《Agnes of Raegma》Chapter 11~ Like every other day...

First of all, I would like to state that Mordred is an interesting and unfathomable being.
He has made my days action filled.
Even till now I laugh when I remember how he fried Lilian’s hair with the excuse of:
“Such impenitence!”
He cracks me up.
Mordred is a fallen angel. The name fits his appearance perfectly. He was sent out of the ‘divine plane’ (pretty much heaven). Of course I understood nothing of this concept but I just accepted it as it was. He said he was stripped of his powers and would have died if he didn’t go to the Lucic realm (hell) for conversion.
He was looking for a way out as he didn’t want to become a demon but his energy force was already turning black and if he didn’t undergo the conversion, it would spiral out of control and destroy his divine soul.
He said I saved him.
Normally you can’t take an angel or a demon as your familiar. You could bind demons to you though. A familiar contract can be severed although with repercussions but a bind can only be removed by the master.
However he was neither and couldn’t be bound nor left alone. I had seen him and told him to become my familiar and I’d prevent him from becoming a demon that he loathed. He chuckled and told me to try. I did and because of my special energy it worked. All the black energy vanished and my energy replaced it. He said that he was surprised, shocked and extremely happy.
I was actually glad to have been of help. It made me feel calm knowing I wasn’t so much of a bad person regardless of my early assumptions.
As to the reason why he got sent out of heaven well… he had a slight problem with women. I wouldn’t call it slight but he said that’s what it was. He would spent his free time watching ladies bathe and was caught. I judge that is not a respectable act for an Angel. He said he’d always been like that though.
When I asked him how he became an angel in the first place he just shrugged and said nothing. I was flabbergasted. They should do better background checks or something. (AN: A pervert angel…just wow)
Mordred didn’t fail to amuse me with expert display of magic. Albeit failing a few times because of being unused to casting spells on earth, he was very good. He also talked about how pointy my ears usually were which I took to mean they would grow even pointier. He said he could cast a spell on my nails to stop them from growing but he seemed reluctant because I was apparently very fond of them. He agreed after much persuading though.
It has taken me quite a while to get it into his head that magic is not a regular thing around here. He keeps lighting the gas for Valerie….

In summary, life since his appearance has been a blast. I guess first impressions weren’t everything.
%%%%%%
Mordred stared at the lady he revered. She smiled a lot now and he could guess how it must have been to have realized everything and yet still be sane. It just showed how much will power Her Majesty had.
However he was having a bit of a problem. His Majesty thought he was around 20 years of age. Such thought was blasphemy to a highly ranked official of the Golden Jewel sect. One he no longer belonged to.
But it was from Her Majesty so he let it slide.
But how would he break it to her that he was 345 years old?
Even worse, he had heard her comment on her ‘young’ beauty and feeling sad that old age destroyed everything but…. Her Majesty was 510 years old. (AN: Holy cow)
The life span in this world was extremely short, that he had deduced but he didn’t think that Her Majesty would abide by the same rule but of course she would, it was where she’d woken up to.
He sighed audibly.
“What?” Agnes’ voice sounded absentmindedly.
“Thinking” he said quietly
“About what?”
“That monstrosity of a female” (AN: *pfft*… I kinda pity Maddie)
KA-POW!
Mordred felt his body fly backwards from the impact of her feet on his body and hit the wall landing on the floor with a Thud.
He was now able to materialize because Her Majesty’s connection with him had been redone so he was physically hit.
“Is everything okay?” came the mother’s voice from downstairs.
He chuckled softly.
Agnes gave him a strict glare finally looking up from her book, “Yes Mom!”
“Be careful!” the mother shouted back a hint of worry in her voice.
“It’s not funny. I told you that Maddie’s family happen to all have chiseled faces, even the mother’s so she turned out like that” Her Majesty pouted.
Mordred thought the expression was quite cute. Though, he realized that he might not see this expression again once she found out about everything. About Harvy and Kayla. He shook his head and pushed that thought away. Those memories would be revealed when the time came.
He looked at Agnes and smiled. She treasured this new friend of hers and Mordred was glad however, he would not trust the girl. The past was now hammered into him that he wouldn’t make such a mistake again.
(AN: If you figure out the storyline from this little interaction please do not spoil it for other. Thank you! *bow* I will also interchange Agnes and Elizabeth quite often so please tell me if it gets a bit confusing.)
“My Lady” aren’t you supposed to be at school?” he asked.
“It finished some days ago for now. Be as perceptive as me” she chided. Mordred just smiled.
“My Lady”, he began speaking his mind, “how old are you?”

