《The Traveling Shop Keeper》12 - A big sword

TitanicNotes glowed, and he pushed off his right foot, launching himself at the dragon. He pulled his tree trunk arm, readying a punch.
"FAAAAAALLLLLLCOOOOOOONNNNNN…" A small, a pop of light flashed behind his elbow, shooting his fist forward in a blur. "PUUUUUUUUUUUUUUNNNNCCCCHHHHH!!!!" His fist glowed red just as it connected with the dragons head.
The dragons head snapped to the side, then quickly weaving back side to side, surprised at the sudden attack. It looked down on the Titan, with a what looked like confusion, not understanding the damage it had just taken.
It took to the air, after a few feet, the ground rumbled under TitanicNotes. A pillar of stone shot up from the ground, launching the Titan into the air. He came crashing down head first, managing to get his arms above his head, avoiding the critical damage.
Tyler closed the window in front of him, completing the contract. His credits draining quickly from his earlier windfall. He looked up, seeing the dragon slowly coming around, he looked around, wondering where the outline was.
Finally, it appeared, two feet in front of him again, slowly revealing details of the person coming into view. Half a minute later, a female dwarf appeared, a sword just a bit shorter than her in height in hand. The sword was massive, 24" in width, it was a wonder she could hold it up in one hand.
She looked down at Tyler, "where?"
Tyler raised his hand from his thigh, and pointed at JarsForJars. She looked at Tyler, before she was about to yell at him and clear up what she meant, when she heard a boom behind her. She turned, to see exactly what she was looking for, the dragon raising it's head above the warrior.
She smiled, squatting down, bringing her left hand to the sword. Suddenly jumping, she shot towards the dragons face, swinging her sword, a yellow trail following the swords path. Her sword slid across the side of the head, doing nothing more than leaving a small scratch on the scales. The impact of the sword on the other hand, managed to push back the creature, it growled in frustration.

It turned quickly, picking off the warrior in mid air, sending her flying. JarsForJars curled into a ball, and she glowed red, her body turning, she uncurled, landing feet first, sliding across the ground, bring her fist down into the earth, making three trenches as she slowed her momentum.
Tyler was blown away by what was happening in front of him. TitanicNotes final blast looked amazing, showing his proficiency in unarmed combat, using the specialized Superman Punch. Then this tank of a dwarf showing up, and going toe to toe with a fucking dragon. She dished out enough damage to stagger the dragon, and took a smash that could be used for clan promotional videos.
The dragon pulled its head back, then snapping it forward, fire exploding from it's open mouth. It was heading straight for JarsForJars, her eyes opening wide. She stabbed her sword into the ground, the face turned towards the dragon. Her right foot slid beside the base of the sword, her right shoulder lining up along the sword. Her left hand came across her stomach, palm pushed into the sword to provide extra support.
She screamed out "PROTECT!!!" The sword glowed, a forward facing barrier slamming into existence. The fire roared towards the warrior, and Tyler held his breath, knowing that this was supposed to end the Dwarf.
The fire split around the turtled Dwarf, her eyes and mouth shut as she held her breath. The grass burned around her, but a small green patch remained just under her, and a small tail behind her left foot.
The fire ended, and the warrior stepped back from the sword, pulling it from the ground. She draped the sword over he shoulder, resting the blade on her enchanted True Steel shoulder piece, in an obvious display of defiance. The more blatant a display, the bonus return of stamina from a successful block was increased.

The dragon screamed at the female dwarf, but she did not back down. Then suddenly, the dragon whipped it's head to the sky, in the direction of where Four and the horses went. It quickly took to the air, and went in that direction, not even sparing a glance at the mangled group below.
JarsForJars fell down on the ground, sucking deep on air, not hiding how taxing the skill she just performed was. She looked at the Titan first, hearing a gentle song come from the beast of a character. Titans weren't so bad, they were outcasts, similar to the dwarves. She could never party up with one though, just because she didn't want to bring more negative attention to the Dwarves, who were trying to create an alliance with the Warrior Kingdom.
She turned her gaze to the character named Pylioth, the poor kid was a mess. Looking at his gear, it was clear that he must have just finished the tutorial, and spawned into the world at the wrong time. Maybe this was the introduction of this new system into the world, this kid being the first one with the ability to create contracts.
She sighed, opening her combat UI, wanting to review the combat log from the fight. Her two hand sword level increased to 243, which fell well short of the 300 point requirement to graduate from enthusiast to practitioner. She used the time flipping her windows to steady her mind, she needed to get the thrill of combat out of her mind to calmly assess her situation.

Midara: Requiem
"When the alternative is extinction, all acts, no matter how heinous, are permitted." The story of a little necromancer who only wants to play with abominations against all that is holy dollies and her horsey, Mister Clackybones. Welcome to the novelization of one script I designed for a video game setting I call Midara (I selected the name of a genus of moths for symbolism purposes, not to be confused with anything else). Once upon a time, I dreamed of the setting being the next Final Fantasy. Long story short: Nope. Requiem itself is meant to be an Open-World RPG which adapts to the choices of the player. This is just one of many, many paths that one might follow in Requiem's gameplay, if it ever becomes a game.
