Decent.

That was the only way to describe it. His stats were decent. In fact, he could be counted in as an average adventurer with stats like those. He had been working out quite a bit. Guess there were some results.

The Otherworlder kept glancing at his Spirit Badge with a grin as he walked through the dark dungeon walls. With a bag slung over his shoulder and his mahogany coat carrying most of his necessities, the Otherworlder coursed through the dungeon with confidence.

This was the second time he had stepped into a dungeon since he came to this world. Places of magic created by the world itself. A land with great concentration of mana filled with magic, mystery, and, of course, monsters. That was a dungeon.

One could brave the dangers with their resourcefulness and triumph over the monsters looming in the dungeon to get treasures not known to man, or they could be hopeful of doing so and lose their lives. The dungeons were many, and they were not merciful.

Even in this world that was the physical embodiment of misfortune, the dungeons were a place filled with such bad luck it went into the realm of being the work of a god.

The Otherworlder cautiously moved through the ragged paths. Dark and narrow, the dungeon's rocky paths were hard to navigate through and no one knew where danger would come up.

As he went on, the Otherworlder came across a break in the path as the road split in two.

There weren't any maps for the dungeon either. The dungeon only maintained the number of floors it had. The inner layout of each level changed every now and then, making it very common for people to get lost inside.

Thankfully, one could find an exit with the help of spirits, so almost all parties had a wizard as their key members. The Otherworlder was not bad himself and could manage enough magic to navigate to the outside. Which way to go was the question.

The Otherworlder reached into his pocket and pulled out his prized coin. The gold plated coin glimmered even in the dark dungeon, as if showing off its brilliance.

"I'll count on you, lady luck."

-Swish

The coin soared into the air. Rotating around itself, the coin flipped in the sky as it formed a beautiful arc above the Otherworlder's hands and shot back down. The Otherworlder grabbed the coin and placed it on the back of his palm.

"Heads and I go right."

It was tails.

The Otherworlder clutched the coin and boldly embarked on the left path with no hesitation.

"So this is it… The Galterius Cribs…" Eilhard, the newly joined healer of the Sanguine Snakes adventurer party, looked around the dungeon walls with curious eyes.

"Kick it down a notch. This is the dungeon, Eilhard. We have to be alert at every turn." With his axe hanging from the back, their party's warrior warned the healer in a stern tone.

"Haha, let the kid gawk, Vollrath. Just don't put your guard down." Following as the rearguard, the wizard of the party waved her hands.

"Tsk. Just because Liesl allowed you to doesn't mean you can get careless, ok?" Vollrath clicked his tongue and continued. The burly axe warrior was a kind soul and also a big worrywart. The other two giggled at his usual antics when very soft footsteps echoed near them.

The group hardened itself, prepared for whatever comes up.

"Yo! Relax!" a cheery voice called out. With two daggers hanging from her waist, the last member of the party, Aida, came up to them.

The scout's job was to go ahead of the party and scourge through the area for anything troublesome and make sure they were on the right path. For that reason, Aida constantly had to separate and rejoin the rest of the group.

"Did you find anything?" Liesl asked.

"Yeah, big sis… Well, we are up against the Resolution Split right from the start."

"What? Damn it. Curse this changing dungeon!" Vollrath shouted.

"Hah…" Liesl clutched her forehead and sighed out. "Well, maybe we should give it a shot?"

Aida's eyes widened at Liesl's words. "Really? Do you want to?"

"Well, we have never tried it… and we also have a healer now…"

"But Liesl! Once you choose a path, there's no turning back, and it's Eilhard's first time in a dungeon. He won't be able to!" Vollrath spoke out again. His words made sense, so no one could refute them.

A strange silence loomed over the party as they thought about the situation. Will they have to turn back without fighting even a single monster?

Sensing the strange mood, Eilhard clutched his white robes and bit on his lips. Liesl was the most collected one amongst them. If she suggested they go they should be able to, but were only holding back because of him. "Uh… umm! I-I can do it!"

The Sanguine Snakes stopped and looked at their healer.

"No, it's too much—"

"—Y-you guys are very strong already! And well, I might be new at this, but I am not bad as a healer." Eilhard clutched on his clothes even further. He wasn't wrong. They let him join specifically because of how good he was as a healer, and that included working under pressure.

"A dungeon is a strange environment and all, but… I have faith in all of you. If you guys can do it, then there's no reason for you to hold back because of me!!"

Finishing his words, the healer started biting on his lips again as he lowered his gaze in nervousness.

"What do you say?" Liesl asked.

"Umm, I trust Eil-boy." Aida nodded.

"I am in too. It's about time we start expanding our horizons," Liesl said.

"Argh!" Vollrath scratched his head furiously. "Alright! Fine! Let's do it!"

The Sanguine Snakes smiled as they all came in agreement. After sharing a few more words of encouragement and caution, Aida guided them to the first phase of the Resolution Split…

… And they set off on the right path.
