《A Wolf's Way》Thinking on your feet

Hearing his name called Lupos made his way out to the combat ring with Fenrir in toe, "Listen up Fenrir we're aiming for a win albeit an unimpressive one. We throw the match next round and hopefully make sure Lucio or Wing gets to the final so we can stay in the Shadows." Fenrir gave a wolfish grin and nodded slightly "sounds good."
Stepping into the ring the announcer's voice rang put once more "the match will begin in five minutes so until then please feel free to bet on your favourite!" Lupos laughed at the arenas way of making money before turning to stare at his opponent.
She was slightly talker than him and had blue black hair and fierce golden eyes, on her shoulder was a large golden eagle with eyes of the same colour and had a similarly coloured sword by her side. "This is bad," remarked Fenrir in mindspeak "sometimes if a person has a very strong contract with their spirit they inherit a feature of said spirit, those golden eyes spell trouble, not only that I'd guess her affinity to be light magic."
Visibly Lupos did not change however on the inside he was feeling slightly worried and annoyed; it wasn't that he couldn't beat the girl. He was sure he could, the problem was beating her would require him to fight on even ground with her which would require much more talent and power than he was currently pretending to have.
He could just let her win seeing as how he was planning to throw the next match anyway, but he still wanted to do well enough to gather Mervyn's attention, after all even though Mervyn promised to apprentice them if they made it to the top ten, Lupos needed to show a decent level of power and fighting to get him interested.

So if he needed to win and couldn't make it look like it was because of his fighting prowess, there was only one way to go, fight dirty. Lupos could feel the grin forming on his face as he plotted everything he could do to help...nudge the match in his favour. Finally the announcers voice rang out once more "Gale Foryst versus Alexis Storm let the match begin."
Not wasting any time Lupos ran towards Alexis earth daggers formed and drawn while Fenrir ran towards the eagle. However, Alexis was just as fast as Lupos' deliberately lowered speed and easily countered, but that was what he wanted. His earth dagger immediately lost shape and reformed around the sword unbalancing the sword as well as blunting it.
Alexis snarled at Lupos's smug face as he smirked at her, gritting her teeth Alexis transferred her sword into one hand and wielded it like a club. Attempting to block and dodge Alexis's attacks without showing too much skill Lupos didn't notice the golden eagle escaping Fenrir's grip and attempting to dive bomb him.
He noticed when he felt the beak slamming into his skull. Retreating to the edge of the ring, Lupos felt the blood dripping down his face while the crowd cheered. Suddenly he felt angry. He let out a savage growl that had Alexis step back.........right into the pit trap Lupos had secretly hidden since the beginning of the round.
As she fell into the pit she tried desperately to grab her spirit's outstretched talons, but Fenrir was just as annoyed as Lupos for letting the eagle go. He wasn't going to let it happen again. The eagle pinned under Fenrir's claws, Alexis hung onto the edge of the pit and attempted to use her own light magic to blind Lupos so she could gain the upper hand and escape the pit.

However Lupos had seen her muttering and closed his eyes while kicking the place he had last seen her hands. It was unfortunate for Alexis that Lupos had spent the majority of his life hiding in the dark and the shadows. Not being able to see did absolutely nothing to affect his abilities.
Opening his eyes Lupos saw Alexis at the bottom of the pit and raised an earthen spike to her neck. "Do you surrender?" asked Lupos in a cold voice and Alexis gulped and then nodded "I surrender." Lupos nodded and quickly removed the earthen spike and created some earthen stairs to help her climb out of the pit.
Exiting the ring without looking back Lupos was suddenly struck by the silence of the arena, once again stunned by his poor sportsmanship in using hidden traps as well as sabotaging an opponents weapon with magic. Lupos met their gazes and let out a savage grin. "Hope you enjoyed the show" his voice rang out throughout the arena as he smiled and returned to the viewing area.

A Nation of Distances (possibly a dystopian love story)
Michael lives in a toxic macho world with extreme male hierarchy. When he gets a weird rating that makes his place even more problematic he's forced to choose a fiancée at a Wife School, and he slowly discovers more about the other side of the great divide between the sexes in The Nation. If only the world would stop being so complicated... On the other side there's Megan, who's more interested in books than in marriage, and the unpredictable Eliza who seems to have a connection with Micheal already. Will they be able to cross the distance and become friends against all the rules of their own world, or will they just be crushed? Are positive relationships between men and women even possible? And is there a way to change the world or is that just a naive thought of a silly wimp? 'A Nation of Distances' is a slightly dystopian dialogue-heavy drama set in a low sci-fi future setting about the war between the sexes, disconnect and friendship. The genre will fluctuate in between more slice-of-life parts and soft sci-fi drama with possible romantic elements, with alternating lead and switching perspectives once more of the main characters are established. Content Warning: Certain concepts and scenes might be disturbing and/or triggering to some, even though the story itself won't be extremely heavy most of the time. Sexism as a double-edged sword destructive to both sexes is an important part of the story, but so is friendship.Note that all descriptions of persons and places are purely fictional and made up by the writer, and any resemblance with anything in the real world is a coincidence, since the real world is not supposed to be dystopian anyway!

Smoking Bandits
With a gaze that was hard to describe, Lark stared at his body in the mirror. Not his body as a human, but his other body. Head of a reptile with rows of sharp teeth, a 180 cm tall body that is full of muscles, covered in scales formed green and black tiger stripes. Clawed hands and feet, with a tail strong enough to crush an adult neck. 'Man. . . can I still be called a human?' In the end, with a deep sigh Lark changed his form back into a human. A moment later, he came out of the room wearing a combat dress, tactical belt with shoulder strap, and jungle boots. While inserting a magazine into an AK-102, Lark muttered. 'Whatever, time to hunt Orcs.' *****