Agnes turned to him, “how rude to ask a Lady of her age”
“If I recall you were born in the winter, right?” he continued without heeding what she said.
“So?”
“You just turned 18?”
“Ah truly, you weren’t here in November right?”
“Ah yes…I think”
“November is the eleventh month”
“Oh ok”
Mordred smiled at her understanding. They had the same number of months and days in Vetranos however the names were different. It would take him some getting used to.
“Yes. I just turned 18, why?”
“Your Maje----”
“Lady” she butt in.
‘Ah’ Mordred sighed inwardly, ‘She hates ‘Your Majesty’ even more so than before’
“My Lady, if I were to tell you your real age what would do?” he continued smilingly.
At that, Agnes sat up, “I have been curious for a while. Pray tell?” she dropped her book.
“You are five hundred a----”
With that Mordred found himself flying with a kick again.
An everyday occurrence.
%%%%%%
‘Agh! I am so pissed!’ I growled. He brings up my age and then proceeds to tell me I am 500?! He was even about to say extra years.
What a joke.
Although I thought this, I truly felt that what he said was true. I remember not thinking 50 years was a very long time but 500? I felt a bit guilt at kicking Mordred but I kick him ever so often. Almost like it was the norm between me and him he always accepts it with a laugh. Although he could also be one that liked pain however creepy that would be.
However, which girl wants to be told she is 500?
That would make me the oldest of oldest of grandmas.
But if I am 500 years, I probably married somewhere along the line.
So I presented my speculation to Mordred and he froze.
Then stammered as he said I had no husband
It was quite the sight so I bothered him for a while, inserting a few threats here and there but he refused to change his stand.
I got bored of prodding and let it slide. If he didn’t want to tell me, there must be a good reason; usually a reason for my benefit.
“Hey Mordred” I said getting off my bed and moving to the windows, “Let’s go out”
“I see…”
“What?”
“Have you asked the madam?”
“Oh Valerie…” I realized and sighed.
Ever since the day I busted my body I could count the days she had let me go out on one hand. Maddie had to be with me so I was stuck with my schedule of sit ups and push-ups.
To be more precise, I would be. Mordred finally made his spell work 6: 1 and he also made an imaginary track. I retract my earlier statement.
Such a good familiar.
“We should give it a try” I shrugged looking at the soft falling snow. I went to the closet and picked out a gray parka and black jeans. I grabbed my gloves and walked out the room with Mordred disappearing into thin air. He could reside inside of me for some reason. Perks of being a familiar except he said because of our weird bond, I didn’t have to waste energy summoning him.
I say we but Valerie didn’t know of Mordred’s existence. Nobody did. Ok not nobody. I made him reveal himself to a bunch of kids to test if they could see him or not. They could. But I could imagine the discussion with Valerie to introduce her to Mordred.
“Okay just so we’re clear, Elizabeth’s dead and I am Agnes” I would begin.
“Huh?” Valerie would reply, “What is it now”
“I am a powerful, at least I am told, being from another planet”
“Okay” She would play along.
“As proof” I summon fire on my left hand and water on my right, “these”
“Elizabeth dear don’t play with fire” Valerie would chide, “But how are you making the water spin like that?” she would get interested.
“I know, cool right?” I would get side tracked for a second, “No, Wrong! I am seriously a different being from another planet. Mordred” I would call and he would materialize.
“This is my familiar” I would state and she would just stare blankly before asking
“Who is this young man?”
“I just said it. My familiar” I would retort.
“No on a more serious note, who is he?”
I would sigh, “Believe me will ya, sheesh. M-Y F-A-M-I-L-I-A-R” I would make the water on my hand sprinkle on her face to rouse her.
Then she would scream.
That’s how all my speculations end anyways. With her screaming.
I doubt it would be very different from the actual thing.
Besides I didn’t want to lie about Mordred saying he was a homeless man who helped me or something. He said he could hide his wings and change his hair color and appearance to fit in but I wouldn’t budge. Something in me didn’t want Mordred to lose his radiance.
“Va—Mom~” I sing-sang as I jumped down the stairs.
“Yes?” She replied fondly from the kitchen.
“I want to go out” I stated bluntly appearing in the kitchen.
“Sure~ don’t get yourself killed” came the reply.
I was stunned. “a-ah, um, t-thank you…?” my mind wasn’t processing it well.
Every other time was a straight forward, “No” and I was expecting myself to be heading back upstairs. Maybe she realized she's been to strict?
YES!
Mordred was busy laughing at my stunned face.
“Go on” she chuckled at my reaction.
I smiled, “Yea…”
I walked briskly to the door and opened it wide, ready to explore the places I hadn’t really seen in a while and those i'd been wanting to see.
