《Heir of the Divine Phoenix》7. Memories [2]

The images in front of Feuer's face flashed as it showed the image of the boy once again, now four years old, was standing in front of a red-colored coffin with dark red patterns, it seemed to be made of crystal as the people around it could see that inside it is laying a beautiful woman, her features would be considered out of the world if it weren't for her skin now being pale and cold as a dead corpse.
The smile that was always on the young boy face disappeared, shattered by seeing his mother, the person whose bond with him was thought to be unbreakable was broke just like that 'Why people have to die...?' the boy thought as tears fell down his face continuously, no matter how he wiped it out of his face, it kept flowing down.
In order to hide his sadness, the boy went to his room and cried all of his sadness out, however, the void that was left in his heart remained there, he couldn't smile as he did anymore, all the times he tried to smile, he found it awkward, it didn't seem genuine anymore.
The boy, however, understood that just like him, his father was extremely sad and wanted to be strong, make his father proud of him, a way to close the void that was also left in his father's heart.
Just, like his father, the void left in his own heart was boundless, if his father, an adult with vast experience, was sad at that point, how could he, a kid of only four years old, be strong?
Despite being maturer than kids at his age, he's, after all, only a young boy, what he needed now was the comfort of his father, something that never came as his father focused himself on work, from that day on, the young boy didn't talk anymore, he just focused on trying to make his father proud, it became his only objective in his young, short life.

The young boy way of making his father proud would happen only three years later, he wanted to awaken a high talent towards Mage and make his now distant father proud of him, in order to decrease his father worry towards himself, the boy passed countless hours in front of a mirror, perfecting his smile and acting, his previously fake, awkward smile then turned into a fake smile that looked true and genuine after the countless hours he passed practicing.
The years then passed as the images speed up, it only stopped ill the young boy became 7 years old, the age where every kid, be it from the Flake Clan or from different clans will see whether their talent is towards Cultivation or Magic, this is the day where the young boy was wanting to come more than anyone.
He could already imagine the scene where his father's cold facade would vanish as a smile would, once again, appear on his face as the void within his father's heart would disappear and their happy family would return as it were on the old days.
However, once again, some things never go as he wants as the harsh reality hit him hard, shattering his last hope when the Clan Elder announced he doesn't have talent, that he can't cultivate or use magic, unable to use any of them!
The world around him, that was already fading in color, became grey, lifeless, his only objective of life, that was to make his father proud, turned into nothing but ashes as the Clan Elder announced his talent, knowing that not only his father wouldn't be proud but also that it would bring shame to him and the Clan, his young, childish mind made a decision as he picked the knife and was about to slash his own neck, at that time, Feuer dormant soul awakened.

'So we're somewhat similar, after all...' Feuer thought to himself, his only objective of life after both of his parents died was to maintain his life away from the greed relatives and keep his parents business going on till he became old and died, however, the meteor that fell killed him early on and then, he came to this new, different world a week ago.
The memories that were of his predecessor then became his as Feuer accepted it, just then, something happened as a figure appeared in front of him.
The figure was spiritual and just like him, has a ghost-like form, however, Feuer could identify that person figure immediately as he said ''Mother...?''
Ignoring what he said, Ayao's spiritual body approached him and took him in her embrace as she said ''You grew up to this extent already, my baby boy... it was hard after I died, isn't it? Mommy is sorry that she left you, there wasn't a cure to my sickness, I left a trace of my spirit inside your own because I knew that after I died, you would be sad and lose your way, I'm glad that you accepted your past, dear...''
"You're already seven years old, huh... Well, which path will you go to? Cultivation or Magic?" Ayao asked, feeling happy that her son accepted his past, however, Feuer shook his head as he said
''I'm sorry to disappoint you, mother... I'm unable to do any of these two, a waste..." Feuer's head was down, he didn't want to see his mother disappointed expression.
After hearing this, no trace of disappointment appeared on Ayao face, she simply smiled slightly as she said ''My dear... you don't need to worry about this kind of thing, even if you couldn't walk, talk or do anything, you would never disappoint me, do you know why? Because you're my son'' At that point, her spiritual body started to fade, sighing, she continued
"It seems my time is up, huh... My dear, I hope you tell your father how much I love him, I couldn't say that before I died because he was working and my sickness suddenly attacked, I don't want him to hate himself for that, just be sure to say that to him... don't forget, you'll always be my baby boy and mommy will always love you, no matter what!''
Ayao smiled as her spiritual body disappeared completely, leaving only Feuer as tears fell down, the void on his heart wasn't filled up yet but indeed, all of the regrets his predecessor had vanished right now, more important, he felt that he was truly a part of this new family of his after that.
Laughing while wiping his tears, Feuer thought to himself 'To think that I would cry like a baby... hahaha, his memories now became mine but it didn't affect my personality, it seems...'
His consciousness then returned to its normal state, surprisingly, he was on the bed, when Feuer was sucked on his consciousness, he was on a chair 'Maybe father thought I was asleep and brought me to the bed, well, now that I 'woke up', I'll go to talk with him!' Nodding to himself, he went to his father study room.
