“You will what?” Screamed Fadil in the front gate of Hiera. His eyes were bloodshot, Zero was going to do something that could be the Hiernians doom. “You have to understand Fadil. The humans have been gone for long enough. They won’t have a human leader. Dian will lead them once again.” The dragon walked from side to side, trying to take in what Zero had said. “You know how humans are Zero, they’ll repeat the same mistakes.” “I’ve made my mind Fadil. You won’t change it.” “You won’t have the Hiernians’ support on this. But I’ll aid you no matter what.” Zero looked at Fadil’s eyes and saw the same eyes of the beggar from more than a thousand years ago. Eyes that bore pure honesty. “There is a continent far away from Hiera, the humans won’t be detected from there.” Dian interrupted the conversation, “Thank you again Zero. I have been trying to resurrect the human race for almost a thousand years.” “You don’t need to thank me, my friend. You were the one that convinced me to do this.” The gargantuan scarlet colored dragon was waiting for this conversation to end patiently. They haven’t talked about the alliance between Ignis and the Draconians. “Fadil, I think this conversation took long enough. As I had previously stated, I don’t have much time.” “I’m sorry Sanguis, to business then.” The dragons assumed human forms and entered the city. The group walked to the castle, where the meeting would take place. Sanguis decided to ask something he had in his mind for a long time, “So, Zero. How did you create our universe?” “No one has ever asked me that question before. The answer is, I didn’t.” “...” The trio came to a halt and looked at Zero with horrified looks on their faces. “If you didn’t, then who did?” “It’s probably better if you do not think about it.” Zero laughed it off. “How can we not think about it? It could be something with even more power than you!” “As I said, do not think about it.” They started moving again and soon arrived at the castle. Fadil opened the huge door with a single motion of his hand. “Our meeting starts now Sanguis.” They walked to a big room, in its center was a roundtable. “I have a few terms. First, we want control of at least five minor copper mines. Second, we want access to The Throat of the Devil. And third, the school of Draak will send some professors to Hiera.” “The first and third are easily accomplished, however, The Throat of the Devil is a sacred place to us.” “I understand that, brother. But I have an offer you won’t be able to refuse.” Sanguis was interested in that offer. He nodded at Fadil to proceed. “Go on, I’m listening.” “I offer you my human life’s work, Reincarnation Magic.” Dian and Sanguis looked at Fadil with disbelief. Fadil and Dian were the two beings that understood how reincarnation functioned. “How will you teach our whole faction that? Some of us can’t even use magic.” Dian asked, “Isn’t that too big of a price to pay for some copper and some professors, Fadil?” “Sanguis, it isn’t an actual magic. It is comprehension of one's own soul. I can’t say anything else unless you accept the deal.” Fadil looked Dian in the eye and answered him, “No Dian, it isn’t an exorbitant price to pay. The Throat of the Devil is extremely important for Draconians. The only dragon that was born outside of it was me.” Zero turned around and left the room, leaving the others puzzled. Dian waved at the duo and left after Zero. -- “You want to move on so soon?” Zero laughed and said, “Time is of the essence Dian.” “Time my ass, I can just go back.” “Mind your tongue friend. Let’s get to the island.” They vanished from Hiera and appeared on a huge island with few species living in it. The creatures that inhabited it were weak and humans could sustain on their flesh. It was a perfect place to start anew. “Let’s start Dian.” “You’ll create the bodies and I’ll create the souls.” Zero said, “Are you sure? Your soul is almost depleted. Here, let me restore it.” While waving his hand sending a wave of energy in Dian’s direction. He sensed all of the energy flowing through him, he could now make things that were impossible for his almost depleted self. “Alright, let’s start.” In five hours, Zero and Dian managed to create 200 humans. A scholar from the extinct humankind once said the necessary amount of humans to survive extinction was 200, Zero based the new creation on that number. The bodies were created easily, Zero just needed to create a mass that looked like a body and transmute its mass into flesh, organs, bones, and everything necessary. The creation of a soul, however, was incredibly complicated. Dian needed to focus a huge amount of energy in a specific point and compress it until it collapsed. The process was way harder than what it seemed and extremely exhausting. “Are you alright friend? You look like you need a little bit of time to recover.” Zero said with a broad smile on his face. “You’re always going to joke with my new magic, aren’t you?” The two seemed to have millions of years of friendship. For Zero it was only a small portion of time, but he had enjoyed that human. That specific human could make him laugh. He was different to all of humankind, an exception. He was what Zero defined as pure. “Old friend, I’ll leave the earth soon.” “Do you know for how long you’ll be gone?” “No…” “...” “I’ll take care of earth while you’re gone. You don’t want it destroyed, do you?” “Of course not, I created this damned place.” Zero grinned once again and waved at Dian, “Goodbye friend, I hope I can see you again sometime soon.” “Goodbye Zero.” “...” A single tear fell from his left eye. “Thanks for everything friend.” Dian felt a huge wave of energy through his body, his soul was stronger than ever. It was a parting gift from Zero. He turned back and looked at the crowd of humans waiting patiently for him. "Humans," he slowly scanned the group of people before him. A silence filled with slow breaths took to the air around them. Their eyes stayed to the ground. "You will live on this island. You will remain isolated from the rest of the planet. You will do so until you learn some respect." His lips turned up to a smile as his hands held each other behind his back. "I will lead you in the path of wisdom. I will show you peace."
