb-time to gestate) with a big wail. He was very large and his mum barely survived the birthing. Fortunately, his 'father' didn't consider himself cucked, and raised him well.

The moment Jimmy got his hands on a hammer and some steel, he got to crafting. He started with something simple. A nail for a horse-shoe. With great concentration and care, he swung his hammer and by the end of the hour had finished his nail.

It was mesmerising, shifting from red through the rainbow to violet, and much longer than a horse-shoe nail was supposed to be. Jimmy's 'father' was astounded. "How is this possible? what do I do with it? should I sell it?"

And Jimmy was confused too, for he didn't realize what was important. "I do not mind, it was but a nail"

After making sure the nail was safe to touch - dousing it in the water pail - he passed it to Jimmy. "It is very warm to the touch, but not overly hot. My hands feel a little stronger, a little more dense. Now, son, I am going to get you designs for some weapons. See what you can do with them."

Upon being sold to a passing merchant for a gold piece - horse nails were usually half a silver so a rather big windfall relatively - it passed from him to cheeky thieve's guild member who noticed the Radiant Nail's true value. Many a precious jewel was stolen from high quality lockboxes, for the Nail penetrated the locks with great ease.

Jimmy's 'father' pressed his hands together, grinning with the knowledge that he likely would become very rich with his son's great crafting prowess. Plans for expanding the smithy and buying better materials were already in his mind. He just needed to wait until Jimmy had finished his first attempt at a sword...
