《ARC》Book 1 Chapter 85 An Incense Worth Of Time

Noah deactivated his abilities as he withdrew something from his [Zero-Space Dimension Ring], which was long forgotten. In his hand, he held the swimwear bag he had used to hide the existence of his pocket dimension. Now was the time to examine what was inside the swimwear bag. Noah needed something to cover his face. He dumped its contents onto the ground in a heap as he shook the bag upside down.
There was a grey towel along with a two-piece floral-patterned string bikini. He could choose any of the items to be used as a facemask, but he unhesitatingly decided on the towel. He wasn't particularly fond of the idea of wearing women's swimwear on his head.
For the next step, Noah began searching through Lyn's pockets until he found what he was looking for, the origin root. The origin root was still glowing with pink-lifeforce, reassuring Noah that his plan may work. Lyn's limp body still had the occasional blue shimmer, showing that his vitality hadn't yet depleted.
Holding up the origin root, Noah began to infuse it with lifeforce, causing a plant shoot to grow on the end rapidly. The grass field had returned to its unsuspicious state. Noah reached down to pick the towel off the ground, wrapping it tightly around his face. Next, he gripped the sprouting origin root in his hand tightly while approaching the meadow. He swung the gripped origin root in an arc through the tall stalks of grass. The quiet field was instantly replaced with a sea of flames, igniting the freshly grown herb stem like a matchstick.
Noah quickly shook out the flame, leaving a steady stream of smoke lazily spiralled upward from the embers. He maintained the flow of lifeforce so that it continuously grew as it burned. He returned to Lyn's side with his makeshift incense stick, holding it close to his nose. Lyn wasn't breathing as the subtle blue-lifeforce under his skin slowly dimmed in intensity. Noah placed the burning stick closer to Lyn's nostrils in an attempt to force the smoke up his nostrils.

"I hope this works," Noah said aloud.
He watched Lyn's pale face closely until the smoke began to sting his exposed eyes. As Noah began to lose hope, he suddenly felt a sharp prick inside his mind. Something was resisting his subconscious.
[Anomaly Detected. The System suggests that the User enters Meditation to investigate the cause.]
"haha, It worked!" Noah exclaimed as he laughed in excitement.
As he prepared to attempt to enter [Meditation] without Roger's guidance, an image formed in his mind. It was a memory of the tracks leading from the crater the boss's body formed on the sandy beach. The trail led into the forest. Then the memory shifted to Noah from Lyn's perspective, standing in the white meadow outside the garden of horrors. They were looking at the prismatic beam of light shining down on an unknown location.
What are you showing me? My crew went to the village? Are you saying that I can follow the beam of light to get there? That's it! If I can get to the Store, I can get a healing potion to save you!
Noah felt a sense of agreement inside his mind before another memory lasting only a few seconds appeared. This time the memory was located in the forest beside a small stream that a person could easily step across. Granny Yaga sat on a boulder in front of Lyn as sunlight trickled down from beneath the branches overhead. She had a kindly expression as she smiled gently toward Lyn and a small girl beside him. Noah could only see the girl's long hair reaching down to her waist. Lyn held an overwhelming feeling of love directed towards the girl. Granny Yaga had a broad leaf in her lap, which she held up to display as she began to speak.

"This leaf is called Cure-all because it can cure almost any toxin found on the island. It grows beside the water so that you can find it easily in an emergency. Just plaster it over a wound using mud, like this. It will stay there until you can find help," Granny Yaga said with a smile as she demonstrated.
She stood up beside the stone she was seated on then ushered the children closer so she could show them what to do. She placed the wide-leaf down on the rock then bent over to scoop a handful of mud out from the stream, plastering it over the leaf until it was completely covered. The memory faded as she gestured for the children to try it.
"Will that work? I have to find it. I can't waste any more time. Hopefully, there's some on the way," Noah said to himself, muffled by the towel wrapping his face.
First, he snapped off the burning segment growing from the origin root. He placed the origin root back inside Lyn's pocket hurriedly. Looking in the direction of the prismatic beam of light obscured by the treetops in the distance. He placed his hands under the boy's back in preparation to lift him. Noah stood upright with Lyn cradled in his hands as he began a steady jog toward the beacon above the village.
Noah activated his [Six Spirit Arms] ability as he entered the woods to balance and clear the path ahead. He pushed aside leaf-covered branches that obstructed his way as he jogged, causing them to shimmer with white-lifeforce.
Many trees displayed coloured lifeforce, which Noah avoided because he couldn't afford to be delayed by an ambush. He navigated using the beam piercing the aurora in the sky above as a waymarker, readjusting his course whenever he reached a clearing. He pulled the towel from his face to press it against Lyn's wound with the arrow still embedded upright as he single-mindedly forced his way through the woods.
What felt like an eternity later, Noah arrived at a stream. The stream was illuminated by specks of coloured light floating below the water, along with the reflected lifeforce of the vegetation above. He felt a rush of hope as his eyes searched the banks for the Cure-all plant from Lyn's memory. He didn't immediately find it but decided to follow upstream in the direction of the village.

Guerdon
The sheer vastness of the planes of reality meant that if a combination of laws is stable enough, then it probably exists. The protagonist encounters one such stranger than fiction world that he has a hard time wrapping his head around. He is left alone in an Alien Reality. To him survival isn't the most important after all that he had been through, but he refuses defeat in his pursuit to understand the strange reality he finds himself in. Join this journey of his new story in finding out the answers and secrets of this world. I like this Genre to put it bluntly but I've always found that illogical 'Science' and flawed laws of the world, typical in these stories. So, I've decided to fix that. I have tried my best to make weirdness make sense in this World filled with Magic. Short of simulating them to verify, the laws of this new world should make some reasonable sense and will be consistent (As much as I humanely can keep it that way). This might mean my story might vary in it's progression speed but as a compensation, I promise to have a lot more sensible Cliffhangers if I must put them in. Also, I'm not a big fan of over using vocabulary when telling a story. So, My Language will be very unsophisticated. Hope that's not a putoff. So, Enjoy your reading!
