《My Cerberus Girlfriend》Book Two: Chapter 7

From the shadows behind the trees, dark figures appeared as they limped with their arms out. As they moved further, a chill crawled up Roger’s spine.

The ghoul-like creatures were men and women, wearing different clothing from different time periods. Knights, World War two soldiers, and civilians in raggy dresses. All their pale skins were rotten to the bone with glowing spooky blue eyes, moaning as if they were still in pain. There seemed to be hundreds of them, hungry for Roger’s soul.

“What should we do?” Roger asked, shaking in his boots.

The Cerberus’s three heads growled at the approaching dead.

“We have no choice,” Labda stated. “We must run!”

“Get on our back!” Cilla shouted as the girls’ body kneeled in front of him.

Here we go again. Roger placed the shield on his back and the sword back into his sheath. He climbed up the girls’ back and wrapped his arms around Labda’s neck.

The last time he rode on them, he almost lost his stomach. But what other choice did he have? The ghouls, zombies, or whatever utterly outnumbered them he should call them. Labda said they were lost souls, but they looked more like zombies to Roger. They might as well be called zombies.

“Go!” Labda shouted.

The girls sprinted while holding their makhaira swords. If their blades were sheathed, they could run on all fours to sprint faster.

Roger glanced back.

The zombies fell far behind now.

“Look out!” Cilla cried, and then the girls jumped over two undead, who swung axes beneath their feet.

Katina glanced back. “Damn! We need to fight back!”

"Not here!" Labda shouted. Reaching Hade's palace is our top priority!"

Katina growled. "Goddamnit! I hate top priorities!"

Roger kept seeing the dead appear from behind the trees. He wasn't sure if each tree was full of zombies, or every single one hid behind them. No matter where they go, the zombies kept finding them.

Above, a shadow dropped toward the Cerberus women. The zombie landed on them before Roger could warn them.

The girls stopped shaking as they struggled to grab the ghoul. They swung so hard, Roger fell off their back.

He landed on his rear, just as a pirate zombie charged toward him, waving his cutlass sword. Other zombies surrounded the girls, and they swung their blades, decapitating the freaks. They were busy, but Roger has faith in his own basic swordsmanship.

He blocked the zombie's strike and plunged his sword through the zombie's chest. The pirate stared at the sword in his chest and laughed. Apparently, that wasn't enough to turn him into dust.

The zombie pulled the sword out, holding two now.

Roger gulped. "Crap."

The pirate charged as he swung both swords down upon Roger. To dodge, Roger leaped to the right.

The pirate missed, striking the tree. Roger threw his shield and surprisingly it knocked the pirate's head off. He turned to dust after he dropped Roger’s sword.

Before Roger reached for his weapon, something tripped him to the ground. Roger looked up, seeing a tall, muscular ghoul, wearing a chain mail coat and a helmet with horns on his head. A white beard stretched around his face like a hanging cobweb.

After he approached Roger, he raised a large ax over the cop.

Roger’s eyes widened. "Shit….."
