《Heir of the Divine Phoenix》48. Adventurer Team [2]

Feuer left the room calmly as Leonard was left with a bunch of paperwork to do, as he left the room, all adventurers attention were on him, Layla approached him as she said "You already finished the test with the Branch Master?" some surprised could be felt through her pleasant voice.
"Hn'' Feuer nodded in a simple but efficient manner as he took the Adventurer License from his pockets and gave it to Layla, that took it quickly and gasped after seeing his rank, even she only started off as a B-rank adventurer because her fighting experience was lacking, only after training her battle skills that she became an A-rank adventurer.
Remembering something, Feuer said ''Now that I think about it, to think that you're only 16 years old but is already at Low Spiritual Core, this is impressive, I judge that you couldn't advance faster because the knowledge available to you is limited, hm?''
Layla nodded ''Yes, the Holy Kingdom keeps all important knowledge to themselves and distributes it according to a Kingdom ranking, they're simply too overbearing...'' she said as Feuer felt curious about the Holy Kingdom but decided to look into it later.
''Oh, I forgot to say but you were added on my Adventurer Team, you'll have to either dissolve your team or leave it to join mine" Feuer said as Layla shouted back
"No, I won't leave mine!'' She felt frustrated, why should she leave her friends and team to join his team, however, she had no option as Feuer said ''You have no options here, girl, either you join my team or I won't help your Kingdom, you surely don't want to become a political tool, right?''
His voice was cold, no trace of emotions could be heard, Layla felt shocked 'Why is he treating me so coldly? Sure, I barely know him but father said that men would always treat women kindly, principally when they're at this age!' she thought.

Feuer's voice returned to normal as he said ''I know, leaving your friends and stuff, sad and all, you just need to join my team while I don't get any other competent person, I don't think someone at the fifth realm is easy to find in the Kingdom aside from high ranking nobles and you, that is already an adventurer, hm?''
Thinking for a bit, Layla felt it makes sense so she nodded, for the price of having her dignity and Kingdom saved, this is nothing but a small payment, then, she said "Ok, I agree, this means we need two more teammates, coincidentally, I know two available B-rank adventurers that recently lost their team on a request to slay a Wyvern, the request said it was a Tier 4 Magical Beast but when they got there, it was Tier 5 which means A-rank...''
Feuer nodded, judging from her expression, they were probably her friends "Let's go to meet with them, lead the way...''
They left as all adventurer's eyes were on them, many had shocked and surprised expressions, a new A-rank adventurer was born, it was something to be made a party over, that day, all adventurers felt happy despite all the danger of their job.
Layla and Feuer arrived at a house, it was relatively big, giving a peaceful aura, Layla knocked on the house door as hurried footsteps were heard, the one that opened the door was a young man, seemingly to have 18 years old, he had black-colored hair and blue-colored eyes, a wide smile appeared on his face as he said ''Layla, both me and my sister missed you, are you still blaming yourself after what happened six months ago?"
Layla shook her head "No, I blamed myself for a good three months but I got through it, I was just too busy, anyway, this is Feuer Flake, he's an A-rank adventurer and I joined his team, however, we need two more people, we're here to invite both of you to the team, what about it?"

The young man face sunk after seeing Feuer, however, a smile was still on his face as he said "No, I and my sister won't join an adventurer team anymore, we have no benefits in doing so, we'll only feel pain by doing so...''
Feuer understood what was happening at the same instant as he looked to Layla and then to the young man continuosuly before a yellow light appeared on his mind "Oh, I see...'' Feuer said as he immediately understood that the young man had feelings for Layla, he decided not to interfere as he said
"I was looking through the requests and coincidentally, I saw that there was an A-rank request to slay a Wyvern, Layla informed me about what happened six months ago, if you and your sister join my team, I promise to let both of you slay the Wyvern with your own very hands, what about it...?" The young man's face had a change in expression before he replied ''I'll talk to my sister, wait a bit...''
The young man entered the house and when he came back, a similarly black-haired woman was at his side, she looked to be slightly older than him, the woman stared deeply at Feuer's eyes as she said "Can you really help us to avenge our friends? If you can, please prove it!''
Feuer didn't say anything as waves of Mana were let out of his body, the air around him was distorted as the ground cracked, be it the siblings or Layla, they all had cold sweat dripping on their foreheads and backs, the woman then said as Feuer removed his Mana pressure ''This is enough proof, both of us will join your team, Feuer Flake...''
The young man added "I'm Lez Fro and she's Liz Fro, we're siblings!'' Layla facepalmed since it was obvious that they are siblings, Lez blushed as he felt embarrassed by her reaction and remained silent.
Looking at both of them, Feuer said "That's good, we have work to do, then. Let's register us as a team, we have an overgrown lizard to slay...''
If a Drake, Wyvern or a Dragon heard him, they would undoubtedly be enraged, the utmost insult they can hear is being called a lizard, what noble race? Feuer doesn't give a damn.

The Humble Life of a Skill Trainer
For Joshua Still, Skills were the lifeblood of his business. He wanted to understand them, collect many of them, and teach a few of them. Which was a problem because while his profession of a Skill Trainer was perfectly legal, it was frowned upon by most of the kingdom. After all, it wouldn't do for a non-tailor to teach Tailoring. Or, so says the Tailors Guild. The same could be said by the Blacksmiths, the Bakers, the Butchers, the Candlestick Makers, the Mages, and every other Guild with enough money and clout to complain. But still, Skill Trainers provide a valuable service, and so he has managed to start his business and keep it under the table. To a degree. With many a bribe. But his quiet anonymous life of research, practice, and training was about to change. When the Baron demands you pay him a visit, you have little choice.

Author's Note: (This is my first story, and I would be very thankful if grammatical errors were pointed out. I could also take a few suggestions in the comments if you would. This is less a planned production, and more a little project that I'm winging as it goes. I will try and be consistent with at least 2 chapters a week. Also, as I am a completely new author, the number of words per chapter may fluctuate. The minimum will be around 1000 words, while other chapters may be 2000-3000. It will hopefully only get better with time.)
