《Red Road》Chapter 21 - Final Moments

Kiron had already left the inn. Now he was planning on buying a house for his mother! His first step was to find a real estate agency.
He had decided on letting Shion stay with his mother. Bringing Shion along would just result in unnecessary attention.
“There! They should be the ones selling houses!” Kiron looked at a small building that had a sign that said ‘Real Estate Agency’. He walked up to the front door and opened it.
Inside the building there was an old man behind a desk. Kiron walked up to the desk, “Hey there, I’d like to buy a house!” Kiron looked at the old man with a smile on his face as he spoke.
The old man stared at Kiron for a couple of seconds, “Kid, go back to your parents. We only have two houses on the market, and the cheapest one of those is 10,000 gold.” The old man said with a somewhat angry expression.
“Then, I’ll be back soon!” Kiron said politely to the old man before walking out. How could the old man know that Kiron was someone capable of buying a house?
Kiron searched his interspatial ring.
3 High Ranked Cores, one of them only contains 80 percent of what it should have.
28 Mid Ranked Cores
75 Low Ranked Cores
“I don’t need any Low Ranked Cores, so I should sell them all. As for the Mid Ranked Cores… I can sell 10 of them. That should give me 10,500 gold coins! And with that, I’ll have 11,100 gold coins!” Kiron calculated carefully.
He then started walking towards the market place.
…
Kiron walked up to the profound medicine shop. Here you could buy and sell both profound medicines and cores!
“Hey there, I’d like to sell 75 Low Ranked Cores and 10 Mid Ranked Cores!” Kiron said to the shopkeeper as he took the cores out of his interspatial ring.
The shopkeeper stared at him with a shocked expression for a couple of seconds before speaking, “Let’s see… That will be 10,500 gold coins!” The shopkeeper said as he put the cores into his interspatial ring. He then took out 105 golden bars and handed them to Kiron.

Kiron put the golden bars into his interspatial ring, “Thank you!” He said with a polite bow. It was now time to head back to the real estate agency.
… Kiron arrived at the real estate agency building.
“You again?” The old man said with an angry expression on his face.
Kiron, feeling slightly irritated took out 100 golden bars. “I’d like to buy a house.” He said with a frown on his face.
The old man was stunned, this little kid actually brought the money? “I apologize, I thought you were just another kid who wanted to buy a house with the first golden coin you had earned.” The old man had been working here for a long time, and he would occasionally encounter some kid who wanted to buy a house with only a couple of gold coins.
The old man put the golden bars into his interspatial ring, “Follow me. I’ll bring you to your new house!” His voice was no longer that of a rude old man, but instead that of a kind old man. The power of money is truly magnificent!
… Kiron and the old man left the building, they started walking towards the new house.
“My name is Kurs, what is your name?” The old man looked at Kiron with a hint of curiosity in his eyes. A kid who is able to bring out 10,000 gold coins? Creating a good relationship with someone who is able to do that… It might prove useful for the future!
Kiron looked at Kurs, “My name is Kiron.” He said in a natural voice. Inside, he was still feeling slightly annoyed by the way he had been treated earlier.
Kurs noticed that there was something off by the tone of Kiron’s voice, so he chose not to speak off-topic anymore.
… Kiron and Kurs arrived at the house.
“It’s… It’s huge!” Kiron saw the gigantic house in front of him, it had 3 floors, a garden and it was close to the governors’ mansion! Kiron immediately felt satisfied upon seeing the house.
Kurs felt relieve that the house was to Kiron’s liking. “Then, here’s the key for the house. I hope you will enjoy this house” Kurs said as he handed two keys over to Kiron.

Kiron accepted the keys, “Thank you.” He then started walking towards the inn, completely ignoring Kurs.
“With this, mom should be able to live a good life while I’m gone!” Kiron thought to himself. Now he wouldn’t have to worry about anything. And the house being next to the governor’s mansion was just a big bonus! No one would dare attack a house near the governor’s mansion!
… Kiron arrived at the inn.
“Hey mom, I’m back!” Kiron said as he walked into his mother’s room. He then took the keys out of his interspatial ring and handed them over to his mother.
Charlotte accepted the keys, “You really bought a house?” she said with a surprised expression on her face. She knew just how expensive the houses in a city could be. 600 gold for a decent house in a small town like Norica… That was possible, but here in Taruck? Only the smallest and ugliest houses could be bought for 600 gold.
“Yes, and it’s a really huge house! You will just have to see it for yourself!” Kiron then grabbed her hand and walked out of the inn.
Shion walked right behind Kiron, following him and Charlotte.
… They arrived at the newly bought house.
“This… This is” Charlotte couldn’t even finish her sentence. She was stunned upon seeing the gigantic house in front of her. “Come on, let’s go inside!” Kiron said as he walked up to the front door.
Charlotte took one of the keys out of her pocket and opened the door.
“Incredible! Just how did you afford this place?” Charlotte looked at Kiron with a happy expression on her face. “Shion is incredibly strong! He could find and locate all the profound beasts in the mountains, and he killed hundreds of profound beasts! Thanks to that I was able to obtain a large amount of Low Ranked Cores… But those cores are useless to me, so I sold them!” Kiron didn’t want his mother to know what he had been doing.
Charlotte took out the two keys and handed one of the keys over to Kiron, “With this, I want you to remember that you will always be welcome to come back and live with me! No matter what happens, I want you to remember that you will always have a home that you can come back to!” Charlotte said with a sad voice. There were tears flowing down her face. Not tears of sadness, but tears of happiness!
Kiron hugged his mother. Those words left a huge impact in his heart! It felt like everything he had ever done, all the pain he had endure… It was all worth it!
… Time passed by with Kiron and Charlotte talking and spending their time together.
This was the last week Kiron would spend with his mother. He might not see her again before many years have passed! So he wanted to spend every moment he could with her.
Charlotte had already gone to sleep, and Kiron was feeling incredibly tired. He hadn’t slept properly for a good while now! It was finally time to close his eyes and relax.
Kiron was planning on spending the time he wasn’t using with his mother on refining the High Ranked Core! He wanted to reach the 3rd rank of the Profound Practitioner Realm before he leaves with the Burning Phoenix Sect!
… 5 days flow by in the blink of an eye.
Kiron was sitting on his bed, refining the High Ranked Core… “I can feel it! I’m about to break through to the 3rd rank!” Kiron mumbled to himself.
He could have reached the 3rd rank a couple of days ago, but he would rather spend his time with his mother, so he delayed it.
His body was sucking the World Qi out of the High Ranked Core and refining it as if it belonged to him. The World Qi was slowly entering his body, refining every muscle and every bone!
“It’s here! The 3rd rank!” Kiron had a happy expression on his face. He was finally breaking through to the 3rd rank!
… Kiron opened his eyes “I’m now at the 3rd rank of the Profound Practitioner Realm!”
