《Red Road》Chapter 29 - Blinded by Fury

Kiron walked into the circle where Rovo was standing.
But to his surprise, Rovo started laughing, “Fists and feet have no eyes, right?” He said with an evil grin on his face.
“That’s correct. No one can be blamed for any injuries!” Kiron decided to play along. If he could harm Rovo without receiving any form of retaliation from others… It’s a good situation for Kiron!
One of the disciples that were standing around the ‘arena’ walked out of the spectators’ crowd, “Then, we all agree that no matter what injuries are seen here today, no one will receive any punishment later on?”
Both Kiron and Rovo nodded in agreement.
“Alright… Then, begin the match!” The disciple said with a loud voice, allowing everyone in the room to hear.
Rovo immediately exploded forwards like an arrow. He came charging towards Kiron, who was just standing still, waiting for Rovo to arrive.
“Hah, he must be so scared that he doesn’t even dare move!” Rovo thought to himself. He thinks that Kiron isn’t moving because he is too scared.
Rovo stopped up right before Kiron, lifting his arm, preparing to throw a punch towards Kiron.
But, Rovo wasn’t the only person to throw a punch. Kiron who stood still, positioned himself properly and threw a punch towards Rovo!
*Bang*
Everyone stared at the scene with shocked expressions on their faces. Kiron had actually met Rovo head on! Their fists collided, creating a huge sound. The reinforced tiles on the ground all had cracks in them, the impact from the colliding fists had almost destroyed the ground below them!
The spectators all stared at the scene, they expected Rovo to come out on top… But they were actually equal in strength! No… Kiron was actually able to make Rovo retreat a few steps!
Kiron at the Profound Practitioner Realm was able to force Rovo at the Profound Spiritual Realm to step back! A scene like this was truly incredible in the eyes of the spectators.
“How?” Rovo thought to himself while trying to hide the trembling in his arm. Being forced back by some brat at the Profound Practitioner Realm? This only made Rovo even angrier.
Rovo had only mastered Profound Skills that works with his axe. So he couldn’t use any Profound Skills without his weapon.

“Just a fluke… Something like that won’t happen again! I must’ve underestimated that Kiron a bit. I’ll use all my strength this time!” Rovo kept trying to convince himself that he was pushed back because he didn’t use all of his strength.
Kiron got tired of standing at the same spot, so he pounced himself towards Rovo, throwing a punch towards his face.
Rovo noticed Kiron pouncing towards him, so he prepared to counter with a kick.
He put all of his Spiritual Energy into his leg, hoping to destroy Kiron with that one kick.
“Not good!” Kiron thought to himself. He can’t take that leg head on, and his positioning was bad, so he has no way of avoiding it. He should’ve been more patient!
Kiron stared at the leg that was coming towards him, he changed the direction of his punch. He was going to meet Rovo’s leg head on!
*Bang*
Kiron managed to stop Rovo’s leg, but his arm was knocked back in the process. But, he wasn’t going to stop there.
He was currently in a position where he is unable to punch hard enough to damage Rovo, so he decided to kick him instead.
As Rovo was preparing to take advantage of the situation, he saw a kick coming towards him!
*Boom*
An explosive kick landed on Rovo’s chest! Rovo was sent flying at least 50 meters before landing on the ground. His balance was a mess, so he ended up falling down onto his back after landing on his feet.
Everyone stared at Rovo as he got back up on his feet, then they turned their heads towards Kiron. From their point of view, Kiron had absolutely no injuries on his body. He was actually dominating someone at the Profound Spiritual Realm!
Rovo got back up on his feet and looked at Kiron, “Brother Kiron, you are indeed formidable! It’s a shame that I am not good when it comes to unarmed fighting. How about we bring out our weapons? Then we can fight with all our strength!”
The spectators started roaring. Bring out their weapons? Everyone knew that Rovo got his fame from being formidable with his axe. And Kiron… He was just known as someone who had created a Spiritual Bond with a Divine Beast!

