《Happy Ending》Chapter 35: School day 2

Inside a classroom, before the class starts, there was a boy who was sighing as he hit his head on the table. Before he knew it, a week had passed and his shoulder was better for him to go to school. It still hurt a little, but he could at least use both arms now like normal.
Lucky, even after what happened that day, his friends still delivered the homework at this house, although it was tossed in the front yard like it was the newspaper. With that, he managed to not be behind his school work. His extended vacation would be perfect…if only it wasn’t for her.
(Mom… for raising me all these years alone… I can now see how great you are…)
For the circumstances to not be repeated, he continued to teach the girl more about common sense. How to interact to others, what manners to follow in a daily basis, the dos and don’ts of acting in public and so on.
For the boy’s fortune, the girl actually listened to him and paid attention to each detail of what he said. Day after day, she would show him the results of her studies and Chris would cry tears of joy when the sun was down as he watched her behavior like a normal ordinary person in his town and there wouldn’t be any need to worry about her again… how he wished this would be the reality.
When they were both alone for the lessons, she would often reduce the distance between them and cling to his body like it was a pillow or touch his body to look at his reactions or just stare at him in a daze. Each time that happened, she would forget about the real meaning of why they were there and Chris would need to start it all over again.
When he managed to make her obedient, it would be almost the end of the day and his homework would start to pile up if he didn’t start it, so even then the lessons didn’t serve to teach her much. And these patterns repeat day after day.

No matter where he would go, she would follow him to everywhere he went not counting the bathroom, but even then she would wait near the door for the boy to exit. In this so-called “resting time” for his shoulder to recover, the only time he could rest was when he went to bed, that even then he would wake up in the middle of the night to see if she didn’t enter inside his room.
He even feared that she would follow him to the school, but she stayed behind to help his mom in some things at home, so he didn’t need to worry about this, at least for today.
What was supposed to be a week of progress and learning turned out to be just lost time with the only positive side being all of his homework was finished.
Teaching the girl was a bigger task than what he originally thought, and now that he would need to go to school, his chances of teaching her would decrease and the little progress they went through would be lost.
Lost in his thoughts, once again, the boy sighed. There wasn’t any gain if he continued to think like this. All that meant was that she wouldn’t go outside the house for now.
Chris got up from his seat and looked out the window. His class was on the third floor of the school with the view towards the gymnasium and sports fields. The snow from before had all melt and now it returned to the same old scenario he always watched.
The members of the sports clubs were doing their morning exercises. All of them so focused in their training that made it look like there weren’t any problems in their minds to worry about. Just go forward and you will reach the end, this was the feeling Chris felt every time he watched the training.
(If… perhaps if I could also have…)
That motivation, if he also had that, would it make him able to solve the problem in his mind? Just go straight and don’t look back, use only your feelings to move you forward. If, just if he could do that, maybe he would be able, not only with the girl but also with…

(…No point thinking about the past now)
There were things a person can’t change no matter how much they want to fix it. No pointing to remember them and imagine how it would be if they changed. Just learn from them and never repeat the same mistakes again.
Thinking about that, Chris returned to his seat. Not much longer afterward, the classroom started to become flooded with the usual classmates he hadn’t seen in a week.
There wasn’t much interest among them regarding the injury he had, saved for a few questions of how was him before they returned to the same old routine each one of them had.
It was just like a normal school day. The only ones that could show some interest in him were David and Max, but they were from another class.
It didn’t take long before the History teacher came in and everyone sits on their own seat.
-Good morning everyone – the teacher welcomed them and turned his sight to Chris – As you all can see, Mr. Chambert returned to the class after receiving the injury, but still I will ask to him to not use excessive force for some time. It would be a shame if he stayed behind the lessons.
After his brief warning, the teacher started to write a new subject on the blackboard.
Chris opened his notebook and started to copy the contents. As he listened to the teacher’s explanations, for the first time in a while, he thought about neither the girl nor the game. It was as if all the things went back as they used to be.
Then suddenly, after thirty minutes or so of lecture, a knock was heard in the classroom’s door. The teacher went there to answer it and started whispering something to someone behind the walls.
Some of the students got up from their seats and went near the door to hear what the teacher was talking with great curiosity.
-At this time…why now… it’s almost half of the…are you sure…no, I don’t have-
But soon the teacher realized what they were doing and exited the classroom, closing the door and the students went back to their seats.
About five minutes had passed since then and the teacher made his return.
-Sorry for the wait.
He walked to the other side of the blackboard and looked all over the class, especially the students who got up to spy on him.
-For the curiosity of some, it was the vice-principal telling me some news about this class.
With nothing new happening since the start of the year and a bit tiresome for a few, this small phrase made most of the students intrigued, making small gossips about what it could be.
-Everyone, calm down. – Not letting the situation got out of hand, the teacher told his students. It would be too annoying for him if the students didn’t hear it soon, so he turned to the door and said:
-Please, come in now.
And then, one person came through the door. All of them watched, boys and girls alike, as if they were hypnotized by the way she moved through the room.
Stopping at the center of the blackboard, she turned her face towards the class and said with a charming smile on her face:
-Hello everyone. My name is Midna and I will be attending this class from now on. Please take care of me!