Kiron started laughing, “You really want to fight with weapons? I don’t mind. But remember, weapons don’t have eyes!” Kiron had wanted to try out the Crimson Devourer for a while now!
A smile appeared on Rovo’s face as he took a gigantic green axe out of interspatial ring, “That’s right! Our weapons don’t have any eyes!”
Everyone stared at the gigantic green axe in Rovo’s hands. The axe was bigger than Kiron, and it seems to weigh at least 1,300kg!
But, just as everyone were staring at Rovo, Kiron took his Crimson Devourer out of his interspatial ring. While the Crimson Devourer is smaller than Rovo’s green axe, it did carry a more profound aura.
Rovo didn’t want to wait any longer. He pounced himself towards Kiron, aiming his axe towards Kiron’s head. It was obvious that he wanted to kill Kiron.
Kiron didn’t hesitate at all upon seeing the axe coming towards him. He instantly positioned himself properly, then he lifted the Crimson Devourer, which weighs 1,500kg, and started preparing for the Rovo’s attack.
*Bang*
The Crimson Devourer collided with the Green Axe! But again, Kiron didn’t move a single step! Rovo struggled just to not lose the grip on his axe!
“HOW?!” Rovo was furious. He just couldn’t understand why he was losing to Kiron in such a manner.
And Kiron hadn’t even used all his strength! He wanted to take it slow and enjoy the battle! This was the first time he got to try out his Crimson Devourer!
Rovo jumped back 10 meters. He changed his stance, he going to use a Profound Skill!
“Then… You’re strong enough to fight me evenly! I will use my Thunder Strike skill on you!” Rovo wanted to kill Kiron, but he didn’t want the others to think badly of him. So he tried to make it seem like he was showing Kiron his strongest move out of respect.
The spectators stared at Rovo, “He… He’s using Thunder Strike in a spar against someone at the Profound Practitioner Realm? Does he not care about his honor!?” Everyone admired Kiron’s strength, but for him to match a Profound Skill… Impossible!
Thunder Strike was a Profound Skill that was available to anyone. The only problem with the skill is that mastering it takes way too long. Most people don’t want to spend years on learning one Profound Skill!
Spiritual Energy surrounded the Green Axe is Rovo’s hands. It was almost as if the axe had double in size! Taking that axe head on… Not a good idea!
“Then… I suppose it’s time for me to stop holding back.” Kiron mumbled to himself. He remembers the time he fought against Naro! He had the advantage until Naro started using Quickstep!
Kiron lowered the Crimson Devourer, he was going to slash upwards in response to Rovo’s Thunder Strike!
Both Rovo and Kiron started running towards each other, and in the blink of an eye, they met!
Rovo swung his Green Axe downwards using all his might! He really wanted to kill Kiron with this one blow! He was expecting Kiron to try and meet his attack head on yet again, so he spared no strength!
Kiron had already realized that he can’t take that attack head on, so he decided to fight with his brain instead! The Green Axe came crashing down towards Kiron, like a bolt of lightning! But Kiron… He sidestepped it! Instead of meeting the attack head on, he decided it would be much wiser to sidestep and attack from another position!
The enraged Rovo didn’t consider this a possibility, so he didn’t prepare for a situation like that.
*BANG*
The floor had already been completely destroyed by the Thunder Strike! The tiles were sent flying in all directions, and a huge crater had appeared. Almost everyone in the castle could feel the strike from Rovo, it was like an earthquake!
“Not good!” Rovo’s face went pale. He realized that Kiron was standing next to him, and he was completely open!
Kiron swung his Crimson Devourer upwards, towards Rovo’s arms!
*Slash*
No one dared make a single sound! The scene just now had shocked everyone! On the broken ground in front of them laid a Green Axe and 2 arms!

New Synopsis after chapter 56: Long long ago, there was a mortal who despised the gods and envied the immortals. Why do the mortals have to die when the gods wish them to? The Exodus Project
This is the original version of Origin before I rewrote it. It's much more simpler, some names and personalities are a little different. THere's nowhere near as much back story or character development/interaction. But the story is essentially at the end of book one. I wrote this 15 odd years ago, and with a bit of polish it doesn't look too bad. The story like Origin is about a group of college students who find a ship that is the last remnant of an ancient human space faring civilisation, they fix her up and go back into space. Along they way they'll meet alot of aliens, religious fundamentalists and conmen.
